My only skydiving related tattoo is Army jump wings. It has nothing to do with skydiving, but alot to do with jumping of aircraft.

WayCool that is some good info. I have not had line twists in a long time. I have made 73 round parachute jumps and line twists was't a landing problem. Ican see if your risers pin your head down there can be a real problem. Should I keep me head in the normal position.

Just the facts sir.

They get the waist and length right, but usually make it baggier than most other brands. For a freefly suit I like Firefly, andI have sent a few back to refine for no extra charge.
-
Should you put you chin close to you chest before you deploy. My harness is tight and I have been doing this to keep my risers from hitting a side mount camera. Any comments.

I live in Tx. and still hav'nt made it to Skydive Dallas. I will be there soon. Blue Skys.

I have never posted in this forum, so im still a newbe. My first jump was in 1990. It was an 800 feet static line jump. My first freefall jump was in 2000. I have made over 350 freefall jumps to date, and I am still a newbe.

I am wanting info (the dates) on the 2004 "All American Week at Ft. Bragg N.C. I was a paratrooper there in the early 90's. I want to see it from a civilian point of view soon. .All The Way....Airborne...

At least get proficient at "belly to earth" flying skills before you start learning to freefly. RW is much more than falling "belly to earth". I would pick one and stick with one for awhile.

Just because it was his first time to post on dz.com does not make him a bad guy. He might have just wondered, because he served with him in the military? I do alot of investigation to find people that i served with. I would like to find as many as I can to have a reunion.

Pulling high could put jumpers that exit after you in danger. (you would be in danger of them hitting you, passing through your parachute) If you are going to pull high, it really needs to be pre-planned so other skydivers know.

I was in the 82 airborne. The "PLF" is a military term for parachute landing fall. The practice of feet and knees together is great under a round canopy. If you are jumping a "ram air " parachute you might land faster than the military's range to do a "PLF'. I dont think we jumped if the winds more than 13 knts. How do you safely do a "PLF" at that or greater speeds.

if you are airborne you did two night jumps. (static line)

Go hang out. Meet some people. Find someone with the type/ size of gear you jump. See if they might let you jump their gear. that way you only pay for altitude and the beer. It is cheaper than renting.
-
well they are called parachute wings, and we all use a parachute. Even if I wasnt airborne, I still would think the wings were cool. Blue skies, to all.
-
It is not representation. The airborne wings are not given to troops. You have to earn them. They signify that the wearer completed airborne school. I would call that accomplishment, not representation. If you look at a military DD214 form it lists Airborne wings as an award/ decoration. That puts in the same catagory as purple heart, silver/ bronze star, etc.

It might not seem like a big deal to everyone, but to a person that did go Ft. Benning and complete "jump school" it probably is a big deal. The completion of the "short course and five static line jumps" is a lifelong remembered accomplishment for that person. Just for the info I spent 3 years in the 82 arborne, and Im proud of my wings.

If you make a AFF jump while you are there then you will be one of the real skydivers. Make a jump.

USPA will take checks and money orders. Some DZ's take cash and pay USPA for you.

lucky chopper jump at skydive houston
mrhoop replied to mrhoop's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
original chopper brokedown, and me and 15 other shydivers got to jump from a dolphin. I think everyone owes beer, because I dont think many civilians have jumped this helecopter. -
me and 15 lucky skydivers made the jump from the dolphin. It was the bomb. I dont to many other skydivers have ever jumped an aircraft as sweet as that.

1. My first jump was in the Army. (to get $110 extra for hazardous duty) It was all static line @800 ft. I kept on because it was a blast. 2. never been married, girlfriends think it neet and cool. (until they decide you spend to much time jumping.
