See if you can get anything into Long Beach (try Jet Blue). Long Beach is a lovely little airport and it's just a few miles from the 91 Fwy. John Wayne Orange County is also a good one. Both airports will put you a lot closer to the Perris-Elsinore area than either LAX or San Diego. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

I suppose it's nicer than dog poop (real or fake). But people often live to regret acting on such "good ideas". For the ladies, there's the ever popular broom with a brake handle..... Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

It's easy to take a cheap shot at any religion, or all of them. But what do you have to offer as an alternative, other than being a confrontational nihilist ? It's easy to point out the flaws of anything or anybody, because truthfully, we all have them, and some of them are really serious. My own religious belief in God is based on a not entirely rational belief that things actually could be better and that we don't have to surrender to hopelessness. Can your bitter doctrine of "reality" offer anything better than despair ? Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

No, it states that the net negative effect of racism in the electorate, all else being equal, is a 6% disadvantage to a black candidate for president just on account of being black. Well then, that's just one extra hurdle for the Obama campaign to deal with. So far they've handled everything the Clintons spewed at them for months on end. It's unfortunate that anyone would vote for or against any of the candidates because they're black, or a woman, or even an old white guy. This country is in the deepest shit it's been in for a very long time. If we don't get it right we could see our economy and social order fall apart. We could see another World War (the last one came about in large part because of the Great Depression). Search your conscience and refuse to vote your fears, this election is going to count like no other. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

If you guys won't say it, I will. Repub VP nom Sarah Palin is doable.

It wouldn't be hard to make Tina look like Sarah for a parody sketch. -
I think it's very likely the murderer will be convicted. Unfortunately, he's also got a made in the shade appeal, because the prosecution systematically kept ANY blacks off the jury. The defense team objected to it and the judge ruled against them. You can bet there will appeals in both the Nevada State courts and Federal courts if need be. It's too bad that the prosecution had to make that move, but when you consider that the jury in LA acquitted him inspite of the considerable evidence, it's apparent that no black jury is willing to convict him of anything, simply because Simpson is black and a sports hero. I know, I know, the fact that the detective Mark Furman perjured himself on some irrelevant points didn't help things a bit. But it seems the jury was "not willing to send one more black man to prison for murdering white folks" (or "some white bitch" as it was explained to me at work by a black colleague of mine...). Also, the jury did not feel - correctly - that Simpson represented a risk to THEIR community, i.e. he was not about to drive down their streets spraying bullets at their children. The charges Simpson is facing in Vegas are the kind of bullshit those people won't tolerate out of ANYONE, let alone a black man. I mean, their promises are bullshit, they're going to convict Simpson for the current charges, as well as a backdoor strategy for the deaths of Nicole simpson and Ronald Goldman. He will in part be convicted for being black, which is wrong, but in Nevada that's how it will play. The appeals will drag on for years and we should be expecting to hear considerable oratory from Brothers Jackson & Sharpton. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Interesting concept. However, it seems rather complicated. How does a device like this leave a tip at the end ? And finally, you lose the fun of watching somebody put it on you with their mouth. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Wow, where to begin.... I'm a bit of a Trekkie too, I like them all and still remember watching the original when it was brand new. My favorite is DS9, the real jewel in the crown, because the writing and character development were so good - great actors too. Jeri Ryan was great in Voyager too... Let's see, what else ? The Avengers Dead Like Me Joan of Arcadia Ripcord Night Stalker (the original) Twilight Zone (original) Night Gallery Saturday Night Live The Bullwinkle Show Mad About You Two and a Half Men Dexter Almost Live (local Seattle show of the nineties) The Prisoner Pee Wee's Playhouse Three Stooges Bugs Bunny Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

That's nice of him. If it siphons off a few votes from McCain and the Pit Bull, I might even wear a foil hat for a day just to thank him. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Michael Moore looks like the fat & ugly kid who would throw a stink bomb into the girls' locker room in hopes of causing a stampede of naked girls in the hallway. And his films are on the same level. Next question ? Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

The Pope's not even Italian ! What could anyone possibly have to say about a Pope who manned an anti aircraft battery as a teenage Flakhilfer during the war ? He was only protecting all that slave labor from the Dachau camp across the street from Allied bombs..... Sheeezzzz, some people..... Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Do you think having the views that Michelle does will reflect positively on our country? Do you think the views that Bush & Cheney have reflect positively on our country ? Or the views of a madwoman from Alaska who can't wait to go to war with Russia before she's even (hopefull never) elected ? Or are you just upset to see in print what's on the minds of a lot of educated black women in their younger idealistic years ? Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

Biden will not drop out, unless he wants to repeat the fatal mistake of Tom Eagleton in 1972, which sealed the fate of an already doomed McGovern ticket. Obama is far from doomed, he's still the likely winner. Especially since Pitbull Sarah Palin is now ready to hop into a war with Russia. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

One of the problems with the web is that you get SO much information so quickly. Years ago, when things were actually a lot hairier, it would take months, even years to hear so much scary stuff. By then you'd have the experience to temper your perspective. But now, you have all the dirty laundry hung out before you, while you still don't have the perspective. Keep jumping and jump safe. Don't get complacent. A safe jumper gets noticed and respected. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

The f*ckin' names some people give their kids!
tbrown replied to RastaRicanAir's topic in The Bonfire
Anybody here old enough to remember Picabu Street ? She was an American Olympic downhill skier in the nineties. Parents were hippies who believed in letting their children pick their own names. Their daughter was into peek-a-boo at the time and that was the name she got, Picabu Street. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity ! -

Would you vote for this candidate for President?
tbrown replied to nerdgirl's topic in Speakers Corner
Quote He was a failed businessman. He lost his first campaign. He had 8 years experience in a State legislature. He lost two successive campaigns. He had 2 years experience in the US House of Representatives. He was considered a great orator by those who agreed with him. He had zero executive experience. Would you vote for a Presidential candidate with that background? __________________________________________________ America did - in 1860 and again in 1864, in the middle of the bloodiest war our country's ever fought. And today he's considered one of our two greatest Presidents, right up there with George Washington. And by the way, George Washington was considered by many to be an aloof aristocrat and a bad general who lost too many battles. Probably no getting around the fact that he was a slave owner. But he held up a perfect example of what a President should be - a Commander In Chief who had the good sense to retire after two terms and who refused to accept any titles fancier than "Mr. President". Another remarkable choice was the Senator from Missouri who was so wrapped up in a corrupt political machine that FDR wouldn't endorse his Senate campaign. But once elected to the Senate, he spearheaded a Senate committee investigation into massive waste in the wartime industries, saving our country millions of dollars. So the same FDR took him on as his Vice President. And within months he became President when FDR died. He ordered the two nukes dropped on Japan that ENDED the Second World War. In 1948 he integrated the armed forces and went on to beat an opponent who was such a sure thing that the newspaper headlines read "DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN". So you can never really tell what the office will make of the man (or woman - it WILL happen....). Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity ! -
Oh for Pete's sake Sarah, you look just great. I'm old enough to remember Twiggy and the sixties, so I don't really consider that to be a true miniskirt, unless you take the jr. high school definition of "3 in. above the knee".... Your stepdaughter is just getting to the age where she'd be mortified to be seen within 100 yards of you at the mall anyway, so that's really what's going on. Don't worry. Besides, as a skydiver, you're covered under the "Oh yeah ? Sez you !" exemption.... Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !

This is by far the most disturbing thing I've heard about Sarah Palin.
tbrown replied to jenfly00's topic in Speakers Corner
Now this would be an issue. The Republicans though would probably enjoy holding book burning bonfires at her rallies, though I think McCain would ask them not to at his gatherings. He doesn't seem the "burning" type. And if the Republicans don't want to burn the books, I'm sure some of the young hellraisers who like to picket things would be more than happy to do it outside her rallies.... Not a bad idea, really.
