  1. I don't really recommend an audible at your stage in the game. What I do recommend, is that each and every time you initiate the pull sequence you take advantage of that moment to be aware of what the ground looks like. Log it into your memory bank. Soon you'll just know when it's "time" before you ever hear a beep or glance at your alti. If you do choose to jump an audible, set the first tone for just below break off. That way, you are developing an internal freefall clock. As you track off, you should hear that break off warning. Same with the pull signal. You should already be going through the pull sequence BEFORE you hear the second beep. For the "you already fucked up" beep.... the third. Just set that at your hard deck for main deployment. For myself that is 1500 feet. If I haven't pulled by then, I'll just go for my reserve. (And I have). Otherwise, you and your AAD may have different ideas about how to terminate the freefall. It is my opinion that when you jump an audible from the very begining of your skydiving career, you may build a dependency on the device. We don't want you waiting around for some beep all the way down to cypres fire..... IF that backup device works. Make yourself a good alert skydiver. Than back yourself up with the electronics. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  2. Johnson & Johnson's no more tears shampoo, a Strawberry Shortcake doll, Strawberry body wash, and a razor.... up high. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

  4. Trust your instincts and go at YOUR own pace. As you ease into the 150s and smaller, please keep in mind that your toggle input is much more sensitive. Practice your flat turns and brake turns BEFORE you get on the 150. Get good at it. No panic turns. If you get a side gust on landing and are being pushed to the side DO NOT REACH to brace your fall, or you will turn yourself into the ground. Just use small input to push back into the wind. Under 1500 feet don't be snapping your toggles too quickly. If you crank a turn in one direction, ease out of the turn before initiating a turn in the other direction. Failure to do so can put you into line twists. That would be bad at a low altitude. There are a lot of things to consider with small parachutes besides wing loading. Feel free to PM me ANY time if a question should arise. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  5. Action Air in Davis CA has three used cypres in stock right now. I have one, but I need to call everyone on my wair list to see if they need it first. If you can't find one, and want to be added to the wait list, then just PM me. We used the cypres calculator to determine price. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  6. You seem to be a fine diplomat. Best of luck. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. And there are plenty of folks who use the Neptune as their primary altimeter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  7. What did you jump during your student progression? What will you be jumping as a 150? Congrats on your new rig. That's awesome! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  8. Tell him to quit dipping a knee when the TM deploys? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  9. My husband has jumped a very broad range of containers. He still claims that his Voodoo was the most comfortable rig he ever owned. My customer feedback on the Voodoo is great. Those that jump them, love them. I have not seen anything negative about the resale value. I've sold a few resale. They were well taken care of, and resold easily.... .....that is unless they had a big dragon fly on the main flap! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  10. I would have to disagree. Our dropzone is located about an hour from the silicon valley. The majority of my customers are engineers, computer techs, etc. Some of whom are currently working on solutions to improve techniological advances in our sport. If you are joining the skydiving community, remember. It's a community. If you come in and you don't like what is being served, then bring something to the party that you will enjoy. We'ld all love to see what you've got. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  11. Yup. A senior rigger cannot modify their container any way they see fit. We have the FAA and TSOs. Gravity Gear!
  12. I'm sorry. I thought this was Gear and Rigging; not Speakers Corner. I'm also sorry that you are paranoid. If someone wanted to mess with a skydiver, I don't really think hacking a Neptune would be very productive. I'm actually surprized that your mind even went there. And a bit frightened to ever meet you at a drop zone. WTF? Over. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  13. Liability? Another neat feature of this industry. It's sorta high risk. You're sorta local. You can come up to Byron and check out the software. Gravity Gear!
  14. This post sort of turns my stomach. Sure. You're really smart. Possibly have a great job programming something important for someone important. Keep in mind that the manufacturers in this industry have traded high paying jobs to pursue their passion for skydiving and to fullfill a desire to keep the sport progressive. Your trying to save a buck doesn't really do much for perpetuating the sport, nor the advancement of the sport. If you have something valid to offer, contact the manufacturer. Perhaps you can work something out with them. Or maybe start your own company in a very small industry an make your own toys. Please take a moment to look at the big picture and review your basic economics. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  15. Could it be that you were flying in half brakes when you cranked that 180? That would do it for sure. Are you jumping an RSL? A cutaway at 1200 feet would have you wanting one. I have seen self induced line twist with a cutaway at 1000 feet and no RSL. She was on it like a fly on shit and got everything out in time. Even time to turn into the wind. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

  17. I expected to see a pink spot! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  18. Can you elaborate on this or explain why? Canuck Yup. I want to know too. On many occassions I've had to get on my head to get to and stay with a student. I've docked and corrected students while on my head as well. I also have good video of myself and Hookkit doing an AFF. Although you would swear it was a freefly dive... until I flip the student over. Honestly, I don't think of what my body is doing. I just point my head to the student and get there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  19. Which one was Frenchy? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  20. What the world.... ....needs now... .....is love....sweet love... ..not just for some, but for everyone! Stuck there since Saturday night. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  21. That's why it's important to get your heart rate down at pull time. It's the moment of truth. An anxious moment. When I teach skydiving I don't focus as much on the technical details as I do teaching how to relax under pressure. The moves are simple. It's the relaxing part we all need to learn to master. Use the waive off to take a deep breath and practice crossing your arms smoothly, then the next step will fall into place nicely too. I know all too well about taking time off and returning. Even with 2300 jumps, I get first jump jitters after some time off. I really focus on breathing and taking things one step at a time. Review everything on the ground, right down to emergency proceedures. Then once you are in the plane think only of the next step. Glad to see you're back in the air. Do your best to stay current. It makes all the difference in the world. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  22. Where you wearing gloves? If not. Consider slowing down and actually feeling what you are doing. Pull time is a time when your stress level goes up. Take the time to breath and make smooth and deliberate movements. When I haven't jumped in a while, I like to regulate my breathing just prior to exit and again in my track and waive off. The more you can control your heart rate, the more effective your movements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  23. Be careful Gatorz or other sunglasses. They don't fit everyone well enough for freefall. You should try them on first. If you choose sunnys, you should be able to have them sit flush against your cheeks without allowing too much air in. Some is okay. They should be secured with a strap such as Chums or another brand. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  24. Nah. Flo Green and Pink fade too quickly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
