  1. That question would sound funny in countries close to Russia, as Mi-8 is most widely used helicopter for parachute jumps around there Different locations, different jumpships though In fact I know not much about the different helicopters, only made 3 jumps out of heli's - all of them were right into bright sunshine Such a North Pole jump must be very special... dudeist skydiver # 3105
  2. Now the real question, would you let your daughter date a black? My father in ancient times surely would have said NO! Today, as I am old enough I just say YES, please: Within a heartbeat, I would date Seal! dudeist skydiver # 3105
  3. Holy Jesus! Imagine John Lennon rotating in his grave That song always was special for me, with this voice, it's over dudeist skydiver # 3105
  4. ] Please don't get a picture of our country by the strokes of one persons' brush. No. Definately not Nearly all of North American posters I "met", if personally or via this site, were absolutely open minded, humorous and interested in the world. There are really many which show me a nice, beautiful face of their country. So, it would simply be ridiculous to generalize.
  5. Same for me during AFF. In Spain. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  6. Times are hard for him, much harder than for some other presidents. Not only for Georgie-boy, Mikey, for many others, too! F.e. troops somewhere overseas, beeing in the risk to be killed every moment. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  7. 1. Tell everybody, you're going to quit smoking. 2. Go to bed right now. Take a book and stop watching TV or talking to friends. Don't go out!!! 3. Good night. 4. Do not start with a fag next morning. If you used to drink coffee, forget it. Have a nice tea. Or the other way round

  9. Mostly, they do not even ask any question: Just freaking out, screaming : I'D NEVER DO THIS, HOW COULD YOU!?!?!? Knowing absolutely nothing! but, beeing absolutely sure to never ever do it In the beginning, I started with simple explanations until I found out: They do not need any, they do not want to hear any! So what to do: You just give up. dudeist skydiver # 3105

  13. The exceptions being the six jurors and you? Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. News: Judge sets deadline on R. Kelly porn case I guess everyone in Chicago has sex with underage girls, with you being the one exception? Hol crab, JohnRich, what kind of picture are you painting of your country? dudeist skydiver # 3105
  14. No. Me too. Damn, those tricky abbreviations in English make me stumble from time to time.. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  15. I'm gonna buy you a sense of humor for christmas. Hey, what a very fine idea! If it's available in bulk packing, would you let me know? I need to send it overseas. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  16. Hey! That's nice. With a little help from another European, I was able to find my place on earth but, stupidly, I added my username into the "shoutout"... Anyone has any idea how to change it?
  17. This is where I did the travel and booking through [/url]http://www.north-pole-expeditions.com/north_pole_skydiving.htm The president of that company really pulled through for the 3 skydivers at personal financial risk. He deserves a plug :) The exit altitude was 5,000 feet and the North Pole elevation was 6 feet (solid ice, nothing but ocean beneith that) Ground temperatures was -33 C (-28 F) and at altidue it was -40 C (-40 F) Holy Moses. For something special like that, I'd spare some money What kind of helicopter was it? You only were few jumpers? How many? You are not obliged to tell me but, I am curious: What does this fun cost!!?? How many m/ft did it take for your chute to open? In the video, it looked a little weird. Anyhow, WOW. dudeist skydiver # 3105
  18. Oh, sorry for you. Who's going to Friedrichshafen? Your headache at home would surely have been much more familiar. BTW: That part of Germany is quite nice. You know Konstanz? Bodensee? dudeist skydiver # 3105
  19. Can't let go, right? This family is in our TV since several days: They seem to be like aliens... (Deep inside I have to confess: Hats off! They look pretty happy and found their own lifestyle.) I had a close look to her hair: She's got a very long pony tail and the hair over (or combed back from) her fore head is a little bit old fashioned cut. But for what I know, men love long hair, so what? dudeist skydiver # 3105
  20. OK. You got me. I apologize as I am no beer-drinker and simply should shut up and let you alone with your crap, sorry, beer (do you still drink it WARM??) Aaarghhh.... my stomache, just the idea.... Cheers dudeist skydiver # 3105
  21. Perhaps she'd even force you to go completely Brit! This would mean no more hurricanes, giving up on massive quantities of fat-laden food, folk like Michael Jackson, George Bush & Michael Moore now being "quaint" personalities from another country! You'd have to completely give up on the possibility of accidentally shooting / being shot by a member of your own family! No more American cars - you'd have to get something that'd go around corners & do more than 10mpg! You'd learn that driving 100 miles for ANYTHING is a long way. You'd learn that 100 years isn't a long time. You'd need to develope an understanding of history that goes back a bit longer than a measly few centuries. You'd have to perpetually dislike the french while being abel to consume massive quantities of their excellent & cheap wine. Then of course you'd have to get used to bars being open when YOU want them open, being polite & getting served in turn. Learn that over 1 months paid holiday a year makes for happier, more productive workers. Learn that if you need medical care & treatment, the decision is made by a doctor, not your wallet or insurance company. It'll be hard... But worth it. Mike. Even I have to agree to the above, there are points which really have to be considered. GBritain: Driving on the wrong side of the street English breakfast makes fat They are not capable to make a good coffee (like the Americans, BTW) English beer is crap Pubs close too early It never rains in California.... It always rains in GB Police in GB is not armed (He might feel lost) Just to be fair.... dudeist skydiver # 3105
  22. You surely will not find Gawain under Botelline's address but, I am absolutely sure, Gawan will find out how much he's welcome if one day he should come to visit Spain, where the most open minded, friendly and beautiful people live. I know so many of them, not only from Empuriabrava DZ. Go to any city in Spain you like, nearly everybody's talking in English to you. Go to Portugal, they will welcome you at first in French, then in English. Perhaps they need a spell checker from time to time but, there are several others which need it, too. You made bad experiences in Europe? Or on what is your statement based "...not the most pleasant people...."?? In which European country have you been? dudeist skydiver # 3105
  23. Impressing and highly interesting! What was exit altitude, outside temperature? Wow, would like to know a little bit more about such an event
  24. On this point we disagree. We no longer project a positive image unto the world, and I feel that is bad for the well being of our nation (USA). I don't feel our image is negative. I believe it is the fear from others that is warping their perception, especially in Europe and the Middle East. Think about it, fear in the middle east that we'll stay in Iraq (I think we should) because there is fear of what that will do to their society (never mind that it's been in decline for centuries) and their perception of what we are due to their own misinformation. Fear in Europe that we are going to monopolize diplomacy in the region (I think we should) because they are aware of their own failures from Morocco to Iraq, and are incapable of envisioning any other way to do things other than sit, watch and talk about it. It's simply the way they allowed their policies to evolve over the centuries. US independence was a turning point for the British Empire. WWII was a turning point for colonial policies of France, Spain and others. From assertion, to insubstantial in a couple hundred years, and walking away almost overnight in the 1950s and 60s. The results have been untold, and near unchecked corrosive development across Africa to the middle east. Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia have suffered significant political and economic pains after French rule in the 50s and 60s. Italy left turmoil in Libya until Qadhafi made his coup in 1969. Egypt did fairly well after gaining independence from the UK after WWII. No need to comment on Israel. Jordan, while an ally of ours, is still a monarchy, even after the UK left them alone. Iraq's history shows no identity to itself. France walked away from Syria. UAE, Oman, Yemen have stronger ties to the UK than the US to this day. Sudan, Chad, Niger, Mali...the list goes on like a bad book. Your point of view regarding your own nation is stuck somewhere several decades ago. "Fear the US", holy crap, did you ever hear about Korea f.e.? Why, do you think, is your retarded leader GWB afraid of countries like the Iran? The US fears. Wake up. The world turned a few times since Hitler killed himself and the US raisin bombers dropped Cheddar down to the Berlin citizens. The US are overrated. But, only in their citizens' eyes. Ask the world around you.... dudeist skydiver # 3105
