  1. Had a look on L & B's website for information on the jump track for putting my Pro Trac data onto computer, but i have an iMac and it all seems to be PC based. is anybody using Jump Track with a Mac computer or does anyone know if it it can be done? Searched for old post on this subject, but couldn't find any. Sorry if its already been discussed. Blue ones "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  2. Cool, thanks for the advice. The picture doesnt really show it very well though. The flat clear piece of landing area at the bottom of the slope is about 100' long then theres a small fence, then a track then some trees and then a steep enbankment down to a river, all of which run at right angles to the slope! Believe it or not all those are between the landing area and the cars that you can see in the picture! Its not quite as scary as it sounds, but i'm definately taking it into consideration before launching. ive thought of starting half way up first to try and access the glide angle etc.. Do you think that would be a good idea?? The attached picture shows the hill from above, the red line shows the bottom of the slope/start of 100-120' landing area. The blue line is the river! 3. yeah i know the canopy isn't great but i dont want to split my Sabre skydiving canopy from my rig just yet. The Falcon should be fairly docile though (loaded at 0.9) and hopefully shouldnt be to mad for a newbie. Ive got a PD 170 9 cell to try after that then i'll go ZP if that goes ok. Must be worth a try seen as i own them both and there just gathering dust!! I'll let you know. "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  4. ground launching isn't a massive thing int he uk at the moment but me and a pal have been out and "done" a few hills over here, there is again just no way of me popping over the america to do a course in ground launching, i'll learn as i go .. it's the only way i can...... Nice to here some up for it uk dude (like myself) getting the Groundlaunch bug!! Ive yet to make my first but ive been setting my ex skydiving harness/container up for it. Its an old talon with the reserve removed. The main is a Falcon 195 with p/c and slider removed. Let me know how your launches go in this country....i reckon the uk countryside had some massive potential. Check out the pic ive attached of a man made UN-USED!! grass ski slope nearby. Reckon its about 100' agl at the top and the photo makes it look much tamer than it is. (it takes some walking up!!) There is a landing area aswell just out of site, behind the trees. Blue skies... long swooops

    movies

point out all the mistakes. I know what you mean! I went to see the new Briget Jones movie at the cinema last week and it opens with a skydive scene. Had to hold myself back from pointing out so many technical mistakes.......damn i love being into this sport!! Blue ones. "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  6. QuoteI'm curious - Whassa "gainer"?? A 'Gainer' is a backflip from an exit point (i think) A common term in B.A.S.E. Also my favorite exits from Skyvan!! Blue ones!! "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  7. Hi 'yall I recently got diagnosed as having a Hernia in my lower abdomon, quite painfull but not too bad when i rest often. (like not being at work!). Ive got to wait for the surgeon to see me and tell me when i'm having an operation, could be a while yet. Wondered if anyone had been in a similar situation amd what its like jumping before surgery?? I know i'll have to lay off for some time after an opp but i need some more freefall therapy before hand!! Just wondered about opening shock...ouch or aaah! Any thoughts fellow Atmonauts?? 8. 'IN REPLY TO KENNEDY' - "I'D LOVE TO JUMP IT BUT AM IN NO POSITION TO DO SO" Check out my jump numbers...... ive done about 7 Atmo's now between 4 and 11 ways, and a couple of solos to practice the position!! When i'm jumping with others i just stay on my front and break off first. I'm starting to get the positon now and even though i'm not that good at it, its like everything in this sport...safety and practice. I love 'atmonuti', and even ive managed 75 seconds in freefall from just 13000'!!! Get trying it and ave some FUN!! Im hopefully gonna' get some practice next week at our home DZ boogie2, when Marco and GI ('Atmonuti' inventors will be coaching) Blue skies!! "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  9. I dont really use a credit card anyway, but the British Parachute Association thuoght it was time to give us members a card to flash around for whuffos to see. Check it out.....http://www.bpa.org.uk/bpa.htm "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  10. I spent ages looking for my first open face helmet to replace the Pro-tec i got on AFF. Tried a gath but to be honest they seem really flimsy and a Medium was to small and a Large to big! Was going for a bonehead but ended up getting a Z1 EVO from Parasports italia. http://www.parasportitalia.com/EN/headwear.htm The fit is really small... so if you would usually wear a large you will probably need a XL. Mines ok and looks cool in a French soul flyer sort of way Tried lots of different helmets before i purchased it and to be honest didn't find anything as comfy as the Pro-tec. There cool i think too if you jazz them up with paint and tye pull ups on the top! Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  11. I love trying as many crazy solo exits as possible! So hop & pops are great practice. I find that being relaxed and staying (lookin') cool is the quickest way of getting stable for the pull. Thinking to much about poising it used to worry me a bit when i first got my A license, then i watched 'Swoop 2001' at the Ranch on video...so many groovy exit ideas captured from the strut camera on the Otter!!! Might sound sad but its one of my favorite parts of the sport!! My personal favorite exit is rear facing layout into a backloop then 90' turn and then pitch. Ive been thinking of trying pitching the p/c whilst still coming out of the loop but looks abit scary to me Have fun, Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  12. Its probably a bit more of a British choice but just wondering if anybody jumps a modern zerox container?? Ive been considering buying one from Thomas Sports as an alternative to the much used Teardrop Superfly with its 'Pop Top' style reserve pilot chute. The Zerox looks quite upto date from what ive seen, but wondering about freefly friendly-ness etc... No reviews to look at as nobody has wrote one in gear reviews. Any views appreciated. Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  13. Ive got a Z1 Evo and my Pro-Track works splendid inside the audible pocket!! The thought of mounting £190 worth of audible on the outside and risking loosing it through a riser slap doesn't bare thinking about!! Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  14. Thanks for everyones tips and advice on the subject!! As it happens ive now jumped some more kit with a collapsible slider and the harness fitted me properly, the result was that i could reach the slider NO problem. Cool as a cucumber!!!! Blue skies everyone!!! "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  15. Jumped my first zp canopy the other day and it had a collapsible slider which my own present rig doesn't have. After dumping the main and pumping the slider down with rear risers i checked airspace etc..etc then completely forgot about collapsing the slider. When i released the brakes the slider got my attention by bashing hell out of the lines. I then tried to collapse it and discovered i couldn't reach the tabs!! Although i had the toggles in my hands making it difficult to work i still thought that i'd be able to do it. i'm not abnormally small or anything but the rig was a bit of a loose fit on me causing the arm straps to lift off my shoulders. Could this be the problem?? Has anyone had this problem?? Any solutions?? Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  16. Like everyone has said, if exit order and seperation is correct then theres not much need to worry about track direction at break off. The main thing i find is to give myself as much time as possible to track so i can have a good look round and even barrel role in the track before i deploy. Keep your eyes open for others!! Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  17. QuoteThere's a lot less profit in the sport over here due to higher tax on fuel and landing fees. Yea, like everything else in the uk the high prices get passed on to the public. 'Rip-off Britain' i think its known as!! Free/subsidised coaching would be fantastic. When i get to jump with experienced jumpers that just happen to be on my load its always great because you learn things under less pressure i feel. Still havent got my FS1 but the thought of messing the qualifying jump up when ive payed 4 slots obviously puts pressure on you to perform in freefall. I think the secret to skydiving is in relaxation!! the thought of £80 down the drain doesn't make me relax. Blue skies, cold beer! "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  18. Thinking of doing a Tandem for my 100th in 6 jumps time!! Possibly Drougless or Even head down if possible!!! Anybody done Head down Tandem before??? (will be keeping clothes on!! i live in coid england!!!) "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  19. Nice one dude! 'You know your a skydiver when before you buy anything you work out how many jumps it will cost!!' Then you start with working out how many jumps your belongings are worth!' Then its either, get a good job, or become a DZ employee/bum Blue skies. "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  20. QuoteTHE ANSWER IS EASY: do whatever seems fun (within reason I think your right! Some people including me get all worked up about what they can and cant do in skydiving with different rules and reg's...I try and remember its all about having a great time. I'm still a newbie but with the right advice, kit and an AUDIBLE alti (a must) ive started freeflying. If your responsible enough to jump out of planes then i think you should no what your capable of in the sport and no whats safe to be doing at your level!! Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!" 21. I'm still under the impression that the Skyventure tunnel will open this year at Milton Keynes xscape centre!!! (september??) Also heard that one is being talked about for the new Xscape in Glasgow and possibly Castleford if that one takes off!!! But then again this is the uk!! Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!" 22. An 'A' license is your right of passage. It turns you from a Student into a skydiver!!! Plus when you get your 'A' .....beer rules apply! Mines a Corrona with Lime in Blue skies dude "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  23. I think flying skills are what make you look cool not just fancy kit. However as a newbie my skills are only just starting and looking cool/fashion is important to me. i love the sport and the whole culture that surrounds it and looking cool is just another bonus part of it for me. Each to their own though! Safety, practicality and value for money come first though. Look Good Feel Good!! Blue skies! "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  24. All my jumps are my favorites!! But did "Horny Gorrilla" 2 way for the first time this year, and loved it! And the sun had just gone down so the street lights were on, almost a night jump.....well cool Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
  25. Some top solutions from everybody, thanks. I think i'm going to mount my pro track on the inside of the helmet. Are they loud enough if you point the speaker away from your ear? (have the display facing inwards) And is the LOUD setting very loud in freefall? Blue skies "swooper 24/7, 365!" ME on Myspace My Project playlist
