I've just bought a new system, Pilot 168 Main PD160R Reserve. I'm 210 out the door and would be happy to keep the PD160R forever, regardless of any main I was jumping.

There should be a few wind socks about, when there are horizontal that means the wind is a specific speed, depending on the size, the larger the wind sock the faster the wind speed when horizontal, ask about to find out what speed they are. It's only a rough guide but it's good to know as a quick visual check from almost any where on the DZ. I think the ones at my local DZ are 15 & 30 mph.

Also, it's like crossing the street, all the people walking in from the landing are would expect all the traffic to be coming from the same direction.

This is all the BPA op's manual has to say about it: 11. RESTRICTIONS FOLLOWING A LAY-OFF Where a Student or Intermediate Parachutist has had a lay-off of two months or more, approval of the CCI must be obtained as to the type of descent to be made next.

Easter, I'm meeting people out there who are renting a car, so I was thinking getting one for one day one way would be quite expensive.

It was on the news here a few days ago that someone did a poll and somthing like 60-70% belive that the Hutton (sorry if it's spelt wrong) Report was a government whitewash and still trust the BBC more than the government.

I did my AFF 3 days, day 1 levels 1,2&3, day 2 levels 4&5, day 3 levels 6 & 6 again then 7. My 10 consols and hop & pop took another 5 days. But I did go to a dropzone that was open 7 days a week and I did stay there for 2 weeks.

Something I don't understand about the BPA insurance increase
jas8472 replied to gus's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Unlike the USPA, you can't jump at all in the UK unless you join the BPA. (that's my understanding anyway) -

I would highly recomend Empuria too, I did AFF there sept'02, AFF + consols in 2 weeks, total cost was about £1500 including accomendation and flights. Well worth it. www.freefallco.com give kevin mccarthy a call. -
Nethers reopened last weekend, there was only 2 lifts, but the weather is looking good for this weekend.
