We all have our own opinions on this matter, I'm of the opinion that human life is only more important to the majority of you because society dictates that it is, Society has made a lot of mistakes and will keep on making mistakes, We can all learn a lot from the animal kingdom. In answer to your question. Human life is NOT unequivocally more important to protect than the life of any animal. Gone fishing

What do Conservative-leaning people in Western countries...
Zep replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
I think you've been away from Europe to long, years of incompetent lefty governments have left the workers poorer than any conservative government ever did Gone fishing -

Neither, we have our presents on January 6th, Some thing to do with " los Reyes " ( the three wise men ) Christmas eve the children get little presents and some candy after beating hell out of a log with a long stick. After twenty years of living in this country it still baffeles me why they have the tradition of giving kids their main presents the day before they return to school Gone fishing

There's nothing complicated about it. When one person ends the life of other(s), why should that person get to continue to live? Why should YOU force SOCIETY ( ie all of the rest of us) to do your killing for you? Your logic(or lack there of) is always entertaining to read. Most people get a good laugh from you. Thanks for the entertainment. Now please tell me how I'm butt hurt(?) and a RePUBICan and do that Bawawawaa thing. I would have thought you could come up with a better come back because(in your words) "you go to school and stuff.....duh..". As an instructor I learned how to teach to the lowest common denominator. It was called common core of experience.. I would hate to talk over the heads of all the conservative morons here and have them miss the point. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Wow PMT at it's best Gone fishing

Its a French "Unique X51 bis" Unique armes did make a 17.5" barrel version of the X51 but they went out of buisness years ago, and I've given up trying to find one on the second hand market. The rifle has a neat little feature where you can turn a knurled screw and it will hold the breech open after firing. not seen that on other semi autos Gone fishing
-
wow, sue happy in practice! i hope you can sleep well at night.. You realize I was joking, don't you? Or are you & I having another language barrier hiccup? (Where's that icon when I need it?) I have no problem with the language but I'm afraid I've got to the point where I take every thing you say seriously, I think attorney humor must be some thing special. Gone fishing

John, Here 17.5" barrel is perfectly legal, Suppressors are legal. I would be a little upsett if buy shortening the barrel ruined the gun, it's my favourite gun for shooting Mink and ferrets being that it is so quiet I can knock down a mink and another before they realise that anything is amiss. The total length of the rifle is 48" 8" of that being the suppressor, it's to long and badly balanced for using in brush. I think that losing 6" off the barrel would lose the front heavyness and make it much eaiser to hold steady whilst aiming. I know that in a perfect world I would have time to use a tripod and the little critters would stay still to be shot at, but we don't live in a perfect world Belgian_Draft. what you say does seem to make sence, I think what I'll do is wait till Spring and the local gun fair, buy an old CZ or similar (50€) and experiment with that. I concur with what you say a well crowned barrel makes all the difference, I use a brass round headed screw in a drill with a little lapping paste. Gone fishing

That I know, I was more wondering if anyone had experience of using a shortened barrel. (not actually the cutting of the barrel, that I'll do in a lathe along with crowning and re threading for the suppressor) My thoughts were more along the lines of I'll lose around a quarter of the twist and how will that play on the accuracy/velocity also as it's a semi auto will it have problems recycling as that I use subs. Gone fishing
-
I have an old .22lr semi automatic with a 23.5inch barel that I want to shorten by 6 inches I typically use RWS subs and a suppressor. I normally shoot at around 40-50 yards, sometimes out to 80-100yards By reducing the length will I lose much accuracy/stopping power? Gone fishing

I just dont need that much meat normally so when I goi by myself most years.. I just count coup on the animals and let them pass..... pulling that trigger just means a hell of a lot of work, and my hunting season is over. I really like that attitude, Too many hunters pull the trigger just for the sake of killing some thing. I live where I hunt and often walk off trail and see carcases rotting just because they can't be bothered to drag the animal back to the trail. It would be cool if in this digital age some one designed a scope with a built in camera, for counting coup Gone fishing

So far this season I've bagged 5 Roebucks, (Spanish cabriole) using a .223, I love making venison sausage, Here in the mountains of Catalunys it's more Boar hunting, and the freezer is full already. for the Roebucks I use a RWS sub hollow point. for the Boar a 12 gauge slug or a 4.44 magnum Gone fishing
