  1. So? For the purposes of this thread, I defined it. Given the post-election events, I thing she would agree with my refinement.
  2. So then, you ARE writing a comic book. Hey, let me know if you need an artist. I have a couple I can hook you up with. No thanks, as I have stated earlier, I am friends with a lot of Democrats.
  3. hannity? He is a clown. Here is where I first heard it. http://townhall.com/columnists/katiekieffer/2016/09/19/meet-the-altleft-n2220273
  4. For the purposes of my post, it is shorthand for: anarchists, communists, socialist, radical feminists, environmental extremists and Lena Dunham.
  5. What is the evidence that the Tea Party has won the centre? White House, Senate, House of Reps. And http://www.dailykos.com/story/2017/1/31/1628054/-Democrats-control-the-government-in-just-six-states-Don-t-let-Republicans-shrink-that-to-five
  6. I am surrounded by hard working, tax paying, children loving democrats. I went to a Super Bowl party, hosted by one, my children are being taught by them. They are my friends and neighbors. I save my political pontifications for DZ.com because if I shared them on Facebook I would loose half of my friends. As I have said before brenthutch is my snarky, acerbic alter ego. I am not a hater. The question I am posing is; can democrats harness the energy of the alt-left without being co-opted by it? It seems to me the strategy of pandering to grievance/identity politics has backfired and party leadership is unwilling or unable to turn the page.
  7. That would be great, especially if the makeup job was was as good.
  8. My wife doesn't like the color and texture you are talking about either. If you bump up the temp a bit you can achieve a more traditional texture and color while retaining the moisture of sous vide. Of course a quick sear/broil brings out more flavor and is esthetically pleasing.
  9. Cute, but I know as you should, that the reason Gitmo didn't close wasn't because he didn't try. The Republicans in Congress blocked him. Fact. Not until after a Democrat controlled congress did it first. Fact. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/20/us/politics/20detain.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
  10. We will have to wait and see. Obama did not fail on his promise to close Gitmo until January 20, 2117.
  11. Understood, but the Tea Party members were only "useful idiots" for the oligarchy in this election. They were played like a fiddle. Yeah, just look at how Trump is going back on all of his campaign promises.
  12. http://southpark.cc.com/clips/165714/whats-the-score-jefe Gerrymandering? Electoral College? Crazy Right Wingers? Look at the score Jefe, look at the score.
  13. I disagree. IMO if that were true then Hillary would not have won the popular vote. Jerry Baumchen Hi jerry, Just ask President Hillary Clinton, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer oh and Supreme Court Justice Merrick Garland. #winning?
  14. I dunno. I saw plenty of unsavory Tea Party members. Idiots bringing AR-15s into Starbucks isn't exactly the way you win over folks from the left side of the aisle. The fight is for the center, a fight that, for now, the Tea Party has demonstrably won.
  15. During the period of the Black Plague one could make that argument.
  16. That was the point being made. He said the Tea Party successfully blocked out the unsavory elements of the right, the question that remains open is can the left can do the same.
  17. Call the Firemen! BTW, mental illness is, in fact, contagious. Case in point: Islam Religion. FIFY If Religion is an illness, Islam is the Ebola of Religions.
  18. Listening to an analyst on MSNBC, he said in order for the grass roots left to replicate the success of the tea party, they would have to self police and remove anarchists, communists, socialist, radical feminists, environmental extremists and tell Lena Dunham "to exit stage left," as these elements are unacceptable to the general population. I thought to myself, who remains? Thoughts?
  19. I must have missed it, just what "ideas" were being espoused?
  20. You are living in an alternative reality http://clivebest.com/blog/?p=2208
  21. Problem: Observations do not match climate model predictions and undermine AGW theory. Science says: AGW theory is flawed. NOAA says: No problem, we will just molest the observational data until it agrees with our flawed models. Whistle blower reveals the subterfuge, new EPA administrator has his staff eliminate the data manipulation and POOF, there goes AGW.
  22. "the world’s leading source of climate data rushed to publish a landmark paper that exaggerated global warming and was timed to influence the historic Paris Agreement on climate change. A high-level whistleblower has told this newspaper that America’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) breached its own rules on scientific integrity when it published the sensational but flawed report, aimed at making the maximum possible impact on world leaders including Barack Obama and David Cameron at the UN climate conference in Paris in 2015." Thirty years ago?
  23. We will just have to wait and see now won't we. I am confident that once approved, Scott Pruitt will shine some much needed sunlight on the climate cabal at the EPA.
  24. It cuts right to the heart of the AGW debate, climate sensitivity. If the revised numbers bring back the "pause" it blows AGW theory right out of the water.
