Hello, I learned ws on a GTi, with a Sabre 135 main in a Vector. Line twists now and then, nothing to chop. I now fly S3 and V1 with the same main, and have about the same result. Line twists now and then, nothing to chop, imho. You have to be in control on deployment, or you get twists. There is another thread about that right around here somewhere. I also use 9' bridle with bigger pc's. You can anticipate the spin and counter with a wing or leg. My second rig is a Wings, just put in a Spectre 170. Hello, Maybe I am an experienced BASE jumper. Certainly I have had some experiences BASE jumping. I do agree with your assessment of the aforementioned "nugget". When you get right down to it, the ONLY risk is the object or the ground. Exceptions to that are remote, ie. another jumper, a bird, a flying saucer. Mis-rigging, poor body position, lack of awareness, malfunction, etc., etc. all still lead to the object or the ground. The individuals who have the right to decide, apparently, are those that are asked to instruct. I have been asked to instruct. Once, I said yes. After my "student" made one jump, I retired from instructing. My opinion, right then based on my experience, was that nobody should BASE jump. (My student did fine, not a scratch). Which is more dangerous for whom? I am only a danger to myself when I BASE jump. If your hypothetical untrained and ill equipped novice goes ahead with jump plans, he is only a danger to himself. Saving his life will not affect the danger of my next jump.
