ATTN NW canopy pilots: Swoop Comp. coming up

good to know, im almost positive we have blades somewhere. it would be a better idea to put the gates up in the pond like the pst comp. id much rather have the water to cushion our fuck ups learning to hit the gates. the pond is thgere for saftey, take it from me its a sureal feeling pounding into the earth with a swoop pond 4 feet to the left. \ im pretty excited to try this comp out. for nothing more than getting a feel for competing and swooping under pressure. so dont expect much from me, shit ill be stoked to just make the gates and be safe. peace -
advices for beginner swoop pilots
tattoojeff replied to insane's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
dude not to gang up on ya, but what the hell are you talking about. you truly need to read more and type less on this topic. i do somewhat agree that the siloette aint the best choice for swooping but it doesnt mean it cant be swooped and she/he cant learn how to swoop on it. and your w/l comment was borderline dangerous advice!!! if you do swoop you need to change some things in your head or you may find yourself really hurt. go easy dude listen learn be willing and HUMBLE! -

so in other words to hit the entry gates i woul;d most likley need to take it a little lower and plane out with slight input . am i understanding you correctly?

let me voice my opinion. im tired of these threads turning into ron vs. the world. why doesnt someone start a new thread all about ron and his views, leave this one alone. to tell the truth im tired of reading these see saw arguments. enough is enough pages upon pages of shit that alot of times has nothing to do with the thread. ron you have alot of knowledge but somehow you find a way to over anaylize a post just to start a huge argument that nobody learns shit from. im sure your going to write a book and quote me all over the place retorting everything ive said so let me save you some time. i probably will NOT respond cuz im not going to fall into the RON trap. its not worth it to me to debate someone as self rightous and closed minded as you can be. so go ahead fire away and get this shit over with. -
currently im doing a 120 degree front riser turn under a veng 120 loaded 1.6. i usualy have to go to double fronts for a sec or two after completing my turn. currently ive been allowing my canopy to recover on its own without input, then go to toggles till shutdown. on the occasions ive been a little low and have to apply toggle input to plane out my swoops feel alot faster and longer. although this method leaves eevn less room for error it seems i get more speed and distance. is this because more of my swoop is ground level (toe drag level) ? which is more optimal natural recovery or manuel ?
