Given that our economy is driven by consumer spending, and the fact we just finished our first TRILLION dollar Christmas season, would you like to reconsider your prediction?

I’m fine with Tesla now that I am no longer subsidizing them. I still think they have some challenges ahead of them.

Desire in one hand and poop in the other and see what one fills up first. I am for what actually works. Free market capitalism and a growing carbon footprint has brought more people out of poverty than a thousand Band Aid concerts. I think negativity and virtue signaling is disgusting.

Not freezing. Snuggled up with my two kids and wife in front of a (real) fire, watching A Christmas Carol (with George C. Scott). To me, there is something incongruous about Christmas and palm trees. Have fun, happy sails, and merry Christmas.

In this century it seems the conservatives are the happy ones and it is the liberals who are miserable. Liberals/progressives are whining and crying about income inequality, climate change, plastic, racism, misogamy, homophobia, islamophobia, transphobia, white privilege, Christianity, guns and toxic masculinity (to name a few), while conservatives sit back and enjoy the best decade in human history, (not to mention record low unemployment a record high stock market and energy independence for as long as the eye can see.) Just who is happy and who is the wretched lot?

Looks like you could use some global warming.

Democrats didn't screw up, they want a perpetual underclass, dependent on government handouts for survival and forever beholding to the Democrats. Look at what they did to the African American family. Before the war on poverty, single motherhood was around 25% now it is three times that. Thank You! LBJ

You have hit on something there. Democrats consider more people on welfare as success while Republicans think the opposite. Given the booming economy and rising wages SNAP is not needed as much as it was during the Obama administration.

"The findings, published in the journal Biogeosciences, suggest that forests are growing more vigorously The increased plant growth in global forests is due to several factors, including higher concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, warmer temperatures and increased availability of nitrogen." Reforestation via the burning of fossil fuels, a win win. -
Tesla, GM Lose Bid To Raise Ceiling For Federal EV Tax Credit

Sorry I was a bit distracted. I was dealing with a sick daughter, baking cookies and preparing to host a Christmas Eve party. My google search did not capture the last few months. Yes Tesla is awesome, best company ever, Elon Musk should be anointed King of America and we all will be driving electric cars by the end of the year. Happy now? -
Oh no! We are falling behind in the particle accelerator race??!! Oh the humanity!!!

Tesla, GM Lose Bid To Raise Ceiling For Federal EV Tax Credit

That's odd, YTD tesla is up 3.36% while the S&P500 is up 26%. Looks like a bit of a dog to me. That said, now that they are soon to be removed from the taxpayer teat and will be at the tender mercies of the market, I wish them the best of luck. -

From your article. "Analysts expect a loss for 2019 as a whole." -
Not a snob, I remember, learning from my grandfather, that Jim Beam was top shelf stuff. I became interested in single malts from the time I was a nineteen year old private in Northern Italy. My Lt. was drinking it, he said that he was "developing" a taste for Scotch (he was a Harvard guy and I guessed that is what Harvard guys did). I tried it and it was absolutely horrid, I couldn't figure out how anyone would want to put that stuff into their mouths. Now mind you, at that time I was more of a sloe gin and 7up guy. The years passed and I occasionally tried, and found it to somewhat more palatable, but still not for me. About ten years ago I struck up a conversation with a guy who turned out to be a Vietnam war A4 pilot, long story short (I know, too late) he ended up being our jump pilot for two years. Over that time we would have a few single malts and he would educate me on the finer points of good scotch. At our year-end party I gave him a bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail (I bought it because the box looked nice and the price point was in range), we opened it up right away. It was fantastic, it had all of the complexity of the other single malts I had had previously but was lacking the distinctive burnt tire taste I had come to expect. I have been a fan ever since. BTW the best description I have ever heard for single malt is, "It tastes like someone took the bathroom door of your favorite dive bar, drug it through a field of wildflowers and burned it."

Just to be clear, the whole "mixing it with diet coke on ice in a solo cup" was in jest. I drink my whiskies neat.
-
Really? I should have included the tongue planted firmly in cheek emoji. (not about the Scotch, but about the Diet Coke, ice and solo cup)
-
No cheap wine (like normal) I’m at the in-laws, Ardbeg Uigeadial is called for tonight. (Mixing it with Diet Coke, on ice in a solo cup)

So you would agree the article of impeachment “obstruction of congress” is BS?

Longer lifespan, lower poverty, greater standard of living, fewer climate related deaths, accelerating technological advances ... Those are just the facts. If you want to buy into some doomsday narrative you will have to get some “alternative facts” -
