I just had a nice surprise visit by Shawndiver and he brought me a road trip survival kit! A Jet Figher Coloring book with crayons (he said that was for Geno but I'm going to play with it first) Playing cards an eye mask with ear plugs and an evil penguin doll (I guess he wants me to fall asleep and have nightmares of penguins) I'm all set! I feel the fear every time I do something a little different like jump with new people, try different gear, do a skydive I've never done, jump at a new dropzone, etc. It's entertwined with excitement. I love that feeling. If I'm at my own dz doing the same thing I tend to get more relaxed but even then, every once in a while, I see something happen and it slaps that comfort zone away for a while. Um.. sorry for the confusion here but he's just a tandem student. He's done a couple of tandems a long time ago. He is NOT the instructor. I'd love to be able to jump with him and maybe dock him for a second but if it's not possible that's ok. I'd be happy just to be on the load with him. It's great that he's even coming out since I haven't seen him in about 7 years. Well here's the story. I'd planned on going to Lost Prairie this year and I'm really looking forward to it but... My brother calls me last week and tells me that he has decided to plan his wedding the last weekend of Lost Prairie. The nerve of him!!! Really I'm very happy he's getting married and I won't miss it for the world but this means I'm going to have to leave Lost Prairie on Thursday before the big weekend of fun and fly down to Ontario, CA. It also means about $700 extra for airfare. I'm just wondering what you guys would do. Should I wait til next year and experience the entire thing and just go to a few smaller boogies? Should I go to Rantoul instead? Should I save up my vacation time for Eloy? AGH!! I'm so very happy for my brother but damn I sure am disappointed about this. -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.)

I'm really looking forward to this weekend! Perris is where I did my very first tandem about 10 years ago and I haven't been back since. It took me about 8 years to do another one and I could finally afford AFF. I just talked one of the guys that did a tandem with me that first time 10 years ago to come out on Sunday and do another one!
