Hey that is how capitalism works. Teslas are impressive. My only beef is with the government subsidies and cram-downs. If you look at the LONGER term from 1945 to around 1975, temperatures DROPPED while CO2 climbed. And as we all know, the warming influence of CO2 drops logarithmically thus it is very hard to reasonably attribute the observed late twentieth century warming to CO2, a fact that is being born out by recent observation.

And it has been, in fits and starts, since the end of the last ice age. If CO2 where driving the climate, we would not see global cooling in the last three years while CO2 levels continue to skyrocket. My point with the car race example was to illustrate that different vehicles have different strengths and weaknesses. A Tesla model S would trounce my Honda just as Dodge Demon would best the Tesla in a 0-60 dash. Add some curves and the Demon loses, add some distance and my lowly Accord pulls out in front.

From NOAA's website, "During March, the average contiguous U.S. temperature was 40.68°F, 0.82°F below the 20th-century average. This ranked in the middle third of the 125-year period of record. The year-to-date (January–March) average contiguous U.S. temperature was 35.03°F, 0.12°F below average" And the warmists say, "Don't trust your lying eyes folks. You may be experiencing a prolonged winter and record snowfall in the Spring but trust us when we tell you that there is a giant ball of plasma in the South Pacific, and when we average the two, we still have dangerous climate change. Of course this needs to be studied further.....Grant Please!"

Not local weather, my friend, continent wide, prolonged climate. You guys point to weather events not me. I show that GLOBAL temperatures have been dropping for the last three years and you guys say "yeah, but what about super storm sandy". Sadly, for you, I remain unhoist.

From your article "A team of climate experts who conducted a fast analysis of the late December 2017-early 2018 East Coast cold snap said they didn't find a link to Arctic temperature or sea ice conditions for that particular event" The polar vortex phenomenon was first described in 1853 long before any supposed AGW, so the whole "its cold because its hot" narrative doesn't hold water.

Thank you for your cunning insight, but we aren't talking about one day in Chicago, we are talking about three years and the entire globe. BTW I wonder how the good folks in Fargo are feeling about their 12-14 inches of global warming today.

I do believe I sited NOAA’s GLOBAL temperature data for the last three years. Do you believe them or are those guys just a bunch of deniers. I apologize for including both national as well as global temperatures in my response. It clearly flummoxed some folks. I didn’t intend to cause confusion. Again I’m sorry.

Currently the US has had BELOW AVERAGE temperature for the start of 2019. NOT the highest, NOT amongst the highest, NOT above average, NOT even average but BELOW average. According to NOAA, global temperatures have been DROPPING for the last three years, all the while CO2 continues to skyrocket. If this doesn’t make you question your genuflecting at the altar of catastrophic man-made global warming, there is no hope for you.

You are right it says "could", and as Gowerk pointed out, " could" is a weasel word, rendering the prediction utterly pointless. (Just like all warmist predictions)

On June 30, 1989, the Associated Press ran an article headlined: “UN Official Predicts Disaster, Says Greenhouse Effect Could Wipe Some Nations Off Map.” In the piece, the director of the UNEP’s New York office was quoted as claiming that “entire nations could be wiped off the face of the earth by rising sea levels if global warming is not reversed by the year 2000.”

What are you talking about? The GND is supposed to save us from all of the aforementioned disasters (that never happened). Think about it. A plan that doesn't work, saving us from a problem that doesn't exist...what could be more magical than that?
