  1. yesterday one of the D licensed coaches told an A licensed skydiver that he "pulled too close to Kevin (me) and should have pulled at 3500ft minimum with and A license" I was looking in the 2004 SIM and didn't see anything to back this up.....so was this just his opinion or have I missed something in the SIM? Do A licensed skydivers have to pull by 3500ft now???
  2. Went over to the west side to check it out for the weekend and definitely will be going back. Great place to jump a lot because they send the plane up almost constantly. The loads were organized and everyone knew who was going pond side and who was landing in the main area and don't get me started on how large of a landing area.
  3. About my 20th jump I entered the aircraft with my Astra AAD turned off. In the plane I looked down and saw that it was off and without thinking I turned it on at about 3500ft. Jumped at 13,000 went to deploy at 4500 and boom I had two canopies out. Main was above me, reserve was below and coming up fast but I first had to get my foot out of the reserve lines then off my head. When the two seperated I cut the main away and still had 2200 to get back to the DZ for my lecture on GEAR CHECK now theres a sign at the gate made especially for me. NO GEAR CHECK NO PLANE RIDE!!
  4. Adema "Giving in" Three Days Grace "I Hate Everything about you" Korn "Freak on a Leash" Limp Bizkit " Just like this" Limp Bizkit "Re-Arranged" Prodigy "Firestarter" Hive "Ultrasonic sound" Gavin Rossdale "Adrenaline" Orbital "Technologicque" Moby "Landing" The Prodigy "Mindfields" Eve 6 "open road" These are my favorites, Listen to them all the way through to appreciate.
  5. 4500 Stop all turns time to shake everyone loose 4000 say bye turn and track 3000 stop track check ground wave and throw this one also starts the internal clock in my head 8 seconds to have something out
  6. We set our track directions first...If I am lurking then I will fly to the west...stay to the west.... track to the west....or which ever direction we pre determine....When the TM signals the camera man I track like hell to 3000 then slow for a couple of seconds before deployment.
  7. I have always gotten a laugh when in front of the family members of the student I ask the TM "so your still going to jump that rig even after the recall?" OR "I thought they red taged that gear after the last jump" and usually the TM responds "Yeah but it was the only one that was packed"

    FEAR

make a nice easy jump with a coach and let him know your fears. pull high like 5000 then work it back down over time. it will pass the more you jump. also keep your eyes open when you pull you'll begin to watch the opening in slow motion.

    Lock Picking

22 years as a locksmith own my shop with two employees we do not charge so much that it would be better for you to buy picks and learn yourself First get a spare key for everything!! buy a key safe for attachment to the outside of your house. call a locksmith if you forget to do the above. we're fast and cheap ($35.00) thats cheaper than a pick set and if you get pulled over by the cops you won't have to explain why you have picks
  10. There is a difference between Phillips DVDR 75 and the one I'm telling you about DVDR+75 you can't get the PAL feature with the DVDR 75 only you must have the model DVDR+75
  11. if you haven't purchased it yet I suggest the Phillips dvdr+ 75 from "Overseas Electronics" it's about $480.00 but it will play and write in either PAL or NTSC for the overseas visitors. I have burned alot of video for my family in Italy and they have not had any problems with the videos I've sent and they can send me videos that I can watch here too. This recorder was by far the easiest to set up and run with about one days fooling around to become a pro. Hey also Dan Oden is over here at Richland Skysports now. No you can't have him back!!!
  12. No go go Juice no GO Married to an Italian 21 years I'm addicted to esspresso
  13. Hey Roy, Yeah I received the helmet and hooked up the camera but I'm afraid of snow Last year I jumped all through the winter but I haven't jumped in the snow yet....Open face helmet you know
  14. I really don't think it's the way that I'm packing because I just switched over to the Triathlon 220 that I barrowed from a friend and it slams open which I love compared to the waiting I'm used to...three seconds and I have a canopy but the one that I'm complaining about is the PD 260 with about 200 jumps on it. that's the one that takes forever to open...I am 240lbs out the door, could it be it's under loaded? or?....
  15. My problem is the opposite of what I've been reading and that is that the canopy comes out of the bag at line stretch but then I have another six seconds to watch it as it opens. ..I pro pack my canopy and do not roll the nose and put it in the bag as loose as I possibly can... While at line stretch I look up and see that the lines are straight and the slider is square but stays up...I have even changed the slider to a smaller one to try and cause the canopy to open faster but it justs stays up the delaying and I wait and wait......so what do you think?
  16. You know I think that if the student heard the tone he or she may pull the cutaway even if they had a canopy opening!!!.......lets say theres a delayed opening or a slow opening but it is opening??......they might cutaway a good canopy..my old canopy sometimes took a 1000' to open but when I looked up it had line stretch and the slider was straight and coming down but if I heard the tone you may have told me to chop? then what? I think the students should stay away from audibles til maybe 40 jumps when they know what an opening canopy looks like. Just my .02
  17. I too am very interested in an answer to this question so if anyone can help it would be appreciated

    Jumping Smoke

One year in now as of this weekend 168 jumps.... I'm going to try that flour idea this next weekend and since I jumped a 7 cell 210sf with no problem I'm also going to finally jump that 190 triathon........but not on the same jump
  19. The best thing I've found after trying several others (including a very loud horn in their ear) is to tell them that your declaring Bankruptcy and have no money for anyone other than your Lawyer. This has reduced my incoming unwanted calls by 90% and I have eight phone lines. Very effective and who gives a shit if they think it's true their not going to tell your friends
  20. Don't Tailgate me or I'll flick a booger on your Goggles
  21. One last thing, they make you call for confirmation of the order and to tell them which lens you want (wide angle or telephoto) and thats where they try to sell you the extended warentee and extras but not alot of pressure so it's not that bad.
  22. Got my camera 10 days ago and can't wait to get it in the air. the deal on ebay from myvbuy is real all of the accesories and the $910.00 worth of extras that come with it but only one thing could have been better and thats the bag is only large enough for the camera stuff and extra tapes. With all that I got with this deal I had to transfer everything to my larger panasonic bag (tri-pod, cords, memory sticks, remote control etc.) love the new camera been playing with it on the ground and love the touch pad programing
  23. have there been any posts of cool sayings for skydivers to put on shirts and if so how do i search for a previous post of the same subject without asking an old question?
  24. We're going to Madras Oregon next weekend and I wanted to know if anyone knows a site to get a photo of the dropzone or just the airport before we jump in?
