  1. /me walks away muttering.... dang I am screwed, all this time I thought windows used all 4 letters. hmmm...I wonder why my default action for .htm it different .html. Sorry, but your post is just flat wrong (depending on the version of windows perhaps) All you need, although this thread is all confused by now, is this: On your computer: .AIFF to have the defualt action for a media player, because that is what .AIFF files are. This may to a degree be hampered by things like Winamp Agent, that maintain control of the file association to keep things like Real/WMP from stealing them. .AIF to be associated with Quickbooks. However, there might be syntax switches that designate what quickbooks would do with the file, they are under the advanced options. All that being said, in Windows XP, Open with... is easiest and works great 90% of the time. On the 'other' computer: You associations will not make a hill of beans. Further more, if theyare opening Quickbooks, and choosing File -> Open... and it still will not open, something is wrong with the file!! It has nothing to do with associations. If you are emailing it you might seriously examine the MIME settings for whatever client you use. Registry fixes, if someone wants them: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm An exception is image files with the stupidass preview option, that can only be editted at a reg level: http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/1207/ M$ details on associations: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307859&sd=tech -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

  3. It might eerie what is on YOUR computer, I clean mine I am not a huge fan of google, but on the flip side, I HATE the windows search, that is pretty basic. Will I run this, not sure, but a neat idea nonetheless. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  4. Ok, I buy half of this. I have this like 30 minute 'boink window' after going to bed. It is not uncommon to wake just 'tackling' the other person. Like I wake up out of pure sex drive or something. So, that seems kind of possible. HOWEVER..... There are some really disturbing point here: Where the frig are the other people coming from? And who the heck partakes in sex with a sleepy zombie person? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  5. Or run outlook. They both blow, but outlook blows with a lot of options. seriously, maybe just set your default browser app in outlook express. I would tell you where, but I have no idea, I will not touch express anymore. Well, maybe if a really really hot naked freefly chick asked. But she is at work right now, so.....no. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  6. In other news, Tiger's huge yacht docked in his fiance's slip and unloaded 'terrorist stow aways'. Intelligence suggests the stow aways headed inland via a marsh pasage for a night of amphibious assualt and pillaging. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

  8. If you are basing that on my statement, don't. I have not musical talent. Besides, Apoc. only covered some of their songs...don't have the CD in front of me. I just think of Apoc. as heavy and Angry strings as less so. However, that is probably in large part based on the source GNR vs. Metallica. And when on a bas cello, you can only go so high. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

  10. Check out CDs from a group called angry string orchestra. They do tributes, the one I am listening to right now is to Guns'n'Roses, and it ROCKS! Anyone that is a fan of Apocalyptica will probably dig this, although they have more range and less bass than Apocalyptica. I am digging it. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  11. I don't have a link to this at the moment, but I have typically read that the idea of a second hand high is mostly false or a placebo effect. In order to get high, you have to absorb the smoke to an extent. Unless you are hanging with multiple people in a closed room, (or 10,000 people in a closed concert) I really doubt you would get any high. But your point is valid none the less, I am sure IF it were to ever happen it would be at least as regulated as tobacco smoke, and we all now how 'quarantined' that is. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  12. I found this pretty intriguing. While M$ is busy putzing around with an object based file system that may never come out, google has introduced a google search using your current file system. It wil search documents, your email inbox, AIM logs, etc. It is pretty specifically Windows and Microsoft formats, but an very interesting idea. I have not tested it or installed it just yet, reading the EULA. 13. Thanks, had not seen that in two days How quickly we forget. Instead lets get on national television and make general opinion statements like "'It's a backdoor draft,' some would say" and speak in the third person for everyone from Cheney's daughter to our National Guard. Hmmmm, yeah that sounds like a good idea. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  14. Perhaps you missed the part about Canada. Now go research how Canada treats it, and you will find out she is 100% correct. You will NOT EVER get busted for smoking in Canda, only for 'commercially producing'. http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2003/1110/146_print.html Thank you for your flame, now sit down. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

  17. Won't do anything if you still have to rely on their proxy as a gateway. This thing sounds worse that SurfControl, and makes me really glad I don't have to put up with bullshit like that anymore. Course at netadmin, it would matter much. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  18. Sounds like at least partially a proxy product http://www.n2h2.com/products/bess.php?device=how_it_works If that is the case, there is not much you can do to get around it, because you must traverse their proxy. Are you at school? Using their connection? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  19. I agree with you and dave. The real issue (and in my opinion the downfall of a LOT in the US right now) is personal responsiblity. This can apply to anything, and will always affect anything that can possess negative effects. You can be addicted to all kinds of things, the huge majority of which are not illegal, including sex. I believe the line is drawn where you begin to affect others. You wanna ride without a helmet? Damn straight, and it is my right to do so in Texas. Just don't expect the government to pay for your actiions. This is exactly how Texas does it, you must have x amount of health insurance to ride without. My point it that I believe the laws should be based on the danger to society, not to yourself. In this regard I see marijuana as no different than alcohol. I am sure you could argue about this, but I am think it would be accurate to say the health risks are no worse than drinking and smoking and no more addictive. As for 'drugs' alcohol is a drug, so is tobacco, and so are the millions of pills people are addicted to using a perscription. So, I think the war has long been lost, marijuana usage among my age group is staggering really. I would interested in figures, but it seems like it would be as high as the 60s. 21. Have you opened it in IE to determine it is a global setting or in Firefox? I would suspect it may be a handling option or a CSS issue. I use MyIE2, but it has a myriad of thing you can choose not to process, images, scripts, etc. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  22. Yeah, I kind of echo dave. First of, congrats on the right choice and quick thinking. Mine: it was more of a rush than anything. But mine was a damaged canopy with broken lines. It was flying stable, with nylon top skin flapping. The real rush was having the time to look at the ground, decide here goes, and pull. It seems like an eternity, but looking at the video, you have hardly tell what steps were taken, until I turn to see the main. Two things were slightly disturbing: 1. I have no idea was caused it and it was a BRUTAL opening, on yes a Sabre. PD repaired it, but even they were not sure of the cause. 2. I had packed it the night before for a night jump that fell through. I am not sure I would have seen the damage at night, probably, but still an added risk. Since the main had to be repaired, I had a while to think before I got back in the air. The first few pack jobs were kind of over cautious, but then went back to just accepting it as part of the sport, and something that worked just like it was supposed to. Looking back now....the feeling is pretty much all rush. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

  25. Wasn't that a dog dave?? Actually it is all an illusion with Harley's the chrome simulates speed. But it always encourages female companions over 20 to shed clothes.
