A lesson that should be taught in all schools
akarunway replied to BillyVance's topic in Speakers Corner
How about critical and independent thought instead of indoctrination. Then why put your kids in public schools? I never would. My bitch ex wifes did. I had no say. I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. -
Skydiver Running for Vermont State Representative

Who is your speech writer? I was just elected into office in my local union and I need help w/ my acceptence speech at my swearing in in 10 days. Damn. They want me to wear nice clothes and shit. I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all. -
Edwards said that he's willing to take a test for paternity. I want the bluff checked. Is he counting on the idea that we won't demand the check simply because he dared us to do it and claimed he doesn't fear it? CHECK HIM OUT. I want to know if he's compounded the initial lies with another whopper about whose kid it is. What does it matter if the child is his? He comitted adultery and admitted it. Of course, it matters. Lots of people commit adultery. Only the lowest scum of the earth deny parenting a child. Well. As he won't be running for office now what business is it of ours? I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

that's funny, most of "You Americans" dont have a frigging clue what happens outside your backyard. let alone how and why a world view might be of you. Just as funny, is that most people in the world tend to think that they understand the American ethos. WHile most of the world is occupied bitching about America, Americans are busy going about their lives knowing that these faults are rarely their fault. So Americans, as a whole, don't have a friggin clue about what's going on outside our backyard. Indeed, that's likely true, because here we've got a saying, "Good fences make good neighbors." In other words, "My business is mine, and yours is yours - unless you are invited." Now, our government is like every other - crashing others' parties. But we the People - we have our own business to worry about. What goes on outside my backyard? I don't care, so long as my backyard is kept out of it. The pervert neighbor? I built a better fence an he is no longer an issue. Perhaps he's jerking off on his back patio right now, but that's not my business. Incidentally - I mowed my lawn this morning. I guess I felt the need to take care of my backyard instead of fretting about what the neighbors were doing (though I did wait until 9:00 a.m. I see no need to disturb my neighbors' repose). The rest of the world has its reasons for doing what it does. I respect that. Americans have their reasons, too. We're too busy doing our own thing to be caught up in what Australians are doing. We don't mind that Aussies do things differently from us - or that we ddo things differently. America has been the leading worl innovator for the last couple of hundred years because we think differently. Viva la difference.

So it would seem--if your only source for becoming misinformed is corporate western media, esp. Faux news. [Pravda never had it so good]. In fact, Georgia flouted the UN General Assembly's request for a truce during the Beijing Olympics. They have pummeled civilian targets in South Ossetia--some might call it "ethnic cleansing". Georgian tanks and infantry, aided by Israeli military advisers, captured the capital of breakaway South Ossetia, Tskhinvali, early Friday, Aug. 8. The Georgians engaged in artillery and missile volley fire into civilian towns--completely destroying many areas and killing many people. Russian warplanes bombed only AFTER the Georgian's invasion of South Ossetia. Here's the second layer of the onion you missed on ABCNNBCBSFox: "DEBKAfile discloses Israel’s interest in the conflict from its exclusive military sources: [Israel] owns a strong interest in Caspian oil and gas pipelines reach the Turkish terminal port of Ceyhan, rather than the Russian network. Intense negotiations are afoot between Israel, Turkey, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Azarbaijan for pipelines to reach Turkey and thence to Israel’s oil terminal at Ashkelon and on to its Red Sea port of Eilat. From there, supertankers can carry the gas and oil to the Far East through the Indian Ocean. Aware of Moscow’s sensitivity on the oil question, Israel offered Russia a stake in the project but was rejected. Last year, the Georgian president commissioned from private Israeli security firms several hundred military advisers, estimated at up to 1,000, to train the Georgian armed forces in commando, air, sea, armored and artillery combat tactics. They also offer instruction on military intelligence and security for the central regime. Tbilisi also purchased weapons, intelligence and electronic warfare systems from Israel. These advisers were undoubtedly deeply involved in the Georgian army’s preparations to conquer the South Ossetian capital Friday. In recent weeks, Moscow has repeatedly demanded that Jerusalem halt its military assistance to Georgia, finally threatening a crisis in bilateral relations. Israel responded by saying that the only assistance rendered Tbilisi was “defensive.” This has not gone down well in the Kremlin. Therefore, as the military crisis intensifies in South Ossetia, Moscow may be expected to punish Israel for its intervention. [DEBKAfiles.com--an *Israeli* independent news source] And that's the REST of the story. We return you to your regularly scheduled pablum. No. It's not about oil. Where have I heard that before. > http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L9618164.htm Russian jets targeted major oil pipeline-Georgia 09 Aug 2008 14:07:00 GMT Source: Reuters TBILISI, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Russian fighter jets targeted the the major Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline which carries oil to the West from Asia but missed, Georgia's Economic Development Minister Ekaterina Sharashidze said on Saturday. Believe it or not, Grover Cleveland was ELECTED President after admitting to knocking up a woman out of wedlock - and this was in 1888 ! Of course he manned up and admitted it right off the bat, and also provided for the upbringing and education of his child. Edwards is so far denying paternity, but if one of his campaign shills is volunteering to take the rap for him - why is no father named on the birth certificate ? Watching ABC interview w/ him as I type. He fessed up to everything. (Well. MAYBE everything) He is a lawyer/politician. Smart move. Break out the popcorn. A military jury gives him 5 1/2yrs. w/ 5yrs. time served. The pentagon says after the 6 mths. the can hold him anyway as a illegal combatant. I know it's happening in the criminal justice system in the U.S. also. Is this is what this country is coming to? >http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7547261.stm Fuckin sad. Flame away righties. Nice pics. Only problem is the USA can only print so much worthless money to pay for these aircraft. I think China actually owns them. Too bad all those union workers drove the cost on them so high, huh? I can make more money working non union nowadays if I were to choose and drive the prices up further. I just have to compete w/ all the illegals I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

How far back does it go? To the beginning of mankind I would imagine. So. How do we stop all this needless shit going on in the world? My vote is to abolish any belief in any sort of a god. No no no, remember, this is for the European point of view. Mark the line about ten feet to the right of centre, then put your dems and reps a fraction of an inch each side of it Shouldn't that be Meters, CM's DM's, Liters? Damn. Sounds like a good Euro rap song. I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

Dear DeVoll, I mean, JohnDeere: We should assume you meant "answering" and "wandering", right? Just checking. Dear Kallend, I mean Andy908 try answering questions instead of cominting on spelling. Oh wait neither of you ( i mean the one of you) know how to answer questions, instead you both ( the one of you) comment on spelling. I wish i was better at spelling so i didnt have to answer questions as they were asked. Must be rough not knowing you are stuck in the starting gate when everyone else has gone twice around the track already. Say, did you and DeVoll have the same English teacher? No we did not Andy908/Kallend. She is a few years older than me. I just wish the 2 of you/ the only one of you would actually answer a question. Instead you 2/the one of you only answer questions with other questions. It is pretty funny that the one of you cant answer a question. LOL. I vote for thread of the day.

If construction is your primary measure, it's not a recession, it's closer to a depression. But that's not the entire economy. Vegas was a housing super bubble in the midst of a national housing bubble. Are airfares to Vegas up? Driving there is such a pain - a single 2 lane highway from LA. Airfares are way up and it's a SINGLE lane on the way out of So Cal. to Vegas. Will be for a while. Arnold's try to make the asphalt green or something. Ten minutes sounds like a reasonable response time for a non-emergency. Well. If you knew the hood it could have turned in to an emergency in a New York second. You gonna stand there w/ your cell ph. and call the cops and hope they get there before you're dead? If you are a journeyman tradesman the going rates are 34-42/hr in Alberta. Skilled labour shortages in virtually every town and city in the province. Work visas are easy to get. I was just elected to office in my local union. Trust me. I know where the work is. I can go work the tar sands in Canada if I wish. Might wind up there. Who knows. Thanks tho.
