  1. where'd you find $1.42 in florida it's been about 1.58 - 1.64 this week but I just came back from california where it was $2.00 a gallon for the cheap stuff!! I was thinking what a nice place to live until I saw that...
  2. I've had mine done three times. It never swells, it doesn't get infected and I didn't pay attention to any of their warnings. If you use the watered down listerine solution before and after you partake of any of the forbidden activities you'll be fine. It heals amazingly fast. (Hence why I've had it done three damn times - I kept letting the damn thing close up!)
  3. anyone who cares if their car can outrun someone elses....
  4. delicious filet mignon (tenderloin) followed closely by a very tasty delmonico (or ribeye, if you prefer to call it that)
  5. Much more likely that you'll be hurt on the dropzone in the down times. Bad weather days at Boogies especially!
  6. Oh, when we tell him there is going to be DZ full of skydiving chicks drinking green beer - he'll probably hijack the planes whether john wants to send him or not - that's one way to make sure we have our airpower... I think I'll go make the phone call right now and put the bug in his ear.
  7. I'll try, try, try... If weather looks good up north, there is no way they'll part with the big planes yet since this is there last chance before the really cool weather moves in BUT I will do my best. The otter would be nice - if I ask for the Skyvan we really need to be able to keep that puppy flying or I'll be hung up by my toes after the weekend and beaten with a stick like a little pinata. At the very least I'll grovel for another Caravan just to keep things moving.
  8. Yikes! Are all these people really coming?? If they are serious and there is the possibility that there may be more then I am going to try to get us another plane for the weekend. How fun - for such an impromptu boogie! We have the Halloween party the week before, Lisa's welcome and then the Keys Boogie the following weekend - (any of you bytches coming to that too???).
  9. At all the dropzones I've worked at tandems have the option of backing out up until they get on the plane. If they freak out and don't jump after they get to altitude then yeah - they don't get their money back. They've been trained, they've been waited on, they've been harnessed, they've had a wonderful plane ride - especially when they get the rollercoaster dive back to the ground - so no refund.
  10. Yikes, scratch that reverse it..... and then I saw that there is a tiny little blurb in events as well. I'm new to the whole forum thingy...
  11. I have to agree that there isn't too much attractive about even the best toned bodies when they are distorted by really high wind speeds. Unless you've got silicone in your breasts - they somehow crazily become concave and flesh that is nice and taut normally is full of ripples. Everytime I see photos of naked jumps it gives me the heebies... Dance naked around the fire or something or walk out to the numbers at Orange naked - just keep your clothes on when you're in the air - it's fugly.
  12. Yes, lots of boogies do it. It would be a real hassle if everyone bought too many tickets and rushed the offices on the last day demanding all their money back. It would require that the organizers keep tons of extra money on hand and stay open late to accomodate everyone. So buy in moderation. And when DZ's and boogies sell blocks of tickets they are almost always non-refundable - they sell you the block at a deal price - figuring that if you buy and jump more that it will be worth losing a few bucks in the long run. If you then turn around and try to refund what you don't use - then the whole quantity advantage is lost. I get yelled at all the time by people who buy blocks while on vacation, are told they are non-refundable or transferrable for any reason and then guess what - they don't use them all and want their money back. Then I'm suddenly a bytche and horrible person because they don't understand non-refundable for any reason. Oh yeah, I forgot each one of us is incredibly, incredibly special and should be exempt from the rules....
  13. Maybe you shouldn't be so harsh on the manifest people - they are just doing their job. I work manifest not in Byron but if someone asked me to to refund something that I couldn't and then got nasty in a public forum I wouldn't be very happy and it isn't right. Take it up with management and if it was clearly posted or told to you that the tickets were not refundable then it really is your own problem. Lighten up on the girls.
  14. What chicks don't like is braggarts. Are you talking about non-skydiving chicks? They'll probably think it's really cool at first. Then when they realize that you spend all your free time and skip work and school half the time to go hang at the dz - it will lose it's appeal. As far as skydiving chicks go - they don't care whether you jump or not, so long as they get to...
  15. So now that the Bytche Boogie is official why isn't it in TalkBack instead of Events?
  16. Here are the actual names of streets and miles. EXIT 156 off of 95 - go EAST (this is rt. 512 also called Sebastian Blvd) You will go 3 - 4 miles and come to an intersection with Roseland Road. Take a left at Roseland and go another 3 miles until you come to the Sebastian Municipal Airport (you can go in the unmarked dirt road entrance or if you want to keep the dust off your car go to the paved airport entrance). From there park in either of the parking lots for skydivers and come on over....
  17. why not, we do six way hybrids at Sebastian - that's as simple as a four way round with two people standing under it...
  18. Got some new information on organizers for the keys. RW jumpers - we will have Roger Ponce de Leon and Boxman and Derek Thomas Freefliers - Dave Brown and two members from Elsinore's Sakibomb - Leon and Steak! CRW - Mike Paolin says he will be there and is trying to get some other CReWDogs there and will organize a little CRW action for us. Think of the pictures that will produce - colorful canopies over a little island surrounded by turquoise waters. If you aren't registered yet, hurry, hurry, hurry - time is running out.
  19. You didn't mention the awesome food that we get to snack on during the day - thanks to you!!!
  20. RWS brought down a rig with the skyhook about a week ago. I jumped it - it was a lot of fun. The surprise mal was fun to try to fly, too. They said they would be bringing another one out soon with a larger reserve (since that one was a 106 and too small for most jumpers). Even if the malfunction and the cutaway itself is not a surprise or even all that exciting - it's still good practice to land a reserve canopy. There are a lot of people out there who have never jumped F-111 and could use the practice landing the reserve without all the confusion and adrenaline after a 'real' malfunction and maybe just maybe they wont pound themselves in unnecessarily when the real thing happens.
  21. while we would love exploding things - our airport management and the fine police force of Sebastian are not so found of fires and things that go boom. It would make for a very unpleasant atmosphere if we were having to deal with the police all night long. They leave us alone if we don't blow things up or race on the runway. (I know - I'm a regular to DZ's that have huge firepits, blow up paint cans and have drag races on the runway - it's a shame!)
  22. If you guys don't keep us so busy in manifest that I can't get out of the office - I'd like to try a birdman jump. I need a little itty bitty suit....
  23. Macca-doo!!!! Come to the Keys anyways. There will be non-jumpers there as well and there are plenty of other things to do. We miss you at Sebastian!!!
  24. call me at 1-800-399-jump (5867) or email at wendy@skydiveseb.com. I'll hook you up!
  25. all the reasons everyone else gave and the fact that a fair number of DZ's will not allow you to jump a board there for a variety of reasons. The least not being that like Sebastian - the airport is surrounded by housing developements that really hate it when you drop boards or skyballs in their back yards - they don't even like it when you drop canopies in their yards.
