  1. I guess I was out of the know. It doesn't say if his attempt was actually sucessful. I assume he landed the PG, but it doesn't say. The site you linked has a skydiving canopy built for maxium glide (very simular to a PG) . I wonder if they have or are close to bridging the gap between modern PG and skydiving canopies. I mean a canopy that can be deployed at terminal and then flown as an actual PG. We could exit at 12,500, freefall untill 3 or 4 grand deploy the paraglider canopy and then potentially find a thermal and climb back to 12,500! That would be sweet! For the price of one jump ticket you could spend hours in the air. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
  2. I'm about to start PG course in may so I've been surfing sites and I found this http://www.flyozone.com/pgframe.htm Does anybody know if this was a stunt or are people trying to make paragliders deployable in freefall? (Anythings deployable) I guess the better question is are they trying to develop a canopy thats deployable at terminal and then has the same flight characteristics of a PG? Is this news or Im I just behind. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

    goin for a ride

The point is to cruise around and get some air, but not that much! http://video.tododo.com/airtime/airtime_by_radicool.net_wmv9_320x240.wmv "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
  4. Unfortunetly we had quit a bit of wind and some rain. Hopefully sunday will be better. Dave the DZO and master rigger here set up a dual back with two round canopies, with reg risers with 3-ring. He originally did it for him, just for old times sake, but I had to try it. Now its not enough to just jump a round. Now I want to try it the old way. So I just packed up a chest mount reserve and hopfully after some more practice of the emergency procedures I'll be able to jump that system soon. I had to seriously concentrate and visualize the whole way to altitude and try really hard not to toss the handle! I have video of the first two jumps and it just looks really strange to see me or anyone with a freefly suit and helmet cam under a round canopy! Who knows maybe one day years and years from now people will be jumping the same canopies we use today for nastagia jumps. Thanks for all the help, I'll use it as soon as I get a chance. 5. I was out at the DZ today packing and a guy came by to drop off his rig for repack and we started talking about the "old days". Well he did I wasn't around back then. He had pix of him doing a demo into a golf course with a Para-commander and the pix clearly show him standing up the landing and grabbing the US flag before it hit the deck. Is a stand up landing on a round fairly common? Maybe am just easily impressed. I recently got to jump a round a couple times, but I don't think I could have stood it up. He was talking about reaching up and grabing the risers at about 12 feet above the ground and pulling them down to the shoulders then letting them go at about 3 feet then stand up the landing. Has anyone ever heard of this or done it? Im just curious. Since jumping a round I have some serious respect for those of you who learned on or spent your entire jump career under a round canopy. I think we should institute a canopy appreciation day and have everyone jump a round atleast once. Of course all the old timers are exempt. It also makes me glad I learned how to spot (which is a dieing art if you ask me). I'll jump a PC tomorrow or sunday just to see if his method works for me. Don't worry I'll get video, should be an interesting landing. I only weigh like 145lbs so I've had pretty soft landings so far. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
  6. This actually works I've seen it with my own two eyes! It wasn't pretty, but it was effective. #1- Never say her name, not even to yourself. No talking about her to anyone period! Stay active, get out and keep busy. The last thing you need is time alone to think. #2- In the event that rule number #1 is broken, you must always refer to her as SATAN. I realize this doesn’t have the same negative effect for some people, so be creative. #3- You must get rid of everything she ever gave you, plus all the pictures of her, the love letters everything that might remind you of her must go. #4- You can't frequent the places you used to go together for at least six 6 months after the break up. #5- Absolutely no contact with her, forget her number, remove it from your cell, and never ever call (even if you’re drunk at 4am). #6- Stop being friends with her family members, and if you ever run into them never ever ask them about her. #7- Never date any of her friends or anyone that reminds you of her. #8- If possible limit exposure to "your" song/movie/anything else crap #9- No drinking/Smoking away the pain. #10- No serious dating for at least 6 months (this varies depending one how long you where together, approx. 1/3 the total time you where exclusive) #11- Move out of town/county/state/country whatever is necessary. #12- If you've tried all eleven of the above guidelines with little or no progress then you have no choice but to sleep with her best friend (or sister) get drunk call her at 4am from outside her bedroom window while wackin-off! This being done you've surely come to the realization that there’s no way she'll take you back now. Which should offer some peace of mind? "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

  8. I jumped this canopy last weekend. Its the U.S. version of the papillon (none of that french crap for me!) I didn't flare it, but it did turn in place well. I don't know if its still around, but you might try the "thunderbow". I've even heard you can flare a para-commander using the rear risers. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

    Ouch!

http://bundy.hibo.no/~blu/video/c6.wmv Its not skydiving but a fine example of why kids (or anyone for that matter) shouldn't be allowed on or near the landing area. I have nothing against kids, but if your going to neglect them at least chain them to a near by tree. Then again I saw a similar incident where a skydiver was taking pictures, but was to busy looking through the view finder. She ended up catching a riser to the face, and got pretty well slammed. Good Times! "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

    Paragliding video

I found this posted on a PG forum. It was titled "why I don't paraglide" (posted by a hang glider pilot). The other post said it was pilot error, and gave a link that discussed it in detail. Here read it for yourself....dam it no clicky..... http://www.crestlinesoaring.org/index.htm "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

    Paragliding video

I almost put this in the "Related sports" section, but it does fit in the "BASE ZONE" really. Interesting video though. I know there are a few people who are also PG pilots on here. Maybe they could share some insite into why it wasn't recoverable. Sorry no clicky. http://existenciel.org/Download/Videos/spirale.wmv "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

  13. First off "low life". Ok. I'll take that. I like it down here. You said some things that make me think your either gay, fat or both (your just a little to sensitive) Not that theres anything wrong with that. Though it does help me understand you comments. Unfortunately I don't make those kinds of videos....sorry. But Hey the skydiving community is a diverse lot, and I'm sure you'll find you place in it. Good luck with that. 15. I don't know where to begin. You obviously have no grasp of my dream. Yes I've seen some hootage in my time, but I won't rest till I've seen them all. P.S. Thanks for your opinion. Just curious was your wife/girlfriend/mother/sister or someone staring over your shoulder when you posted. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
  16. First of all when was the last time you saw quality T&A at skydivemovies.com? NEVER! Not a drunk chick to be found. Sad, so sad. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
  17. Well I guess this goes in this forum it has to do with skydiving, somewhat. I have been online looking at video trailers of a wide variety. Skiing, motocross, kite boarding, paragliding, MTN biking, and wakeboarding to name a few. It saddens me not seeing as many skydiving/BASE videos. I've thought long and hard about what we the skydiving community should do. Before I get to that I should explain the problem. It has been proven by the tremendous increase in motocross video sales that the formula for success lay in said videos. I believe we could adapt that same formula for skydiving/BASE videos. I'm not saying we should copy, but we should utilize their finer points. We could do without the projectile vomiting, and Poo throwing. But I truly believe deep in my heart that the skydiving/BASE video audience want, na deserve MORE freakin T&A! Would it kill ya ta throw in some drunk chicks makin out. I don't think so! I mean really, lighten up. This world is full of chicks willing to take their clothes off, and is it to much to ask to get that on freakin tape. It is just so clear the path we should take. Pass out flyers at your local hooters restaurant. Take up a collection and by your favorite stripper a naked tandem. Its all about the scenery people. Im sorry if I come across as...no..no...Im not sorry I feel very passionate about this! I won't sit idly by and let the sport I love be misused. I suggest we band together, form an alliance, take an oath. For justice and nudity for some! VIVA la revolution!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who's with me? "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

    RADIX VIDEO DONE

Hey everybody my copy of RADIX just came in the mail today. I've already watched it twice! It has a little bit of everything. More ski BASE then probably any video out there. Some sweet jumps, and some scary shit. The new years opening sequence is great! The Norway footage has more then the usual wingsuit/tracking jumps. Plus this DVD has some hilarious extras. Not to mention it has that famous guy. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

    Idaho or bust

Heading up to Idaho this Wednesday the 14th for about a week or so. I'll be driving from around fresno ca up the 99 and so forth, anyone along the way is welcome to come along. I've read the article on blinc in the knowledge BASE travel section on the perrine, curious if theres anything else I should know. I haven't jumped there before, so any advice on what to do or what not to do would be nice (besides the obvious 1. no jumping from the top of the rail, or 2. jumping with skis on, or 3. jumping from the top of the rail with skis on). Has anyone used the guide service, and if so was it worth it? Is it still common practice to call the sheriff? Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Jason

    helmet cams

I went skiing on saturday and took my helmet cam. I wrapped it in that clear plastic clinging stuff(, the name escapes me). Im glad I did it rained/snowed. A very wet day. I ended up taking the camera to the car about mid day. Low light combined with water on the lens made for crappy video anyway. The extra weight on my head didn't help either(duh Right). I was throwing 360's off a 6 footer, and not quit sticking the landing, still experiencing slight wiplash. Much better video from a second person. The camera worked fine and stayed dry, but I was getting paranoid about it getting wet. I have the viosport camera I think I'll try next time. Another thing I tried with limited success was attaching my camera to an RC stunt car. Definitely a interesting view, but again I got paranoid about damaging the camera. So we took it off and ran the car back and forth shooting at it with paintball makers. Yea we were bored. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%

    helmet cams

I recently went to vegas to do a little gambling and bungy jumping with the boys a AJ Hackett. Actually I was there for a wedding, but I never go to vegas without jumping off something. Anyway I took my helmet cam to get some cool footage of the jumps. I was wondering if anybody has ever tried to get on a coaster or other ride and been denied? I'm going to magic mountain next weekend for a friends b-day, and hoping to get some decent video. "HIGAF" Honestly I Give A F*^%
