Yeah, I would go with the hardwire. Your right about the 802.11a my apologies. However I do get alot more range with my 802.11g than both of my friends 802.11b waps. I only use it for the laptop though, I ran the wires for the desktops. And what we did in one guys house (sort of an older farmhouse style) was use the cold air returns, and for one room we used a fish tape through the place that some poor cable tv guy spent a lot of time figuring out. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. You pretty much need to run cat-5. Trying to run data through old phone lines will get you slow speeds (if you even get a connection) If you can't get the lines ran you can try 802.11a or g both of which are 54MBps and have a bit more range than 802.11b ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. Well, the reason that there are ussualy no problems is because when you leave the plane you are going as fast as the plane. You "jump" out into the relative wind and start to slow down (forward/horizontal movement), but for the most part by the time your slow enough to be at the tail of the plane you have fallen (Vertical) quite a bit. I can say that I was not scared for my first tandem. For me it was more like a constant nervousness, that culminated in one of the coolest things ever (uh, looking out the door just before we jumped + freefall) Since then I have done AFF1 & 2, and I'm loving every second. Taking a friend along to hang out or whatever is nice too for your first time, because it gives you moral support/just a lilttle distraction to help ease you through (at least it did for me) Have fun, enjoy your dives... it'll be saturday in no time. (I drove myself nuts inbetween my tandem and my aff, I spent alot of time on here -

hmm... Besides skydiving I think that it would be cool to play piano. I am transfixed by piano in music and I think that it would be cool to play. Maybe after I get good at skydiving I will give it a shot, but for now I am going to concentrate on one thing -

I was sitting watching that new show on Showtime, 'Dead Like Me' and low and behold not even like 6 episodes in one of the people that died is a skydiver in a tree. ugh.. stupid shows. I hate the fact that things like that show up and make people think more negatively of skydiving.
