  1. I can get out the plane at 6grand - land, pack and be waiting for it when it lands. And check this - then jump again and get a good canopy! Spent the weekend playin with my canopy. Trying to take my surf from about 25ft too high to just right, skimming the grass. Didnt quite get it - but learnt alot whilst trying. Adi
  2. LOL I was refering to points average being double the 1st one. ie 6/7 on first without lead, then 12-15 on subsequent dives. I totaly agree with what you say about relaxed being good. If your just there without having to think you cant work cranking points. Adi
  3. Do it and I'll make sure the clouds never leave the UK! Aw come on play fair. I didnt tell you. Make them go away. Please. Howz this way - they go away i dont tell, you they stay i tell you!!! Sound fair? Would i do a thing like that anyway ..
  4. So anyona wanna know who dies????
  5. What canopy are you suggesting these tests be taken on. One of a loading that they can currently jump or of the one the want to downsize to? Adi
  6. Guys im not interested in jumping a velocity yet. I just wanted to know what the good wing loading is! Okay its beyond my experience level - kinda figured that already, thats why im not jumping one. Ill have 5 or 600 jumps by christmas which is when i was thinkin of trying the stilletto. Ill put the question a different way. I currently load between 1.45 and 1.55, when i try out the stilletto what loading should i go with. 1.6 on the 120 or 1.45 on the 135. Adi
  7. Im not looking to get rid of my current canopy anytime soon. Although i will probably look at buying a stiletto in a couple of hundred jumps. I was just wondering what range the 2 canopies performed best (a velocity is a few years way away yet! It was just for my own interest). And what was the best wing load to learn the canopy on. I currently load my spectre at 1.45 - 1.55 depending on amount of lead i wear. While i realise this isnt exactly extreme i wouldnt describe it as light. Ive looked on the PD site (thanks hook) but i could only find the skill level loading tables. *edit - found recomended max 1.3 and 2.2* I ask because i realise alot of the top swoopers are upsizing their canopies. Thanks for any info Adi
  8. I was wondering where i can find out ideal wing loads for canopies. What would be a good entry wing load on canopies such as the stiletto and velocity (no you dont need to start flaming me - i was just wondering) Adi
  9. This is amazing! Adi
  10. You really dont want to get caught wearing a weight belt on because it would make your luggage too heavy. Its a whole world of fun Happened to a friend i was travelling with. They just wouldnt belive that 1) she wanted to jump out of a plane. 2) she wanted to hit the ground quicker!!! 3) its just sand in these little pouches Think she got tagged by security because she got fully checked at about 4 different points. Also since when have a jar of pickles been a security threat - only in america! I love you guys! Adi
  11. I dont have the money to buy a canopy when a friend is selling it at a really good price without selling my old one. Id have loved to take a formal canopy class earlier (i did get advise from my aff instructors about jumping the canopy) - i want to learn as much as i can about everything. But i think it should still be the choice of the individual. When i said education is the way forward i didnt mean just canopy classes - Researching flight characteristics, advise from other jumpers, demoing lots of canopies and general increased awareness. I think setting out a strongly worded set of guidelines would be a great idea. Then people who dont look for help and advise cant use the excuses 'i didnt know' or 'nobody told me' etc. Also giving some advise based on currency, type of canopy (ie. spectre at 1.45, is different to diablo {from expirience}, is different to stilletto, is different to velocity etc) Adi
  12. Mirage like main container. Space for a large reserve/small main combo whilst retaining sleek looks. Padded legstraps. Space for weight without it digging in. Very FFF. ie bridal routing, riser protection etc. Slider stow. Hook knife. Low profile handles. Very obvious window to check pilot chute is cocked. Articulated harness. Would self packing be asking too much??? Adi
  13. Wendy Im really new to the sport. But in the last 7 months ive clocked 250 jumps. Ive down sized to a spectre 135 loading at about 1.45. I love this canopy. I learn something new pretty much every jump + feel im constantly advancing. The canopy doesnt scare the shit out of me so im not afraid to play + knock it about some but im also very careful. This canopy would be totally unsuitable for a guy who has the same number of jumps but over say 5 years. To date i havnt had the chance to attend a canopy control class - theres always been other stuff ive needed more. (Going to icarus extreme coaching seminar next week) I think that if some kind of BSR was bought in i wouldnt have a chance in hell of getting under my canopy. I know i would learn under a lighter canopy but i think im learning more under this because its keeping me sharp. The way i look at it is im paying for the whole skydive - i can choose what i do at the top end (increase risks by jumping with more people, a surf board etc) and i should be able to choose what i do with the bottom end (obviously with others safety in mind). Its my risk and if anyone wanted me to sign an extra waiver to say this id be happy to do so. Education not restriction is the way forward Adi
  14. I think its all relative to the ages of the poeple envolved. Im 19 and ive gone 5 over but on the other side i think 2 under would be my limit. Although this will change the older i get.
  15. Check yourself before you jump. If you get into the habit of doing this and not just walking on to the flightline and sticking your rig in someones face and asking them to check you. Nobody should ever have to pick up anything wrong with your kit. I know in the uk they usually will pick it up - but if you start to let people find stuff set up wrong youll be screwed if you ever try to jump in the us where its your own responsibility. Also dont start proding stuff in or pulling stuff out without first askin the person whose gear it is. It really pisses me off when someone just comes up to you and starts screwing around with my rig without even consulting me. Adi
  16. Good day Adi Edit - woo hoo i just moved up in the ranks!!!
  17. Its actually 72.4% Its nice to be important - but its more important to be nice! - not too sure about the second bit

Thats wierd as. When i was at college i used to make the guys in my room observe a mins silence whenever a cool number came up. If we were up late spinnin the shit we'd usually observe 11:11 , 00:00 or 12:34 (depending on clock type), 12:51, 01:23, 02:50 and 05:20 (if it was a really good night). But 11:11 was always the really good one. 11:11 foreva man Adi
  20. Jon It sucks to have to wait sooooooooooooo long to do your AFF. But if you started and couldnt afford to finish/had to wait a few weeks between jumps you would be wasting your money as you'd end up retaking levels + shit. Youll end up a much better jumper if you get AFF + consols done quickly then continue to jump ur ass off (preferably abroad - just dont come home) When you get home dont stop jumping (ever) or youll loose the advantage of getting through AFF quick. The wind tunnel will be opening up sometime next year - get in it. Get as much coaching + video as yo can afford, then buy abit more on cards + stuff. Jumps with good video or a coach are worth 3+ normal jumps as far as improving skills goes. Adi
