Bull fighting is a tradition but so was putting humans in arenas with lions in Rome. Other animals torture animals (i.e. Orcas and seals; cats and mice) but they are also not thinking and reasoning animals like we are. Some activities at rodeos are cruel; not all. I know that the activities in rodeos are based on ranching necessity, but raking a cattle prod over an animal's back to make it buck more violently is not part of that ranching necessity. I'm not a tree-hugging hippie - I eat meat and have no problem with hunting, but I don't want anything to suffer unneccesarily. ..................................................................... At student level, I was supposed to do my first clear and pull (hop and pop) at 3500. Thank goodness they took me to 6000 because I would have bounced. That is when I had a hard pull, horseshoe malfunction and sniveling reserve.
