  1. I didn’t vote for him. I know it can be confusing because when you think pedophiles and sexual assaulters Democrats naturally come to mind, Bill Clinton and Jeff Epstein for example.
  2. No he said “when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab em by the pussy. You can do anything.” He didn’t say he did. And until he is convicted, he is to be presumed innocent.
  3. When was he convicted of rape or any other crime? And didn’t Muller find no evidence of Russian collusion?
  4. From the NYT article: “Automakers are now shifting to electric vehicles, which could make up one-quarter of new sales by 2035, analysts project. But at that point, only 13 percent of vehicles on the road would be electric. Why? Older cars can stick around for a decade or two.” Just who is having trouble understanding? Did you catch that? Only 25% by 2035. Olof takes the crown from me as the worst predictor on Speakers Corner.
  5. None of them? How about Olof? Care to put a date on that one? How about 2025? It's only around 4 years away.
  6. My wife has a hybrid, does that count?
  7. One of your “brilliant minds” predicted EVs would overtake internal combustion vehicles in four years. I ask you just who is being silly? I’m not throwing bombs here I am giving a much needed reality check. Nothing I am saying is even close to being controversial.
  8. Electric Vehicles: Setting a course to be outsold two to one by internal combustion vehicles in a decade.
  9. Read the article, the goalposts are not mine.
  10. My “attitude” reflects the simple reality laid out by the New York Times. I think we can all agree the NYT is not some hayseed, red neck, red state rag. I am not the contrarian here, the “we will all be driving EVs in four years” guys are the ones with their heads in the clouds.
  11. The NYT predicts by 2035, nearly 15% of the cars on the road will be EVs. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/03/10/climate/electric-vehicle-fleet-turnover.html
  12. I’m still waiting for your year by year projections. Or do we need to wait four years before we get a good chuckle?
  13. Why would anyone want an EV for anything other than drag strip shenanigans and virtue signaling. (BTW EVs account for less than 3% of new cars)
  14. Just how many EVs are produced by “announcing a major move”? With regard to 2025, you have a bet. To make it more interesting, let’s hear your year, one, two and three predictions. That way we won’t have to wait four years for a good laugh.
  15. Yep, looks like I will be wrong about that one. That prediction was predicted on the notion that major car companies would enter the EV market in a more substantial way instead of just dabbling around the edges.
  16. https://images.app.goo.gl/rtXYzeY9Us1XGtCv9 Hunter must own some Gazprom stock.
  17. It might help, but it won’t be the game changer the Pollyannas think it will be. Everyone crows about all of the EVs sold in Norway. What they might not know is that those are largely bought in addition to an internal combustion car, NOT a replacement. Given the rate of adaptation of EVs and the lifespan of conventional vehicles, I don’t see EVs overtaking internal combustion vehicles anytime soon.
  18. I never said it will not succeed. I just said it will not happen for quite a while and that the billions spent on trying to shorten that timeframe are just wasted billions (except for the politicians that receive kickbacks uh...”donations” from those EV companies). We tried this during Obama’s term. Doesn’t anyone remember Fisker?

  20. No, the car will be used as scrap. It’s called recycling.
  21. 20% is 20%, what facts are I misrepresenting?
  22. I have made a habit of living well within my means. I drove it until the wheel fell off (figuratively)
  23. I did the same thing with my old Accord. Donated it to a veterans organization though my deduction was a much more modest $300
  24. But it is NOT a deduction. Where is the depreciation/interest paid/depletion of an EV? It is nothing more than an incentive to purchase a vehicle that many folks would pass on if not for the free money.
