My regards to all those who are feeling the ripple. My best to you all.
-
Yeah, that would be it, I still haven't seen a proper TARD, but the openings I saw on the TARD flip looked pretty nice and on heading. Looks like a pretty good time.
-
Have you seen anyone do a TARDover up there yet, seems like a good way of doing a rollover with some wind.
-
Yeah, the most I have heard about the slider on the rollover is to make it real soft, but I haven't had rough openings from my slider down either.
-
Bringing this back to life, I had thoughts about the difference between slider up and slider down rollovers. Mostly questioning the height you would be "in the saddle". Has anyone had enough variance to notice a great difference in the altitude between the two?
-
I wouldn't say that, appreciation of greatness (the dagger), just kidding... sort of.
-
I don't know, my dagger might even fly better than that, hehe.

I have to agree. I figure, they let us jump it all day every day, they ask very little of us as jumpers, we owe them that much. The whole thing with the rail is for the reason of traffic on the bridge, which I witnessed being slowed by this weekends rail jumps. Not to stir the pot, but hell, I would LOVE to jump from the rail, and never have, not at night, not in the day. We have a plank that serves the same purpose for aerials, though it isn't as much of a show (which I think is the reason for most of the rail jumps, the show). I have spent a lot of time up there since I began in November, and would be sick if something were to go wrong.

I still haven't gone slider up, and have to admit it puckers my . I am so used to 3 or less that I feel like I would go unstable after two (unless I kept myself busy in some sort of rotation ). I know that the wind will pick up, and I'll know what to do, but I would have to say it gives me chills too.

So, from 165, now would you have done so low if it was not a bridge. I was trying to get an idea for how low people are calling acceptable for rollovers and such. I was contemplating one off of a 270' "B", but didn't get the chance while I was there. Of course I imagine the height to vary depending on the object. Tom, it sounds like you have some experience as well, what do you think on height, anyone else have an opinion?

hehehe That's ok, I've accepted it, I am a newbie punk

One word. Steamroller. just kidding

What I have found works well for me, not producing any off headings, i use the first bite rubber band to set the tailgate with just enough wraps to keep it closed (not much at all, it's more to keep the tail up than anything.) I find that this keeps the tail up and doesn't present the bottom skin as much. I also spend more time than a lot of people I have seen dressing my canopy, and I think that may help a lot with heading, but I have only done about a dozen rollovers, or variations.

This is true, it is illegal to smoke in Norway, but what about those who could have smoked in Amsterdam, where it is legal, and then traveled on to Norway, and did nothing illegal at all. -
I'm not knocking asking in public, the forums are great, and yes we all learn a lot, I was just saying a lot of the time I will ask the people I talk to day to day.
-
I ask a lot of questions as well, but most of the time choose to ask in private, you get an answer either way, right?
-
Of course Tom, I would be happy to. I took some pictures but they're too big to attach here (i have a 36 on my rig right now, so just for looks). I will send them to you if you like, better than me trying to explain it.
-
Yeah, rubber bands would be bad. Also you would definitely want to hold the mesh and not the outer skin.
-
Quite an eye for detail
-
Do you mean a hand held go and throw, and yes what lines?
-
As soon as I get an extra coupla hundred bucks, i'll have some. A few of my friends have 'em, and they say they are nothing but worth it (seems thats the consensus). Rex

Does getting a new license replace your regular USPA membership card?

Either way, easier to remember, right? -
