  3. Question is, is this possible? If so how many of you ladies have had this phenomenon? I've spoken with a few of my IM friends. One says she can see it happening since she's been so turned on she came within 5 seconds of touching herself. Not really what I was asking, but close. She still needed physical stimulation. *side note* BUT DAMN THATS HOT!! I love when women are open and can discuss things like that with men. (read: me) Yes it can happen. well, either that or she was lying.... Scars remind us that the past is real

  12. There's a tv commercial on in the states now with a gecko with a british accent lecturing other reptiles and he says "...asking if they want a free quote is like asking if they want free pie and chips...of course they want pie and chips...it's pie....with chips....for free..." I know what chips are - wtf is pie??? Apple pie? Key lime pie? Can you pie someone with this pie?? Scars remind us that the past is real
  13. I've seen those too. I'm thinking not of up-jumpers, more along the lines of tandems and students. So an example, say a dz did absolutely no maintenance on the student gear - reserve out of date, sb's ignored, mlw frayed, holes in the main, holes in the reserve - gross negligence....student does first aff jump (doesn't know any better) and goes in. Does the waiver still protect the dz? I guess I'm just remembering the theoretical discussion. Scars remind us that the past is real

  16. Does anyone know of a case in which a lawsuit was brought against a DZ and the waiver was rendered null and void? I seem to remember this being discussed awhile back, that in the case of gross negligence, the waiver would be rendered void, but has there been an actual instance where this happened? 17. nothing ventured nothing gained? I still don't know which side of that argument I land on. However, the world does need more love. Not the hallmark kind - the real kind. Scars remind us that the past is real
  18. This is very true. The "Safety Culture" can vary widely from DZ to DZ. Usually the things that make a DZ "less safe" are small changes that creep in slowly over time. Usually the regulars don't even notice. It's only when you go from one place to another that the differences are really apparent. More experienced jumpers, and especially ones who travel to different DZs, generally take their own personal rules and habits with them and usually stay pretty safe. It's the newer jumpers, who follow their DZ "leaders", who can fall victim to the lowering of safety standards. This is not to imply that this has anything to do with the accident or the DZ involved in this discussion, this is just a comment in line with the direction this thread has taken. Kevin K. I think this is something that really needs to be emphasized in this thread. We need to keep constantly questioning our methods, training, gear etc. to make sure we stay on top of the game. When we get lax, comfortable and complacent - we make mistakes. I think the vast majority of incidents can be traced back to complacency - either complacency about the approach, complacency about our training, gear complacency etc. Jump Scars remind us that the past is real

  24. So all you guys that say I'm sheltered in academia.... what am I sheltered from? Bills? Crime? the weather? what? I see this thrown about the forum often and I would like a clarification as to what anyone who uses this phrase means. Thanks. Scars remind us that the past is real
  25. I'm not following the logic behind a vent causing a streamer. Could you elaborate? well, the vent in the top allows air to escape. They are there to slow the opening of a round. If the apex is too big, too much air escapes and the canopy does not inflate - streamer. Pilot chutes are small - any vent might allow enough air to just flow right through and not let the pilot chute inflate. That would be bad. or I could be full of it...
