I just approximated... since last November, I have been up there about 80 days to jump, and of 80 I didn't get to jump 2 of those days. One because Pete and I got drunk at noon. The other was weather, but I have been pretty freakin fortunate. Now I probably just jinxed it too though. Maybe you should plan courses around my arrival in town... YEAH, then I can come eat too. Oh, and what is that about Buffy? I didn't think those were yours...

Adam Foster Age:22 Height and weight:6'0, 190 lbs Birthplace:Englewood, Colorado Marital status:I have three rigs I am very fond of... but single Occupation:Courier (downtown ) Hobbies:BASE, skydiving, umm... Harness and container:Two Warlocks by the company previously known as Vertigo Parachute:Dagger 277, Rock Dragon 303 Home Dropzone:Have to say Mile Hi Records or Awards:First person to succesfully execute a "steamroller" (to MY knowledge) Pet peeves:Well, appropriately, every ASS who told me six times over the last week that I need to vote, and how I need to vote, and where I need to vote, and who I should vote for, and what I should vote for, and why I should vote for them, and why I should vote for that... seriously. People who take all of this WAY too seriously (life I mean). What is your favorite quote?"Your heart is free, have the courage to follow it." What is your philosophy on life?I think we are way to simple to understand something as complex as life and death. What is something most people don't know about you?How I really feel a lot of the time. Who has inspired you in BASE?That's hard because of the amount of people, and some of you probably would have no idea why but... Rick H., Dwain W., Jimmy P., Marta, Peter, Jamie, Ray P., Katie, Chad, Vlady, Tom A., Russell, Aaron (from B.C.), Bob S., Dan G., Tim M., Miles D., all of the videos I watched (Standard Issue, Continuum, 1st BASE, BASE Forever, it goes on), and of course, last but certainly not least, all of the girls who made me despondant enough to need to try something new, just to clear my mind. Most memorabe BASE jumping moment:I was doing a four way at the potato, one person going from the "dark side". I did a gainer in the middle of two friends. I looked over as I was coming around to see my friends chute coming out of her pack tray and stretching. I pitched and looked up at my sniveling canopy (slider up) and saw above me my friends canopies filling the gap where I would have been. I don't know why, but it was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I realized on that jump that I enjoyed seeing my friends there with me in that perfect place, sharing the experience, way more than I enjoyed pounding out solo's trying to add another rotation. Thanks guys, I won't likely forget that one. Describe Adam Foster in five words or less:Trying to figure it out. I BASE jump because...Initially I have no idea. It has become this amazing thing that plagues (in a good way) my dreams and constantly runs through my mind. I can't seem to justify "It's fun" due to the trade off of death though. So what I think it has really become is this: I have never been more scared of anything than I am at a lot of exit points, except when it comes to death. Death scares me more, and I think by standing face to face with what I fear most (in BASE), it will assist me to face anything, even death.

I know someone has a video floating around with about 50 school kids on a field trip. Someone got them all to chant BASE, BASE, BASE... Someone might be able to get you that if you wanted it. I am sure in all of the footage friends and I have, we have a big group of people watching (i know there has been plenty of those). I will start looking. Also, what about the Memorial Day fest, I am sure there was tons of people watching there, not to mention the businesses that put put those food stands and such.

Is there a clip of Jeb in it? Kind of a "dark" song I guess I would call it? No lyrics? If it is this one, it is a song from one of The Matrix movies.
-
Oh but the B team is nationally represented as well. We have representatives in Idaho, and in Washington. Only wings I wanna know about are on wingsuits, and politics definitely don't have a place at exit. Nothing but good times to be had there. No A team, but I have heard some interesting rumors about a so called "C team"... Take it easy Hank
-
But what about that bigass logo? just kidding buddy.
-
Nice! I figured black and red was only appropriate as well.

I often have people (non jumpers mostly) telling me not to push the limits. I can't help but tell them that I push the limits by stepping to exit, the whole point of the sport is to do just that. I think risk more often than not lies in the eye of the beholder. While something seems so unrealistic to one jumper, it may be just reasonable enough to another. There is only so much that can be controlled, after that all you have to deal with is fear.
-
The way that it has become for me was mainly because of jumping alone at the Idaho for those weeks. I won't put my rig on unless I am ready to jump it, with conifidence. I also have this wierd... superstition is the best word, but if someone asks if I want a gear check, I will almost always say yes. Just kind of the way things work, I rely on me, but wouldn't mind getting a second opinion. Hey, by the way dude, I got a great story for you guys about that new site.

He landed in a steep boulder patch just above the landing area. There was no flare, the canopy just kind of collapsed there onto the rocks. Again, get well soon Robin. Adam

Heal fast Robin. That was a gnarly one, I hope everything gets put back together soon and well. Adam

"I promise not to get drunk each night" But that's half the fun, and when it's windy, that's ALL the fun.

Seriously though, if she likes nature, scenery, and hiking, she could probably keep herself busy in the canyon for a while, very beatiful, especially sunset (I am sure sunrise as well, but I wouldn't be able to tell you). Also there is a golf course (I always try to get a few holes in, man golf is SO exciting) within a stones throw of the bridge, if you can throw a stone PRETTY far. Also there is a certain well known boat operator that does scenic tours up and down the river for $15 a pop. I hear the falls themselves are pretty incredible when they are flowing, but haven't checked them out yet. Hope it helps. Jump safe and have fun, that place is awesome. OOH, almost forgot, if you go for breakfast, the Buffalo Cafe is REAL good. I think it used to be called the Hong Kong Ranch, but that's another story. Tom could give you directions I imagine, I don't know the streets. Soft landings Adam

I assume you could go places with that wheeled contraption of yours you used for the paraglider video I saw, or something similar maybe? Adam

In all the videos I have seen (which isn't too many), my favorite so far has to be the ABA (Australian Base Association) videos. The first is fistful of F-111 and the newest I am unsure of the name, but both rock. I can try and find out where you get these, or I am sure someone lurking around here knows a way. You can also try the ABA forums.

You know what I learned though, those politics don't exist when you are hanging over the edge. They don't have a place at exit points. I realized while I am out there, on the other side, the politics are the last thing on my mind... and I like it.

I think the one labeled Dallas is Aaron, another OZ.
