Hey everyone, Thanks for all the replies. Some of you have asked what she is giving up, In the shortest answer possible NOTHING. She claims that she gave up having a child back when we got married and that doesnt compare with anything that she is asking me to do. I told her from the get go that I did not want any kids of my own. I inherited a stepson with this marriage. And thats as far as it went. As far as the "slippery slope" arguement goes, Its hard to give up something else when there's nothing else to give up. In 2000 (a year after we were married) I gave up going out all the time with the guys, pretty much gave up playing golf, Sold the boat i had since we "couldn't afford" it. as well as a few other activities that were self-destructive. As of January 1 2005 I am going to give up skydiving, and put my gear up for sale. Its been a fun ride while its lasted, but in order to save what's left of my marriage i'm going to walk away from the sport. IMHO Both companies suck. in 1994 I had an accident whilie i was insured through GEICO. Came home on leave from DC and had an accident. Sure the payment was late, I called them prior to it and they said NP just send it in the mail. The next day I go out and wreck my truck (I rear-ended an F250 and pushed him off of a steep ravine) GEICO doesnt cover the accident and told me that I was without insurance for that day only. Then they decide to drop me and send me a refund check for the balance of my policy. About 2 months later I get a bill in the mail from them telling me that I owe them X amount of dollars for coverage they had been providing me since under MD Law they had to provide me with insurance!! I was like WTF?? you drop me, send me a refund, then send me a bill?? what fuckin kind of company are you??? Long story short I got sued for 75k and was forced to file bankruptcy on the whole damn thing. Right after I got married, my other insurance company dropped me after having too many speeding tickets and I was forced to go with progressive. They raped me for 275 a month on a 6 month policy since i was high risk on a 1995 Mustang GT convertible. I'm with state farm now and pay roughly about 700 a year in premiums.
