  1. https://www.spectator.co.uk/2016/04/ocean-acidification-yet-another-wobbly-pillar-of-climate-alarmism/ Bill, temps have been rising, glaciers have been melting and sea levels have been rising since the end of the last ice age.
  2. I can walk and chew gum. I never characterized the temperature rise, I just sited NOAA data for the last two decades, beginning in the most recent complete year. (.15C). You characterized it as “massive”
  3. There have been helicopters and telephones for most of the last ninety years. And the incredible drop in climate related deaths correlates nicely with elevated CO2 levels, buttressing my argument that a large carbon footprint = a better life.
  4. Ok here is a is a century's worth https://principia-scientific.org/climate-related-deaths-down-by-98-9-last-year-all-time-low/
  5. According to NOAA, 2018 global temperatures were .79 degrees above the twentieth century average. Two decades prior it was .64 above. .79-.64=.15
  6. 1.5 TENTHs of one degree = MASSIVELY messing with the environment?
  7. Yes, the OP was about the GND, a socialist utopian fantasy (just watch the video earlier in the thread). It is not just the GND, Beto's climate plan has a five TRILLION dollar price tag, and it is being criticized for not being ambitious enough.
  8. https://www.axios.com/ Sen. Bernie Sanders tweeted "I am proud to be an original co-sponsor of the Green New Deal proposal. We must address the existential crisis of planetary climate change." Sen. Cory Booker likened the GND to fighting Nazis and going to the Moon, reports the Washington Times. Sen. Kamala Harris, via C-SPAN: "We have to have goals. It's a resolution that requires us to have goals and think about what we can achieve and put metrics on it." Sen. Elizabeth Warren tweeted that she is "excited" to back the GND after initially saying she backed the general "idea" of it. Sen. Amy Klobuchar: "I see it as aspirational, I see it as a jump-start. So I would vote yes, but I would also, if it got down to the nitty-gritty of an actual legislation as opposed to, 'Oh, here are some goals we have,' that would be different for me," reports The Hill. Sen. Kristin Gillibrand: "It's got this aspirational goal of net zero carbon emissions in ten years," reports Newsweek.
  9. The conspiracy is that the .15C warming we have experienced in the last two decades is somehow an existential threat to our planet and unless we turn control of our lives over to the government and spend TRILLIONS of dollars we are all doomed. At least that is what the Democrats are telling us. To be clear, in the past twenty years the planet has warmed one and a half TENTHS of a degree centigrade.
  10. The planet has been warming since 8000BC. The failure of the models to predict “The Pause” demonstrates their inadequacy
  11. From the NOAA website: 2016 .95C above twentieth century average 2017 .85 above 2018 .79 above
  12. Your conflating climate with weather. Anyway, you are asking me to prove a negative which can be problematic. I think we are talking past one another. I am citing ACTUAL OBSERVATIONS (the planet has been COOLING for the past three years and the US is experiencing a COLDER than average start to the year) while you parrot warmists THEORY and taking points.

  14. Since you are being pedantic, https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/jan/18/uk-gales-fell-trees-and-disrupt-travel
  15. I quote, Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia.
  16. Why does an article from 2018 not use any data after 2010? Also, you keep talking about the "elephant in the room" and "global body of independent research", just what EXACTLY are you referring to?
  17. March 20, 2000 According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia ,within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”. “Children just aren’t going to know what snow is,” he said. Who's the denier now?
  18. I joined the forum in 2003 so it has been at least sixteen years. And yes Turtle I am referring to the usual suspects. I wonder, if the professor still lives in the Chicago area, what he thinks of the record breaking snowfall they experienced this past weekend. If so how he can reconcile that with the prediction that "snow will be a rare and exciting event"?

  21. Let this marinate a bit more. Dateline Berkeley CA 1994 BERKELEY, CA—Warning society that it has reached a crucial tipping point from which it may never be able to recover, a brittle, yellowing report sitting in the archives of the University of California’s Bioscience & Natural Resources Library reportedly urged readers Friday that “the time to act against climate change is right now.” “Any further delay in ending the international community’s reliance on fossil fuels and reversing global carbon emission trends places the planet on an irreversible path toward climate catastrophe,” read the faded text of the document, whose musty, degrading pages further cautioned that, without “an immediate and concerted worldwide response,” polar ice caps will melt at an accelerating rate and extreme weather events will grow more frequent and destructive. “This is the most pressing issue facing humanity today. We must act against rising global temperatures with exceptional speed and commitment, as the future of the human race depends on swift and decisive action.” The report, which was beginning to wither and curl at the edges, concluded with a degree of optimism, emphasizing that as long as humanity recognizes the grave dangers it faces and commits itself fully to taking immediate corrective measures, there remains just enough time to avoid a cataclysmic mass extinction event. Question, do you guys lack the gene which enables you to detect irony?
  22. It’s not my argument brother, it’s yours! It’s the same claptrap that you guys have been peddling for more than a quarter century. AGW disaster porn is so ridiculous that even The Onion is making fun of it.
