I find that my passengers for tandems do better when I have their hands in the toggles as well. If we take away all the danger in the world, one of two thngs has to happen. We wiull find something else to be dangerous or we will just refactor our baseline and what's considered "dangerous" will just change. It's more of a laid back kinda town. Food / Drink / Music are all important around here more than destination attractions. . I never used to be able to figure out how people rolled slippery ass sleeping bags up before. The damn strings on the end of those things never were long enough. Now that doesn't seem to be a problem any more. I think my overall awareness level has increased in things in general. We batch render our videos with WinFF to an MP4 format for upload to a proprietary storage (we decided we were gonna host our own to have things purely on our site). You can tweak things quite a bit to get the size where you want it though. We are creating a 512x384 video with a target bitrate of 512K in a x264 codec that runs about 30MB for a 9 minute video. Youtube / etc will take a direct x264/MP4 and it will save you quite a bit over uploading a pure MPG file. Uploading over a cell modem is gonna suck quite a bit. I am surprised that you can get cellular data services in any sort of speed that would be workable but not a straight broadband option. Kinda crazy. I agree with mccordia about using vimeo and replacing later if you have a desire for things to be higher quality. One of the things to remember is that a lot of people are gonna see these things and it will drive your sales up or down depending on if people think the quality is good or not. I actually have plans to increase the quality of what we are offering. It's all fun and games till someone walks in and murders a store manager. That happened at a local Walmart, two guys robbed the place and shot the store manager dead. They got the money, killed someone, and it freaked a lot of people out. They built a police station right there in the front of the Walmart. Staffed full time. With your stated experience, find a job as a packer till you can get more ratings. Otherwise, expect to need a LOT of cash to get the experience/jumps/training for ratings. I have been sunburned badly enough that I was questioned down the road a bit by my doctor as to why I didn't go to the hospital. Burn creme while expensive would do wonders on your more sensitive parts. Sunburn is in fact a burn, just like anything else. I like that one. As a camera guy, if they are having some major problem that requires that they pull now the signal that I would be using is the AFF pull signal. A lot of you jump at dropzones that can still fly the plane like this. Some of us don't have that luxury. If the people at my DZ who want to swoop only did hop and pops I would be up shit creek with a plane that sits on the ground. Same can be said if my non-swoopers didn't want to be on the loads with swoopers. Good luck! Although if I was going to The Aloha State, I don't know that I would go jump. I would rather spend my time doing all sorts of other touristy things and taking lots of pictures. I dunno, I bet the view is pretty fantastic there. FWIW, If you walked up to someone and yanked their reserve handle on my dz, you would be done too. It's not an appropriate problem solving tool. I have seen dudes ready to fight over much less offenses and it just isn't necessary. The reality of things is that, if someone is talked to by a DZO and doesn't listen, I would be astonished to see them not removed from the dropzone. These kinds of offences don't happen that often in reality and most of the time people shape up. Now, if you think something is a problem, talk to the jumper and the DZO, but the DZO doesn't agree, then I think you're either wrong or at the wrong dropzone. Yanking reserve handles is just about as stupid as physical violence and neither should be tolerated at any time on a dropzone.
