  5. Hi ZEP ZP no problem you want ground rush you can get it. Skydiver's aren't dumb they have invented a whole new type of "ground rush" Open canopy at safe altitude (before old fart ground rush) fly around under a perfectly good canopy botch a high performance landing or do a panic turn to low to the ground and I think you got the new wave type of ground rush. Cypress won't do squat. Anyone experience the new wave type of ground rush? What you think? R.I.P. I think that might qualify as ground rush I think ya fucking crazy I'll go for the new wave GR the nexy time I'm up Under my Safire2 loaded at 1.6 I'll go for a 270 front riser at 400 If it works I'll let you know. If it dosen't ..................Arggggggg Gone fishing
  6. Great graphical explination Thanks. By the way I loved the sensation of groundrush but along came ZP Gone fishing

    Ban Knives!

If they would just leagalize guns they wouldn't have this problem. Seriously... they are morons!!! Really. Banning non-kitchen knives..I don't get it. Then they will use kitchen knives as weapons..... then they will ban those and will have a country filled with plastic knives and sporks!!! You know what? When I rightly and aptly point out that failure to make the realizations that you explain here means Brits are being morons, I get called out for being "anti British" or a "brit-hater" or something. Why did pointing out idiotic policies become forbidden? Just because it tends to embarrass and hold up to ridicule those who propose/enact idiotic policies? They should be exposed! There is NO EXCUSE for failing to realize that if the only knives available are kitchen knives, then kitchen knives are what will be used in stabbings. Forget for a moment about the fact that these laws will punish those who do not break the law with their folding/hunting/collectible knives. Let's just focus on the fact that this will not in any way prevent or diminish crime!! What the fuck is WRONG with the ability to think rationally in that country?! I am not anti-British, people: I used to be an anglophile. I am anti-STUPIDITY, and it seems you've been manifesting an awful lot of it lately. -Jeffrey I'm afraid I have to agree with you on this one , But in the defence of the people of the UK they are being controlled by labour government So for the time being....................... 11. I was remembering the days when sometimes we'ed take it down low enough to experience GR Anyone able to explain why it happens No wise cracks it's a serious question Gone fishing

  14. I think that probably everybody with a ZP now open at around 3000 or a little higher but that wasn't always the case. back when it was all F111 an flat packs people I know or knew pulled at 2000 We're talking like 18 years ago. Alot of times I'd pull at ground rush (canopy Fury 220) the F111 opened in round about 400 - 500ft. todays ZP's take longer to open and are faster also mafunctions tend to be faster, So experience dictated pull higher No more "Tee at three" No more ground rush (I hope) Gone fishing
  15. I would second that idea in a flash and maybe a system for FF containers IE:- if the container isn't FF aproved by the countrys sporting authority (USPA, BPA, FENDA and so on) you don't FF Not an original idea but a great idea all the same Gone fishing
  16. The deliberate mistake was made by those that gloated over and over again that scientists could not explain the flight of the bumblebee whenever they wanted to discredit scientists over such other things as global warming, evolution, etc. Typically it went something like this: "Yeah - why should we believe you that the ozone layer is being destroyed when you guys say that bumblebees can't fly..." The original article on bumblebees simply said that that aerodynamics as applied to airplanes couldn't explain insect flight because insects, having very low Reynolds numbers, operated in a regime where viscosity effects were overwhelmingly important. Insect flight is very well understood by science at this time. Whoops I think I touched a nerve without knowing. I had no idea that the anomaly of the Bumblebee was a sore point. Sorry. Today I looked at your presentations, Very impressive The next time I’m at a DZ I’ll do a few jumps leaving after flatflyers, then after flaring out (5000ft) I’ll spend a few seconds whilst slowing down locating the group who left before me Be interesting to see our separation Gone fishing
  17. At this DZ we do have faith in the drivers we do not suffer to much from bandit aircraft. In the days of VOR no ground, No drop The dz has lost jumpers to the sea but only once in 20yrs due to circumstances beyond thier control I prefere to jump th Porter an if FF exit before flat flyers as do 99% of the other jumpers. When jumping the Twotter I will hang back on boarding an leave after the professional FF After 5 years of FF I'm not going to change my habbits Gone fishing
  18. Shit I hit the wrong button so I'll write it again (see we all make mistakes) Listen to Aggiedave Practice Practice Practice The next time you are at the DZ ask to borrow a rig an walk round the DZ doing wave offs an Practice pulls nobody is going to take the piss we all went through it don't forget full arm stretch Youll do fine. Gone fishing
  19. Nothing to do with FF just an anecdote, Last time I jumped at Zhill's it snowed 89 Gone fishing
  20. I have to disagree with some of what you've said Some one in the forum said (not so long ago) that sky diving was a two part afair, I agree, a canopy can killyou just as quickly as a no pull situation (may be a bit over the top but it's true) we have A;B;C;D licences for freefall In at least one European country or DZ we have a licence system for FF, May be it's time for a licence system for canopys, no waivers, we should find a system where the canopy fits the experience.. I for one am sick of hearing that a friend has stoofed in on a canopy that was obviously to small for him/her As AFF seems to be the way to go an becomes more afordable to the general populas how about including canopy handling in the program, In my view this will stimulat canopy sales for the manufacturas....Also DZ managers/owners should have the responsability of checking that the jumper has the experience to fly his rig. Probably just a pipe dream. .... Gone fishing
  21. Of course that is right. Most choose to use an exit order policy that does not require the extra long delays to be safe. The DZ's in this tread use GPS and at the cut off point always go round again, This point I will stress as we do exit in cloud and we cannot always see the ground also I trust the pilots 99%of the time So the question still stands Gone fishing
  22. Reply to Mr kallend. I apologise for the error in spelling your name It was not intentional. When I went to school we were told that the Bumble Bee was an anomoly and that the size of it's wings should not sopport the weight of it's body mind you that was over 35 years ago. I seem to remember some years ago you saying some thing like "The exit order dosent matter as long as you give enough time" I can't quote you as I can't find the thread. Now I prefere to exit before flat flyers because, 1,I turn 90º after exit an generaly stay on heading 2, because I know I go down fast 3,Because after 18 years at this DZ I know the wind conditions (uppers an lowers) 4, Because at this DZ the run in is always South to North (more or less) reguardless of upper wind dirrection (explination, we have the sea behind us A town directly below us mountains to the right of us, A main road in front or us and buildings to the right of us, AAD's are compusory" So Mr kallend I do not dought your equations, so in a perfect world your equations would be pefect but alas we do not live in a perfect world Note. I am not trying to belittle or contradict Mr Kallend, but some DZ's do put FF out first. The question still stands "do you know why" Gone fishing
  23. Don't worry you'll grow out of it. If I can give you just one piece of advice It would be Keep away from the French They'll break your heart an run away,, It's a tradition, they can't help it they just do it. Gone fishing
