Not sure if i should post this here or not. Looking to jump at San Diego on sunday, and dont know a soul there. I'm looking to hook up with some people on sunday. I live in Temecula and am willing to carpool with any of you who normally jump at Elsinore or Perris. Sorry but San Diego is the only DZ i can jump at so far til i get my own rig done. Not everyone has REALLY BIG BOY RIGS. "GOT LEAD?"

well lets see....on AFF level 6 I averaged 144mph and hit 157 all on my belly. is this fast? oh and my instructor was sitflying!! it was hilarious. What was really kewl was jumping in san diego today. I did a coach jump and the instructor had 12 lbs of lead a tight suit and was still all curled up to hang with me. I tried to tell him i fall fast. lol What was the coolest about the jump....well...everything...got to wear an actual sport rig instead of military (damn those are comfortable, Vector with a 340 main and 360 reserve) actually had a stand up landing too!!! Firs....uh hmm the one before my second stand up landing after nine jumps. Oh and damn near had a cutaway too. Damn canopy had 3 cells inflated and took about 6 seconds for the rest to open, 1/2 second longer and i would have chopped it. what was really cool was even though the canopy looked like a ball of shit above me, i didnt once get nervous...just thought ok this doesnt look good getting about time to go start grabbing these funny handles up here in front. Anyway, i had a kickass skydive and am excited as hell to be jumping close to home, Mississippi is just too far to travel every month. "GOT LEAD?"

it did not..and i think i am s.o.l at perris..but what the hay. Elsinore and now S.D. say ok..so i can live with that. damn i wanted to try that skyvan though. "GOT LEAD?"

I was about to make a post about NOT pursing skydiving if you weigh way over the limits like myself. Yes, i have 8 jumps in and loved everyone of them. But my saga as alot of you have been following has started to get to me. I want keep skydiving but the hurdles i have had to jump has been wearing me down. To be honest i had thought of giving it up today...but as a last resort i called SKydive San Diego (since they jump alot of military guys there) to see if they had a rig i could use for one jump to keep me current. Well by god..they said come on down and we'll do a coach jump with ya and have no problem with me jumping my rig once i get it done. So long story short...if you stay persistant it will pay off. no not at all. it is definatley all about the legallity of it. (i think) no worries though...im gaining a small army of people to help me out. p.s. i am definately going through altitude withdrawls this morning. "GOT LEAD?"

the canopies have all the military labels, and the rig has a label on one of the risers if i remember right. i dont think they are "trying" to keep me from jumping, they just want to make sure everything is 100% legal. are the labels im describing what i need and is that sufficient? "GOT LEAD?"

my rig doesnt have any of these #'s and they called Paraflight to find out. what does it exactly mean by "other military designation"?? someone help me out. "GOT LEAD?"

i was at elsinore and he was going strong he was 8 hours into it and on about 180 jumps at that time. i heard they were using 21 rigs. it was absolutley amazing. he was averaging a jump every 2.5 to 3minutes. at his current pace of 6 pm last night he would have 530 jumps made by 8:05 this morning. they were using two pilots and two planes rotating shifts. to tell you the truth..the pilots in my opinion are crazier than him..they were doing some hellacious dives to the ground and were making it to the ground before him in some cases. sorry im rambling but he was jumping from 2100 ft. it is raining pretty good right now and was thru the night so i hope he is still able to keep up the pace in the crappy weather. GO JAY GO!!! "GOT LEAD?" -
congrats on your tandem. AFF will be even better. Once you start learning to "fly", thats when it gets addicting. "GOT LEAD?"

who else on here spends more time sufing these posts, instead of working? i know i spend as much time on here as i actually do "working" "GOT LEAD?"

looks like i have gotten around the TSO issue and Elsinore (8 miles from my house) is going to let me jump it. Once we talked to Mike Gainey and Jay Stokes (thanks for the help guys) they cleared up the confusion with military ratings/TSO's. Yes i am STOKED!! "GOT LEAD?"

i have the XX canopies which are 370 ft2 "GOT LEAD?"

I've met and spoken to quite a few skydivers in the past few months, and I can honestly say every single one of them has been truely friendly and outgoing. I'm sure it must be a first! oh God...someone explain the f**st thing to him. damn..he'll go broke buying beer...i know i did lol "GOT LEAD?"
-
there is no "may" about it. get used to hanging on to me or go headdown. "GOT LEAD?"

dont sweat it. they worst part is the ride to altitude and the door opening. once your in the air it is all goone and all good. trust me..it make no sense but thats the way it works. another thing that works for me is not to look out the windows till it is time to go. another thing that works is to lay you head back and relax relax relax, kinda like going to sleep. works for me but someone else might have other advice. "GOT LEAD?"

yea it has two 370 ft2 canopies....they are plenty fast for me....landing is by far my weakest point. "GOT LEAD?"
