  1. Or you can look at it as putting all the Bounce in your clothes that they can handle so you don't have to add any bounce to them at the DZ. Spin it positive.
  2. If you are not a troll, I hate that you are getting such negative response, but please understand that skydivers take their home DZs and affiliated DZs very personally. It's almost like slamming a family member. That said, I have jumped at Skydive Chicago and found it to be a very safe DZ. When I was there, three specific landing areas were designated. One for swoopers, one for experienced jumpers and another for students and low-number jumpers. I chose the latter area because I don't like to fight for real estate. Rook, co-DZO, was one of the friendliest jumpers I have ever encountered. He is a world-champion skydiver and is very focused not only on his skill sets but the safety and training of others. I would give them a shot. And while you are at it, try the other DZs in the area including Chicagoland. I have never jumped there, but Doug and Todd seem to be very friendly people who are willing to go the extra mile. Enjoy. ..................................................................... 3. Here's a previous post on the same topic. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1025695;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread ..................................................................... 4. Peter - The Pink Mafia Sisters LOVE you very very much. Come see us at Gold Coast. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
  5. He did 2 tandems. I was there. It was at Gold Coast Skydivers in Moss Point. I also was there when Lance Bass jumped with the GKs in Elsinor during the 2003 Chicks Rock Boogie. I saw all these cameras and little girls and I thought they were there for us. Yeah, not so much. I told Lance about my misapprehension and he laughed about it. I hear that he is doing another jump and making a promo out of it. The fan who wins the promo can do a tandem with the GKs with Lance Bass. Most celebs who are working have a "no risky sports or events" clause in their contract. Others can only do jumps with the GKs. ..................................................................... 6. His name is Bob Burquist (sp?), professional skateboarder who started skydiving and had a sponsor before he was off student status. Must be nice.
  7. I love this site: http://www.masterstech-home.com/ASLDict.html ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
  8. OMG - I was thinking of the very same song when I saw this thread. Of course the way Will sings it would be "She bang. She bang. She move. She move." ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
  9. I had a friend who started skydiving there with two tandems before moving to the states. I saw the video of one of the tandems and it looked beautiful. There was quite the hike from the DZ office to the airstrip and the landing area did look smaller than most of the DZs I have seen, but it is long. Overall, the view looked unfathomly grand. I second the motion to open high and enjoy the scenery. Bring water gear; they are a USPA DZ and you want to be safe.

  13. I am bumping this post because I want to ensure that all who read the first post do see that Chicagoland did resolve the issue at hand. I just want to be fair and for this post to have equal time in the readers' eyes. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
  14. Because of Doug's response to this forum, I felt I owed Doug a chance to right the situation at the very least. The 10% loss was not as important as showing all the DZ.commers who read this post that Doug and Chicagoland did right by Phil and myself in the end. ..................................................................... 15. Phil must have. But all is taken care of, now, and I am a happy camper. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
  16. Thanks to all that offered constructive suggestions to handle the little snafu I was entangled with. Doug offered to refund the money making me an extremely happy girl. THANKS, DOUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. "CS refused to refund his account even though they had not even processed the internet transaction, yet." This was a vital quote from my very first post. There shouldn't have been any "hidden costs" or any true refund or breaking of no-refund rules because when Phil told them about the mistake, they had not processed his order, yet. They processed it after learning of the error. I know the DZOs didn't do this, but their entrusted, paid representatives of the company did this and offered no restitution. PEOPLE!!! READ!!!!!!!!!!!! I am still awaiting Doug's response and I will let you know how it goes. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
  18. Unfortunately, the GC states that it is only good for one year after the issue date. But that's minutia. Next steps are that I am awaiting to hear from Doug and I will then let everyone know the outcome. I appreciate people offering to purchase the GC from me, greatly, but I am going to let Doug have a shot at righting the situation because I owe that to him. Thanks again for those that have offered support.

  20. Why do I feel like I've just arrived in Stepford? Keith - I appreciate your understanding in this matter. I am not an evil person that thows people to the wolves on a regular occasion. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
  21. I figured not everyone would agree with me and I love everyone's differing opinions, but I stand by my decision to take this public because so far, it is the only route that has garnered any forward response after several phone calls and emails. Now, if all goes well with CSC, I PROMISE to report a follow-up story. I am a very fair girl and it takes a lot to push me to this point. As an added note - I did send CSC another email this morning per some of your responses to this post to make another effort to resolve this issue. Plus, I was very pleased to see that Doug has acknowledged this post and hope to hear from him soon. I thank y'all for your advice and opinions. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
  22. I sent y'all an email today and look forward to resolving this soon. As I stated before, Phil did try to resolve this with y'all first. It wasn't until he was given a strict "no refund" answer and many months had passed did I take this public. I look forward to seeing what we can do. Please email me so I can get you my phone number and hopefully we can put this little snafu behind us. ..................................................................... 23. I guess I'll try to contact them once more just to see if they have changed their tune. I'll let you guys know what happens. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
  24. I told him to do that, but he thought Chicagoland would do the right thing after he emailed them and spoke to them a few times. They just never did. tisk, tisk, tisk. ..................................................................... PMS#28, Pelogrande Rodriguez#1074 My Pink M
