I think you'll find that at least the USN and the British navy have agreed not to use high frequency (intrusive)sonar within 50NMls of known whale breeding grounds or whale migratory routes (according to the season) For some reason killer whales (Orca) are not affected, OR so it seems, But no ruling has been made over dolphins or porpoise, More's the pity.
