Wow, Pendejo's making new friends now!!! Glad to see everyone playing nicely together, even if it is with Pendejo... Ganja
-
Pendejo already wears weights..... Anyone who had been around in awhile would already know that though..... Ganja "Said with love" Rodriguez

Critical Mass? Why would you have ever wante to jump with thos fat bastards? Ganja "Yes, mine is the biggest" Rodriguez PS If you do a backwards naked tandem, will you owe beer for that, or have you done that before?

I was going to ask about how long it's been since you've jumped out of a plane, but the rig is out of date, so I'm guessinbg it's been a while.... Ganja

What made you decide to make it a 30th anniversary deal? Why not 10, 15, 20, 25, whatever? Ganja "where do we sign up?" Rodriguez

I'm not sure anyone would want to be on the load when I make my 100th..... Ganja "Yes, fat kids love cake " Rodriguez

Well, I don't speak German, but it appears to be a heck of way to die to me. Ganja

By which form of measurement do you mean distance???? Are we talking point a to point b, or length... Ganja
-
Just be sure you never stand at the edge with a rig that has been field packed... I've heard at least one story from my mentors about someone almost jumping a rig that was field packed. What I learned from that was either it's in the container or it isn't.... Ganja

Hmmm, You could always smash your nads with a hammer a few times and then go to the doctor and get them without having to lie.... But you'd have to be pretty hardcore to go that route. I'd recommend a friendly dentist or something. Ganja

A Russian chick needs a place to stay in TWF tonight and noone has hi-jacked this thread yet? Ganja

I've never had any trouble carrying my base rig with me. I would however suggest removing the hook knife and placing it in your checked bag. Last trip out to TWF, Jalisco had a TSA agent actually tell another TSA guy that his was a parachute knife, and that it was designed not to hurt people, and therefor it was ok to carry on. Personally, I would not suggest hoping for that sort of response from a TSA dude. Ganja

First 10 hours? Wasn't the website down for at least 1/2 of those? Seriously though Jason, do you think all of those bugs are worked out for this year? Ganja ""Who are the Rod..." oh, never mind" Rodriguez

515, I have removed my slider after a couple of jumps other than Bridge Day. My thought process was simply that nothing I was jumping locally required, so why have to fiddle with it. Your comment on having there as a "cross link" has me re-thinking that choice. Could you please send me some information on the one time that it saved, or could have saved someone that you mentioned. I'm very interested in learning more about that before making that decision. Gracias, Ganja

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to the question of what way is best, it is highly up to the individual. I made 10 skydives, went to BD '96 and watched. I did another 500ish skydives and got the idea that I wanted to research base. I lost a friend to base about that same time, and got turned off from the idea. I made another 1000 skydives and that's when I got the urge to look inot base again. I did alot of research, talked to the most local jumpers available, and went to BD '03 and made my first 2 base jumps. I am a baby still with only 31 jumps, and am on the fence about how many more I'll make. On the other side of the spectrum, some other people have made alot better judgement calls about how to go about getting into such a wonderful sport. The biggest thing I'd reccomend to someone if they asked me about base, is lot's of accuracy skydives on huge seven cell canopies. That's what I wish I had done first. Ganja Rodriguez BASE 916

When in doubt, pull it out... Sorry dude, but base is serious business. I'd never jump a rig I wasn't 100% sure about. Well never again at least. Ganja

Russel, only you would be strong enough to be posting from the hospital bed! Dude, you frig'n rock... Heal well brother, you inspire us all! Ganja

There was a long debate about it at the time it happened, here on DZ.com... Two school's of thought, but bottom line is, we both walked away.

626, Did you look at flying straight into TWF? For some unusual reason, it's been cheaper for me to fly into TWF through SLC in the past. As dumb as it sounds, stopping in SLC and getting on a puddle jumper to TWF is cheaper than going straight to SLC. I'm in Columbia, SC and fly CAE to ATL, ATL to SLC, and SLC to TWF, and it's usually cheaper than a direct ATL to SLC flight. I'm not sure how the airlines pricing structure works, but it sure seems silly to me... The more legs you add, the cheaper it seems to get. lol Ganja "What's 4:20?" Rodriguez

My FreeZR helped save my ass (or at least face)
pullhigh replied to Pendejo's topic in Gear and Rigging
Now now darkwing, I agree about the face not being worth saving, but where else could we find a team mate with a virgin a$$ in this sport? Seriously though, I think any good full face would have helped in this situation. Personally, I'm partial to the Oxygens, but I'm glad this turned out alright. I do look forward to putting that Freezer to good use doing some 4 way jumps though. Ganja "Face kicker" Rodriguez -
Been there, done that, no t-shirt.... Scariest shit I've ever lived through. Not sure to this day why it happened, but there was speculation at the time about the main being packed "narrow and tall" and that nay have pinched off the drouge release 3 rings. All I know is that dumping that reserve into a drouge in tow was the scariest thing I've ever done. It all came out all right for me obviously. Once the reserve was inflated, I felt the main D-bag hit me in the back of my legs, and I got rid of that shit in a hurry. Witnesses told me later that as I got rid of the main, it as actually inflating behind me... Twice as many arms, twice as many legs, a pilot chute in tow and someone strapped to your chest trying to kill you, what more fun can you have? In all seriousness, I love doing tandems, Ganja "Where's my t-shirt?" Rodriguez
