I'm pretty sure it is. It's called Harper's (or maybe Harper's II) and it's in Greensboro. yep, thats the one. used to take the promotional vehicles there for a "wash" even got to expense the actual washing of the vehicle!

hah aha haah...yeah, i know that smell! well, main street is now a clusterfuck at commute time. i build houses and sell them for 400K, 3 home depots, 2 lowes, super walmart coming, some new "most advance movie theater" coming to apple valley, its nuts. i grew up in Los Altos...where are you in the bay? ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

I found their site online...but do you know any major chain stores in the west that carry them...i have been looking for a new pair of boots and cant seem to find a comfortable pair. i am a odd size, only 7.5 shoe size, so it is really important that i actually try them on before i order. hell, i sometimes order womens sizes due to my small feet! thanks ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

when i got my vmax years ago...i was the fastest thing moving on the road, not anymore, last time i rode to vegas, i was cruising at 80mph on the 15, and getting passed by yahoos in jacked up pickups (way unstable) doing 100+. hell, i never even get near the fast lane anymore! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

my point exactly...damn scary to see those things on the hwy. but, you own life is you own responsibility. Why? I guess I don't see the need to do 80+ on the highway. Just be aware of and ride within your machine's limits. its not just the top speed. rather i look at the wheel size and the overall weight. i know on the hwy on my XT550 i get pushed all around by wind and gusts generated from trucks, and i am toped out at 70, which here in california means you get people flying up on your ass, then changing lanes at the last moment, way too close. but on my vmax, 630lbs, 145hp, i am very stable, and can get out of speeders way. I rarely break 75mph, i just like to cruise...maybe because i do all my speeding in the air! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

my Vmax is a cruizer style...but i have ridden some sport bikes. I am 5 7 too...and yes, i either am on my toes with both feet, or leaning to one side with one foot flat. try to find a shop that carries multiple brands and just go sit on a bunch of bikes...take your time...really see how they fit you. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

ha! this reminds me of the time when my wife and i were doing 6 to 7 jumps a day (in the old days) and she had a bee in one of the cells, she ran from the packing area screaming! i was like, "hey, just pack it, the bee will get out on opening." yeah, and we missed the next load. to this day, it was one of only a handful of disagreements we have ever had. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

I have a 1200cc Vmax, age 38, good reccord. $76/year liability only. and my second bike, XT550 is only $17/year liability only. Foremost Insurance (not sure if there is actually a bigger owner of this company). Regarding the size of the bike. If you paln to go on a hwy, I would go with a 500cc or bigger...BUT!...only if your over the "I could never kill myself on this thing" age mentality. The extra power comes in handy when dealing with tailgators, or other f-ed up situations. The most important thing I can tell you is that you need to ride like you are invisible...really. Most people are conditioned to seeing the shapes of cars...not bikes. Many times I have had people say... "sorry, I did not see you" and they really didnt...their mind simply eliminated my shape from their view. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

I think that would take some heavy convincing for my wife to do that. Does look like a lot of fun though. from what i have seen of the ride, it is very mellow, not fast at all...it was on the news one day about how they are trying to re-stripe some roads due to a few points where the riders must stop, and a ride along traffic guy stops cars for them for safety. dude, you must fly in a trike someday. i love it as much as skydiving. no windows, no, metal in the way. and, get some good altitude and shut down the motor, wallla! you are a glider! i fly every weekend now...cant get enough. i cant wait to go to hawaii to log a few hours in Tom's trikes! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
