  5. I'm left handed and I generally pack left handed, both flat and pro, but i can pack right handed
  6. Only bring good weather for the following weekend - other wise it will wind us all up cos the weather is crap this weekend!!!!
  7. That's a cool game. The screaming freaked me out at first! Glad I'm not on any of those loads. Collapse also kicks butt
  8. would have to agree - nice Merc Kompressor in silver with leather upholsterey..... sweet! But it'd have to come with some gorgeous guy to chauffeur me around in it-since I can't actually drive yet!
  9. I know nothing about coding but that was seriously cool! That will be going round the circuit!

    YES!!!

Hope everything goes well! Thinking of your cousin!
  11. That's really nice. I generally jump with a St Christopher, but partly because my dad gave it to me for my first jump. And I do pray while I am in the aircraft. I guess doing something like skydiving makes people examine life quite closely, be it from a religious point of view or not.
  12. Mine weren't exctly thrilled when I started jumping (I started at 16), but they have never been unsupportive. My dad did kick off a bit when he had to sign the forms for my FJC and then for my first freefall (I was still under 18). He muttered things like "signing her life away" etc etc. And they have been to the DZ a couple of times, but they won't come back cos someone nearly landed on my dad's head (he was in the spectators area!). And they don't like watching now I'm Cat 8, but they still want to know how I'm doing and stuff, so just stick with it and maybe they'll come round, if they don't I guess all you can do is try to understand their position. Just my thoughts. Kxx

    Hello!

Oh yep, exams suck. I'm doing my a-levels at the moment, so I know how you are feeling! Hope all goes well this afternoon. And its bloody typical, isnt it.... fairly clear skies and I can't get to the DZ!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaarrrrrggghhhh!!! But it's okay cos next weekend, i am on half term hols and may just end up thinking screw revision, and go skydiving!! Kxxxxxx
  14. Like everyone else, I would like to send my thoughts and prayers to everyone involved. Can't imagine it. I too don't understand no pulls, but there you go- it happened and all we can do is try to learn from it and see if there is any way of improving what's taught to future students Kxx
  15. Again another, "when-life-sucks" poem (or for the pre-skydiving part of life). Footprints One night a man had a dream, He dreamed he was walking along the beach with God Across the sky flashed scenes from his life For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints; One belonged to him and the other to God When the last scene of his life flashed before him, He looked back at the footprinst in the sand. To his suprise, he noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only on set of footprints. He realised that this was at the very lowest and saddest times of his life This really bothered him and he questioned God about it "God, you told me that when I decided to follow you, you would walk and talk with me all the way. So why is it, that during the most troublesome times of my life, when I needed you most, there was only one set of footprints? I just don't understand why you would leave me." God whispered "My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave, never ever, during your trials and testings When you saw only on set of footprints, It was then that I carried you" Soppy? Yeah, I know, but I liked it! Love Kxxxx
  16. That'd be the one that they used in 4 Weddings and A Funeral, yes?
  17. I agree! How cool... gotta get me one o' them!!!
  18. Whether or not DZs are open is being left as individual club CCI's decisions. Brid was closed for over a month, but we are jumping again now, and yes there are now about 4 suspected cases of human foot and mouth. So long as they don't start culling the people, we'll be okay! (Sorry, that was a bit below the belt, wasn't it) Kxxxxxxx
  19. I don't yet have a skydiving sibling, but my younger brother has just turned 16 and is desperate to do a static line course. My other brother is 15 and he also really wants to, but obviously, he's not old enough yet. So, fairly soon we could all be jumping, which would scare the crap out of my daddy. Having said that, it seems to be a father-daughter protectiveness thing, cos he isn't so protective with the boys!!!
  20. Useless bit of information for you.. a nappy is called a nappy because it is actually short for napkin... and you use a napkin to catch the crap that you spill if you are a messy eater, with the skills of a four year old, and a nappy does the same on a baby's rear-end!
  21. I jump at Brid, but we haven't been jumping for what seems like ages now (in fact it will have been a month this weekend) cos of this stupid foot and mouth.
  22. Of all the skydivers that hang out here, are there many from the UK? I just wondered.
  23. Stella kicks ass - it especially kicked ass when I was in Romania one summer a year or so ago and they had no drinkable beer until the British Embassy brought some out to us that had been shipped over!! That was the nicest can of Stella I had ever had!
