Not sure where you live, but up here in the high desert, east of Los Angeles, we have those running all over. Now in general, I like nature to work its magic, you know, spiders are good. But I have two kids two, the four legged kind. So what we do up here is a sport, its called...."spider patrol." Heres how it works. About an hour or more after sundown, and several cocktails, you head out...armed with a flashlight, a lighter, and your favorite flamable mixer in a can, such as WD40, breakclean, or maybe hairspray. Now, you walk around the yard, looking for a real messy web, thats the sign of a widow. Black widows hunt at night, and when you find one hanging out, put the flashlight on them, they freeze....then, light them up! Have fun. oh, it helps to have a sober person around with a fire putter outer! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

yeah, no kidding. looking for one that maybe has a bracket that stays bolted to the ceiling. hmmm, that should make for some interesting conversation when my 84 year old parents come for their next visit. "say son, whats that bracket on the ceiling?" "well dad, it all started in the Bonfire."

I'm not saying she was being clever, but the hole should have been blocked or covered up. Re the mugger.. It's the mugger committing the crime.. Blaming the victim for being an "easy" target doesn't change the fact that it's the mugger who is at fault. oh come on! ok, now i can understand hitting an open manhole with a car cause your cruising along at 40 MPH, (this happened in Long Beach, crackheads were stealing covers for scrap value), but walking right into a hole? what about a curb, or a thorn bush, or maybe a tree. OPEN your freaken eyes! Damn, I hope I am not riding my bike when this idiot learns to drive...or anywhere near a DZ that lets her jump. ** **disclamer. this is a rant, not to be directed at the poster, but the idiot girl. -
anyone ride a motorcyle been hit with a lit cigarette?
squirrel replied to loumeinhart's topic in The Bonfire
not yet, but.... I was out riding this morning, beautiful morning, no wind, nice temp, no traffic. Just cruising along in the right lane, other cars able to pass, and some asshole comes up on my ass, like 5 feet close. I open it up, get away, then they do it again. I just pulled over and let the idiot pass. but then I thought. One of my fellow flying buddies has an oil injector on his E-LSA Trike (ultralight, sort of), mainly to put a few puffs out to make sure other aircraft see him, or enable me to find him if I loose track of him. The oil is very very stinky when burned. I think I want to put one on my bike, so when some dickhead flicks a butt out the window, or tailgates, I give them a taste of some real smoke. http://skysmoke.com/ ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him? -

you also wouldn't expect a mugger either. no excuse, time for people to be situationally aware. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him? -

looking to set up a virtual fax number....any suggestions on the best company to go with? High volume of faxes, some ranging 50 pages or so. we currently use "mongo fax" a service that is included in one MLS membership, but we may be dropping that MLS membership. thanks! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

Update: about 9 weeks out...Jenni is doing great, no pain killers, walking 2 to 3 miles a day! We are now able to drive a llttle longer and made it to dog beach. still need to lay on her back to rest every 3 to 4 hours, but she is doing great! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

this is CA....people ride like this ALL THE TIME. At least he isn't wearing shorts and flip flops (which is also common). stupidity at it's finest, folks. Fixed it for ya! Wisconsin doesn't have a helmet law. I see this on a regular basis, only without even a helmet. What do you call a guy on a crotch rocket wearing only shorts, shades and sneakers?? An optimist i bet most motorcycle riders who dont skydive would say that about us. (or at least me when i jump in shorts, shades, and sneakers.) ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

I am not normally a fan of "glam" bikes, but saw this one cruising on the 91 yesterday while coming home from the beach. picture is from a cell phone, looked better first hand. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

So my mother in law buys a sun shade for her car, one for the wind shield. the instructions actually say "do not operate car with sun screen in place." just shoot me now and free me of the pain!!! ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?

well some people call it a "Kite" but I fly a weight shift E-LSA. (experimental light sport aircraft.) we call them trikes, basically a hang glider with a trike and motor. funny thing is that my instructor hates teaching GA pilots to fly a weight shift because the controls are essentially backwards. push out to go up, pull back to dive, push right to go left... He has had a few close calls, having to resort to slapping the student to let go of the controls before they went in. its a very very easy aircraft to fly, no flaps, trim, pedals, just a control bar. ________________________________ Where is Darwin when you need him?
