Besides, she'll look even scarier in another fifty years. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

During World War II, american interrogators of Japanese POWs found that the most effective method of eliciting real useful information was to treat their prisoners humanely and develop a relationship with them. which took some time and effort, but paid off in the long run. But this current administration has no time for patience or for any information they don't want to hear. Torture doesn't yield information, it yields CONFESSIONS. That big Al Qaeda fatass who was nabbed in Pakistan a few years back was waterboarded has confessed to EVERYTHING. I think he even confessed to killing Lizzy Borden's parents. He confessed to so many things that his confessions aren't worth a damn. Most CIA and SERE School trainees are reduced to screaming jello after just 15 seconds of waterboarding. Mr. Al Qaeda is said to have lasted a full two minutes before he confessed to everything back to Cain murdering Abel. If Bush were waterboarded, he'd confess to being a serial child molester on national TV, just to make it stop. Aside from the moral arguments, torture is simply useless for getting REAL information. And the fact that the President of the United States LIES about our country not using torture, while he secretly authorizes it, makes us all look very very bad in the eyes of the rest of the world. Our ARABIC numeral system, including the number for zero. And, uh belly dancing, and uh - oh yeah - it the Arabs who brought about the revival of "Baywatch" ! The show had been a single season failure until Arab men got hooked on the reruns. Or so I've heard. But the numerals are the honest to God truth.... Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Bush's ship is sinking. Is anyone still taking him seriously anymore? I don't think anyone believes a word he says. The good news is there are only 412 days left to his administration. the bad news is that it would only take one of those days for him to start the next war. So keep your fingers crossed. i've had a few past mistakes and haven't done anything since the last one. Nor do i have any plans to. I do fun things, but I'm safe about it, and have always tried to. Unfortunately in the past i've had a few accidents. It's in the past, i've learned from them. I don't feel it's necessary to have to defend myself on this goofy posting. This is the last i'm saying with it. You don't have to apologize for a thing. Was it a crazy thing to do ? Yeah, I think so. I wouldn't have done it. But what the hell, you did it, lived, and have a GREAT story to tell for the rest of your life. (Be careful telling the grandkids though, wait a few years or one of them might get "et" trying to do like their grandpaw...) Guys like you make America great (and some of you probably keep the alligators fed as well, but fortunately not you). Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

I'll let you in on a little secret: the educational discount. Once you select the piece of hardware you want, it should be a link right under its picture. It knocks a few hundred bucks off the price. So maybe give it a look... it knocked my MBP down $300! Plus they might throw in some extras as well. I bought my daughter a Mac Book for college last summer at a good discounted price. We also got rebate deals on a HP printer/scanner, and an iPod. With the rebates, the printer came out absolutely free and we got a top of the line iPod for about $65. And my daughter says her Mac Book is "totally awesome". Which is what I was hoping she'd say. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

I'd love to one of these years, but I'm squeezing in a quick visit with my parents in Boston that week. That and I live just 67 mi. from Perris, which is having a boogie too, with a "jet". And I can just drive home at night and come back the next day, as often as I like... Mebbe next year. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

"Illusion" is one of the very best I've ever seen. It was posted here a few years back, but I'd lost it. thanks for posting it again. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Amelie. Even better if you speak French, then you can turn the subtitles off (I don't, so I can't). It's VERY funny and a great story. And I like Audrey Tautou. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

In 1980 a guy named Tom DeMotts was killed at Perris attempting to do the same thing. In those days the pilot chute was mounted on a belly band and he had managed to pack a twist of bridle around his belly band. This was a common cause of PCIT malfunctions in those days and led to the elimination of belly bands. But it killed him all the same. He was seen trying to haul in his p/c for "clean shot" with his reserve (which was probably a round in those days, with no freebag). A PCIT is an ugly scary malfunction. There simply is NO guaranteed happy ending. But your best - and only - real chance is a fast pull on the reserve. (Pulling your cutaway is optional, some do, some don't. USPA says either way is okay, provided you make your plan ahead of time and stick with it.) Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Having kids is not selfish. It can unfortunately be carelessly done, or done for the wrong reasons. But most of the people I know who have never had kids didn't because they wanted to keep playing with their own toys instead of growing up. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Let's assume Hilary actually wins both of the next two elections; that would mean 24 years of Presidency held by TWO families. Sad really and that wouldn't necessarily be the end of it either. And to think we used to worry about the Kennedys..... It would be odd to hink this reasoning might be used against Hillary, but not against Jeb. Time was when the only father/son fluke was the Adams presidents, but that was so long ago as to be ancient history, and besides Pops was already dead before JQ was even elected. A Constitutional amendment barring family relatives for a minimum of fifty years might be in order, but would never happen, besides which it would've barred FDR from running. Maybe voters just need to THINK a little more about who they vote for ? Now there's a concept ! Because Presidents will nominate the people who think like them for the Supreme Court. and for the Courts of Appeals, and for the District Courts. As for Bushes and/or Clintons doing the nominating, I don't see that their choices are any different from any other Republicans or Democrats likely to serve in the White House. I hope she doesn't throw her life away. Keep a VERY close eye on her. I used to go to a state college about 20 miles from Cornell. We used to have a joke that if we flunked out, we'd get shitfaced and have a hangover to die for, while Cornell students would leap off a bridge. Then a friend of mine at Cornell came home one night to find his roomate had hung himself in their room. Your friend needs counseling and she needs her friends to stick with her closely. I'm not saying she's suicidal, but don't dare rule it out. Grad programs and stuff like med school are very high stakes educations with huge futures in the balance. You need to help her LIVE through this. And I'm not being overly dramatic either. I'm not kidding. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

"Bay Area air quality regulators are considering banning wood fires in residential fireplaces on bad air quality nights I think the operative phrase here is on bad air quality nights (or days). When I lived in the Seattle area, there were days when conditions like atmospheric inversions would cause a ban on wood burning fireplaces and wood stoves, UNLESS the fireplace or wood stove was the ONLY source of heat for the home. So, while the San Fran sissies would probably like to ban everything from guns to Gummie Bears, this kind of a ban on wood smoke is not unheard of, or entirely unreasonable. I'm just waiting to hear that the voters in San Fran are getting fed up with letting the city regulate every minute of their lives. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

I recently got a brand new Pilot and was dreading packing a brand new canopy. But it just isn't that bad. Pilots don't use the So. African ZP anymore that was easier, that mill has gone out of business. The new stuff really is VERY slippery. But all you need is a little patience with it. Don't rush things and don't overdo it, those two things will make the canopy fluff all over the place. Just take your time and you'll be surprised and maybe even a little bit smug when you get that baby in the bag. And I'm talking about a standard pro-pack, by the way. Do you believe President Bush's actions justify impeachment?

I'd rather see Congress waterboard him. since he doesn't seem to think waterbaording is torture, he shouldn't have any objection to being subjected to it. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity ! -

Fokken was also the Dutch word for fuckin', which English sailors learned from16th century Dutch sailors. One of the many contributions to English from other languages. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Cold air is denser. If anything, it should shake out your canopy quicker. Just to clear up this fine point, there's no reason cold air should make your canopy snivel any worse (unless you packed it soaking wet and it's frozen solid, of course). Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Depends on what you want. I'm older generation, old school, low tech and perfectly happy with a FT-50 on the back of my hand and a Pro-Dytter inside my helmet. I hardly even use the FT-50 anymore, except under canopy and I find the Pro-Dytter is just waht I need for setting breakoff, pull and hard deck altitudes in freefall. You might want to have all the data & statistics on every jump, but I personally skydive to get away from all that shit, so it doesn't mean much to me. If you do want all the bells and whistles, there are any number of altis out there that will foot the bill, both audible and visual, digital or otherwise. You can probably even find one to stick up your ass and tickle you at pull time for all I know. Just depends on what you want.... Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !
