  1. DUDE, thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten about the 3D version. It is playing in Dallas, awesome, gonna go this weekend. http://www.guidelive.com/portal/page?_pageid=33,97325&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL&item_id=21481 -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  2. AGREED! I need to buy tickets, they will be here in a month. I went last year....and it was incredible. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  3. Yepper, Jean Loic Albert (sp?) it is on one of the soul flyer DVDs. Absolutely incredible in my opinion. I am surprised most people have never seen it. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  4. No, but there are alternatives, including of course Premiere. You might try this as a free entry level: http://www.avid.com/freeDV/index.asp It is the little brother to AvidXpress The fact of the matter is that most people just want a friendly gui in vid editting. Most casual users just want to use firewire and play. Most video editting programs can do more than the user ever will. It comes down to user friendly. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  5. Ok, so you know why you need one and how to use it, go get one. Is it your only machine? Does everyone else know? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  6. Don't let your roommate touch it? But for now, how about just reload the software. Windows XP will burn with nothing more than burners for the driver. If you want burning software, reload the CD that came with the drive. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  7. Well, I had a really nice long response and the proxy demon ate it...soo....I dont feel like retyping in entirety. 1. Dell support, support, support. The ability for next day replacement of bad crap can be a huge value! I love it even at work, where I have plenty of knowledge and no time. For the same price +3 years, simple choice is dell. 2. Early e-machines, blah, blah. Maybe they are good now, I have no idea. But the last time I touched one they were CRAP. So, just like Compaq, I don't touch them any more. You can only waste so much time before you say not again. In any case, I don't want emachines support at my local best buy. 3. Building your own machines is good for control, not price. I have built every machine of mine since probably 96-ish. Just like putting a Mikuni carb on, it offers exactly what you want. But cheap is not the goal. Neither is support. I can afford to tweak stuff in order to support a machine that does vid cap, dvd burning, multi video and audio output, including optical, home theater, remote control, wireless remotes, etc. My mom can't. And most people that just want a pc, can't. 4. Macs: Tell me why you need one. If you can't, then you don't. PCs are still the default choice based simply on availability and price. I like Macs, I would like a G5, but for specific reasons. Pretending they are another general purpose PC just is not accurate. They are an internet terminal (Imac) or a high end workstation (G5 series). They are not a cheap common solution. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  8. You have to watch dell very closely, they run specials on a weekly basis. If you have a rebate offer now, it will be gone next week, and might have a free printer offer instead. For this reason, I say if you think it is good, go for it. If you are not sure, you might find a cool accessory next week. They use bundled marketing a lot, plus like free LCD upgrades, etc. Consider those when you evaluate "cheaper" next week. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  9. Well, I guess it all depends...I say get a Mac if you are a graphic artist/content designer/musician, etc. There are some very high end awesome programs for Mac. OR if you are very limited in comp knowledge and you want something that just work, without all the bugs in the world written for it. Otherwise....PCs are just too cheap and common. They are the workhorse, the taxi cab. Just in random software availability alone it is cheaper to own a PC. That does not even count any 'special' mac hardware you have to buy. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

    Sushi

I believe you are correct in the name. I prefer raw salmon to smoked salmon. I mean I enjoy smoked salmon, but more with crackers and wine. I don't really see it as my typical sushi. I will say, my favorite sushi place in Arlington has a signature Wasabi Crusted Salmon roll, that is AMAZING. The salmon is actually cooked, and the roll is served warm, with wasabi and breadcrumbs on the outside, along with a combination of sauces....oh...yeah. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

    Sushi

Also beware of names, every sushi place on the planet makes a different roll with each name. Also, try to looking for rolls with tempura shrimp or crawfish and asparagus, avaocado, etc. Some of it is actually pretty tame. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Pron, sometimes also pr0n, with a zero, is netslang. It is a merger of the l334 hax0r speak of AOL script kiddies days, and the time period where porn started to become more open with the advent of the internet. A common type-o became a cliche, much like the "teh hot" = hottie, or intarweb = internet. So, in this case I have no idea if I reverted habitually or just typed-o. So, how about that sushi, huh? -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  14. Yeah, I used Thyme with this one. Very nice flavor with the feta combo. Basil would be good as well, but a bit sweeter leaning. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

Wow....you saw porn before the internet? I learn something everyday...incredible. More disturbing you must have seen more disgusting pron than most guys in the world. That is an accomplishment sunshine. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  17. Nice...very nice....envious. Although earlier this week, I cooked dinner for a super cool person i know And we had Shrimp/Feta pasta with a variety of olives, garlic and tomato, all tossed and slightly warm. MMMMMM, and it was appreciated -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  18. Pro would be much nicer particularly to support, although you may never know the difference. As for Mac: You know I heard (rig manufacturer of your choice) is better than everyone else. Macs are nice, but they are not quite mainstream yet. The bulk of support, knowledge bases, and software is for the PC. There are reasons to buy a MAC, in fact I would enjoy having one as a second machine. However, I don't feel buying one for casual use typically makes much sense. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

    Sushi

Was that that one with the japanese girls and tons of little eels? One of the worst links I have ever seen....never again. But freshwater eel is nothing like that. In fact, you would not know it was eel except the title. It comes out warm (smoked I think). Very yummy. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.

    Sushi

Dr. Pepper and sushi...now THAT IS gross. Must be water, tea, or sake. And I agree with Kev....I love eel. I have a friend that does not like the kelp, so currently I am trying to find sushi with minimal kelp. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
  22. Someone sent this to me, I take no credit for it. But it just blew my productivity for the day I have been having trouble keeping my monitor screen clean and discovered that the contaminant was coming from the inside of the glass. After considerable research, I discovered that the problem had already been solved by a firm in Holland. You might want to clean your monitor from the inside too, so just click on the link below and use your mouse to get the dust off. I found that an up-down motion gives the best results. Pizza !

Giordano's in Chicago...mmm....true pizza 'pie'! Cannot get enough. Thin NY style from some random family shop on any given street in manhattan can be great to. In my neck of the woods, Uno's and Piggie Pies are best. For toppings...love variety, from eccentric Feta Chicken, to good loaded supreme, bring it on. Sushi

I think there are a couple reasons why people cannot seem to get over sushi: 1. the raw fish perception. People get this nasty image of what they think they will be eating. Most people I have taken are then amazed that it really does not taste anything like 'fish' if prepared right. People that get this perception and refuse to sway from it, annoy me. 2. texture issues. The texture of sushi is quite different most other foods. Personally, I love the texture variety, and think texture is a huge part of the culinary experience anyway. Even within sushi you can range from tender like tuna to crunchy like calamari, it just weird like flying fish eggs. At least if you try it, and the texture is really not appealing, then you have my respect. It is unfortunate that a lot of people try some generic sushi without any guide and the write it off. That is like writing hamburgers off after eating at McDonalds. I love sushi, and I still hate mediocre sushi. The ingredients are so critical. To give it a fair shot, you must try a good restaraunt, and have an experienced eater with you. After that, make friends with the chef, sit at the bar, and try whatever he comes up with...you will be amazed. -- All the flaming and trolls of wreck dot with a pretty GUI.
