  1. Oh crap, I flew to Norway and made some BASE jumps yesterday, because of that post. Thanks a lot, guys! www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  2. HAHAHA! www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  3. Pretty cool... I have been wanting to fool around with time lapse for a while, but haven't got a chance yet. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  4. BUMP! The site appears to be working again, so if you weren't able to get to it before, you should be able to watch it now. CLICK www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  5. Hey man, I have DYTTERS, I am prepared!!! www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  6. I posted several weeks ago asking for tips on backflying. I've been practicing, and improving. I now have a large range of fallrate control and can float up on pretty much any flock I need to. There is still a small problem though. I'm having a hard time controlliing my forward speed, or to be more accurate - controlling my forward speed independently of my fallrate. Decreasing my fallrate increases my forward speed, and decreasing my forward speed increases my fallrate. So I'm usually either centered under the flock and sinking, or level with the flock but outdriving it. This leads to me flying weird oscillatory circles under the flock, which is funny since near the top of each circle I usually sweep by the base of the flock and give him a taste of my burble. This is a problem many people are familiar with from when they learned to fly a wingsuit or a high performance wingsuit for the first time, and as we all know this can be fixed by using your legwing (bending at the knees) for drive control, and the rest of your body for fallrate control. While on your back though, your knees bend the wrong way, and can't really be used for drive control. The best solution I have found is to keep the legwing partially closed, but it's still not perfect. The reason I think your knees work so well when on your belly, is because you are actually exposing the lower half of your legwing to the horizontal component of the relative wind and creating drag to slow yourself down that way, while keeping a large surface area projected downwards. When on your back and using the legwing-closing method, you sacrifice fallrate to compensate drive. Anybody have any better ideas/comments, or extensive experience flying relative to other people on your back? I'm looking to have a wide range, in both dimensions, while backflying, basically I'd like to be able to do anything on my back I can do on my belly. Except pull, maybe... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  7. You mean BASE and skydiving are different? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  8. I get pretty close to that. I have ProTrack left ear and ProDytter right ear. I get 4 warnings. Left@9k, left@6k, right@4.5k, right@4k, and dual sirens@2.5k. No, I don't depend on the audible, I watch the ground and I know what 4k looks like.
  9. Yes, it's been down for several days... I will bump this post when it comes back up for those who haven't seen the video yet. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  10. PM sent. As a sidenote, I've always hated "PM sent" posts and never made one before, but now I see how they can make sense... to save someone else the trouble of PMing Katee the same info I just did. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  11. There will be a wingsuit weekend at Lake Wales the 16th-18th. After that I'll be in Eloy, but I can guarantee you flockers will be at Zhills every weekend, and you might find 1 or 2 to jump with during the weekdays, especially closer to xmas. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  12. I was too busy running around being a video whore. You still owe me! Congrats again Katee.
  13. From my research on photography (non-skydiving) sites, it seemed that the HC90 had better low light performance and pretty good color. The PC1000 had slightly richer color but poor low light performance. I like sunset loads and I like saving $100.
  14. I heard from several sources (including Perry and Frederick who know more people over there) that it was her (the girl in the picture). Her name was definitely Annaleigh, the only thing I am unsure of is the spelling. I was just talking about it with Frederick when he was in USA last week. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  15. I didn't know it wasn't recommended - is this for all skydiving or for WS flight only? If it's for all skydiving, that doesn't make any sense because I know a lot of very experienced people who do that. If it's for WS flight only, I'm still confused, because I didn't know anybody had 4,000 WS flights yet. It's actually funny you made this post today because I was thinking about buying a chest mount today or tomorrow. I spent this whole weekend jumping with Scary Perry and some other Zflockers, and Perry and another guy ("My eyes" Jeff) both had chestmounts and were raving about them, especially for backflying, which I'm spending a lot of time doing now. Perry even had his student chestmount her alti. I use a Neptune on my wrist and have an old Galaxy that just sits around and collects dust, so I could spend a couple bucks and put it on my chest no problem. Then I could easily make some jumps in different orientations and compare numbers - I'll post my results.
  16. Freudian slip? I was skimming this post and got to this part and was like, WTF? I had to go back and read slower for it to make sense... www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  17. Yup, that's why I got the HC90.
  18. Do you consider the HC90 to have a small imager chip size? www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  19. I wouldn't say they "finally" hit their stride. They're still alright, but as I said before, I think their earlier stuff was far superior to the new. www.WingsuitPhotos.com

CRAP, I didn't even think about that. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  21. Why (and how) do you operate two still cameras at once? www.WingsuitPhotos.com

That's true... I bought my suit because it was shiny, smelled nice, and had cool zippers!!! Perhaps in the future somebody can educate me better. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  23. Yes, it was Annaleigh (not sure if I spelled that right). www.WingsuitPhotos.com
  24. My Spectre has worked fine for near 300 jumps. I have a Pilot coming in... I put some demo jumps on it and it ROCKED. We were video debriefing a flock, and after I broke off and was flying solo, the screen shook for a second and then it looked like I was still flying. Twenty seconds later (volume was muted), someone says "did you pull yet"? I wasn't even sure, but just then on the screen you saw me look up at a canopy to collapse my slider. If that didn't make sense - the opening was so damn smooth that watching the video you couldn't even tell it was an opening, without having the volume turned up! I demoed a Sabre2 and it seemed to take a bit more concentration to keep it out of twists (compared to what I'm used to - a forgiving Spectre) - but even with twists it flew great. With the Pilot you don't even have to think about body position. The few twists I got were untwisting themselves (fast) before I could touch the risers. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
