Wow, that's cool that you could relate to it so well (I think ) For me, I just fell in love with the character Charlotte. I wanted to meet her...it kinda sucks realizing that she's not real (per se). Ever since seeing that, I've been completely infatuated with Scarlet Johannson...which would get you throw in jail, but we're the same age, so it's cool. Oh there's no question it wasn't pure excellence in movie-making. They deserved to win Best Picture. It just wasn't my favorite movie of the 5 nominated (See Lost in Translation and Mystic River). I could just never get into the whole middle-earth saga thingy...not my glass. They were damn well-made movies though. The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

Quade, I'm with you on this one. A lot of those categories that LOTR won, was simply because they were predestined to win Best Picture as well. That's what I hate about the Oscars, about 80% of the categories are given out by how good the movie was, not how good the specific item that is described in the category. Grr... PS: If anyone knows or has access to Scarlet Johansson, I love her, am obsessed with her, and would like her phone number. In honor of Dove's California Dreamin thread, I've decided to post whore and make a Florida Dreamin thread. I just found out I got accepted to the University of South Florida, and I plan on transfering there this fall!! Woohoo!! Who's with me? C'mon, it's warm down there, you know. 'Positively Fifth Street' by James McManus It's a book about a murder, and the World Series of Poker. Basically this guy gets paid by Harpers Magazine to go to Vegas and write a story on this murder, he ends up using the money the magazine gave him to buy into the $10,000 poker tournament, where he does surprisingly well.
