  1. Superb! --- One life...Use it.
  2. Great post ! So true! - made me shiver! I did AFF on my own...you'll be fine...ok, it might feel strange at first - intimidating almost. Just know that it'll all be better once the course starts - you meet others on the course, and on the plane rides! All the other skydivers know what you're going through, and you'll meet some super cool people with passion for life! Have fun! --- One life...Use it.
  3. Okay, okay...I'll own up! I made 10 points on my first 4 way....with 3 guys from Empuria...Obviously, I did all the hard work though The morning after, I did another 4 way with some guys at the DZ (just fun jumpers) - Man, what a difference!! - The 4 way turned into an upside down spinning mangle outta the door...when we eventually all decided to let go, we managed to get a three way and kinda hung there looking at the remaining guy 40ft below us trying to 'cup' and get back up to us...so I guess we managed a one-point-4-way (on the door) - and a one point 3-way But hey, it was fun! --- One life...Use it.
  4. Doh, I wish I hadn't started this thread ! In the BPA licensing system, you have to complete 4 points in a 4-way in order to get your FS1 license (enabling you to jump with other people). The question was trying to find out how many points people managed to turn on this dive....you must do at least 4! --- One life...Use it.
  5. Okay....just wondering how many points you managed to turn on your 4-point 4-way dive (skydive-u graduation dive or equivalent).... Just want to know if I was good or bad ?! --- One life...Use it.
  6. LMAO !! - Sounds exactly like mine! --- One life...Use it.
  7. Me'harties! --- One life...Use it.
  8. Yeah, the yellow ones are definately faster... --- One life...Use it.
  9. Isn't that a different kind of jumping ?? --- One life...Use it.

    cardio routine

I tend to mix a bit of steady speed, 45mins to an hour periods on the stationary bike or running with interval sessions of 25 mins or so... I don't too much running, as my joints get enough battering playing squash. The interval training helps for squash, but also is better for fat-burning. Intense 45second to a minute excersise on the bike, with 15 - 30 seconds rest. --- One life...Use it.
  11. Inconceivable...I've been out quoted ! --- One life...Use it.
  12. "I have something to tell you....I am not left handed" ...Oo-er, maybe we should stop there !? --- One life...Use it.
  13. .....Such a cool movie... "Inconceivable !" --- One life...Use it.

Damn....I missed it again! - I think it's been on TV before.... If anyone knows where I can get a divx of this, let me know! --- One life...Use it.
  15. Maybe you should empty the can first next time ?? --- One life...Use it.
  16. Easy one...just stop being a jerk...only you control what you do.... --- One life...Use it.
  17. Just make sure you stop for a few beers before you go home.... --- One life...Use it.
  18. I think it's fear....especially if you're new to jumping...whole load of chemicals going on there ! --- One life...Use it.

    Giving it up...

In my brief look into instructor ratings, don't you have to have a minimum of 3 years in the sport before you can even apply to take the rating ? That's why I thought packing was the only option for me at this time... --- One life...Use it.

Nice story....thanks! I was hoping to go and maybe to tandem rating etc...but looking at the requirements needed to be able to be a tandem master I'm gonna have to wait! - Might just have to pack! --- One life...Use it.
  21. I'd guess maybe the adrenaline was still in your body..I've seen people who just can't sit down and chill out after a tandem...they must be up and about doing something.... --- One life...Use it.

    Giving it up...

No...not skydiving ! Kind of a follow-on from SpeedRacers post about working to live... Has anyone here given up the whole 'nice car/job/house' lifestyle for something more 'socially unacceptable' (dropzone bum or whatever)..... I'd be interested to know if people regret making that decision or vice-versa ! Oh, yes...I am thinking of it --- One life...Use it.
  23. I'd tend to 'pity them' - unless they really are doing what the want to do by working all weekend ! - I'd bet that the majority do it cos they have to to be able to afford to live up to their lifestyle (house/car/etc).... As I'm getting older, I'm getting less and less materialistic...certainly since I did my first skydive !! From a certain film "the stuff you own ends up owning you..." --- One life...Use it.
  24. Yeah, I'm comfortable that I made the right decision at the time. The way I see it, a first mal is kinda like AFF jump 1...you've gotta take in all this new information quickly and do something - at least resort to your drilled procedures. I know now that if I had another line-over, I'd be in a better situation to recognise and maybe do something to fix it, rather than just thinking 'what the hell is that! -and chopping' So how do you go about fixing it? do you pull the offending line ? Dave. Oh, yeah, UK...the profile is vague cos I haven't got a rig or anything yet! --- One life...Use it.
