Experienced jumpers: Don't know what to do
sssbc99 replied to WrongWay's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Dood, Move to Riverside county. -
The MOST Important thing (besides pulling) is: Get a good sit-fly position before you get on your head. It will save you a lot of trouble down the road. Edit: Not trying to hijack your thread or anything, just wanted to give a little tip in case you hadn't heard this from someone else.

Is that what I asked?

What is your favorite freefly container and why?
sssbc99 replied to FreeflyGoat's topic in Freeflying
If money wasnt an issue i would probably still get an infinity because of delivery times (even though i have seen a few that took much longer than the promised time). Plus infinity is closer to me. If youre buying your first container, get it used if you can find something because you are most likely going to downsize in a relatively short amount of time. I know it is for freeflying. The infinity and wings are both just as safe as the mirage or anything else. -
And what did you vote on prop 54?

Uh.. ever hear of financial advisors??? ...... but has zero training for any form for political office. But I guess with the right script he can play a politician... but who is going to be writing the script?? Jeanne Zero Training? Most of these politicians are fucking scumbags. What do you suggest is proper training for an office such as this. Lying 101, Cheating 101, Mudslinging 101..... This is not too say that some level of economical, financial, etc.. knokwledge should not be a precursor to office but how do you know arnie is not equipped with such? In other words, I want to hear what you think makes these other canditates so much more qualified.

Corking is when a freefly suddenly goes belly to earth or into a position that causes them to dramatically slow their fall rate thus causing them to "pop up" or cork. Dangerous for two reasons, if someone is above, they can collide and two, dangerous at pull time because you dont know where everyone is.... This is absolutely right but he was trying to relate corking to something very different and much less dangerous.
-
Corking is not the same as flying into someones burble and causing them to "lose air to fly on", so to speak. Since the range of speed in freefly, especially in flyers unaware of their fallrates, is much greater than that of RW, I don't believe the two are comparable in this instance. I don't agree that the only real danger is tracking into someone else. I have heard of atleast two deaths ( I know there are probably a few more ) caused by vertical freeflying collisions between inexperienced flyers in freefall.
-
You are only mentioning horizontal collisions. Even though these are potentially dangerous, the majority of injuries in freefall that I have heard about are due to vertical speed collisions, probably caused by corking. This is something you probably already knew but I thought I would bring it up.

There is no fucking way.
