We need to kick some Coyote ass tonight too. AFTER, of course, the raising of #11 to the rafters. Bets on how long the Moose can keep it together before the kleenex comes out??

Okay, "the Golds" would be where, exactly? I assume that it means you're close to the ice, if not on the glass, and that you either paid a ridiculous price for your ticket or there is a corporate ticket-holder making that possible. Please translate for those of us who frequent the Pepsi Can here in Denver. A bud won the lottery at work for their corporate tix. I forget the section, but it's around row 10 at centre ice - high enough to view the whole game, low enough to smell the blood. And Mess was my all time favourite Oiler, so this one's special. I've been off work (in school) since 12/22/2004 and just had my first day back. Ugh! I hope everyday isn't an assdragger like this one. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. Without the good kind- less flavor to life. - Serge A. Storms

Pretty much one hit wonders, although they do have a best of CD out. They sort of looked like the Everly Brothers on junk. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. Without the good kind- less flavor to life. - Serge A. Storms

We all do. If people knew what lurked in their beds, sinks and clothing (no, I don't mean other dz.commers), they might go Howard Hughes. Having sex with it I'm not so sure about, but maybe on it. When I got my new Stiletto 120 (years ago) I unwrapped it, unwrapped my bodybuilder girlfriend of the time, and rolled around in it for a bit. Nylon never felt so good.

I thought that was only possible in some of the more remote states (and a few provinces) But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. Without the good kind- less flavor to life. - Serge A. Storms

Really? Name three risks that exist now that didn't exist when you were a kid. I wasn't saying there are (I thought the italics and emoticon would indicate my sarcasm in the last post.) My point with that is many parents these days worry about their kid getting hurt on a playground. So physical activities are reduced, lest there be a chance of the kids getting an owwy. Case in point is the recent school ban of "tag" in many schools, because kids may get hurt. When I first read about this in the local paper, the next page had an article on how kids need more physical exercise, such as *gasp* more running around! My mistake. I didn't catch the sarcasm. I've heard several people make comments in these forums lately about how much more dangerous it is for kids these days and how it's no longer safe for kids to roam free outside, the way they once could. Such statements are completely unsupported by the facts. No problem.

Yeah, it's a tough decision when you're spending lots of dough on something. As for functionality, it's seriously worth sacrificing somewhere and getting the pro. There's a reason they cost more - they do more. Day to day things may not be noticeable, but in the end you will be happier. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. It's like buying a vehicle. There are those that argue for certain features, and others that just want a certain look, colour, or what's trendy. Both Macs and some PC's (Lenovo, Lenovo ) are great, depending on what you want to use them for. I had a Mac (very long time, so I won't even post what it was), have been using IBM for 6 years. Problems? Yeah, a few. But even a Bentley has problems, and I don't consider my inconveniences on an IBM / Lenovo to be so bad. I'm also looking for a new laptop, and those that I know with the MacBook have commented that there are some programs they can't run, or download something, or whatever. What these users are having trouble with is exactly what I want to avoid, so I choose a Windows system. The point is, buy something for what you are going to use it for. Not because of price or trends. Macs aren't anymore expensive than an equally functional [other] laptop. In the end you get what you pay for. Somehow a national health care system seems like less of a good idea when stupidity is subsidized... This thread is about British kids, but have you seen the US numbers (and Canada is on par). Looking at this PowerPoint prez a couple of years ago, I was appalled at the increase in supersized persons. But it's not stupidity. Hell, when I took a job that involved mostly air and car travel, with hotel room service to boot, I gained 35 pounds. It sneaks up on a person in some cases, with lack of regular activity and diet. My diet isn't the best, but I make an effort to control it. And a helping of soylent green every day helps. I really believe in letting kids go out and run around, get off the internet, and burn off the calories. But then there're too many risky things out there that parents worry about. I used to work 3 pm to 1:30 am. It was good, since I had Fridays off and didn't have to be back at work until Monday afternoon. It was great for jumping! Must be nice that the media don't have to clear prior calls for service to get going to a major accident scene. The news guy looked a little tentative, since he wasn't there to help. So he stayed in his suburban assault vehicle until the flashy lights were there. Makes for better footage. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. So it's 00:30 and I'm typing away at my computer. I hear a car whooshing by on the street in front of my place. Then I hear the impact. That's some pretty good speed when you can hear it through the double panes. And it's a 60 kmh zone (until you've had a few, apparently). I look outside and see the remnants of a car, half way up the block, parts of it strewn about. Really it was just half a car. And a van that's usually parked on the street, moved considerably. Other motorists are already stopping to assist, so I call 911. Pretty good response time (about 6 minutes - not bad during the holiday season). What gets me is the news crew that is on the scene in 5 minutes. It shouldn't surprise me, since the media scans the police radios. But jeez, Oh yeah, drunk driver, nice and relaxed when he sailed into the van, so it looks like he'll be fine. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. I've never tried it. But I did hear that even taking it once can lead to serious effects with your memory, for one. It probably depends on the person, as with any drug, but I wouldn't take the chance. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. Definitely. Lenovo Thinkpads have been good to me for 6 years. The T60 is what I plan on getting next. Or a Zed series, depending on my whim. Bottom line - every laptop will have some issues. Just like buying a car. Go with what has the features you want. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol. There is the good kind and the bad. Well, for anyone that doesn't remember that one-line 20-year-old movie quote, it does sound a lot like the recent John Kerry quote which slandered everyone in the U.S. military, inferring that they were stupid for being stuck in Iraq. Given that interpretation, I don't blame him for jumping to their defense. No, Kerry's comments did not slander everyone in the U.S. military. It wasn't even close. If you bothered to follow up on the comments he made both in interviews and on paper media, it was clear that he fucked up, he admitted it, and it was a comment directed at Bush. Kerry's recent interview on Larry King put that deadhorse beyond beating. I got the reference to the sig line right away (yeah, I'm old enough ). I can see how it got misunderstood, with the Iraq war. I also figure that the OP gets it now, and it can lay. Of course, this is SC. But you have to understand, mental illness is like cholesterol.
