Friends 30th b-day party - OK so originally (per my last post) we were going to get a hotel/hit strip clubs yada yada... well due to shortage of funds we are having a party for her at my house instead. I would like to get a stripper for her. Once again though, we can't afford to hire one. So are there any hottie males that can put on a nice little strip show for us Sat. night? I live in the East Bay (N. Cali.). We can't pay you a flat rate, but you will get tips and alcohol will be provided. And you get to party with some kick ass girls!! If you have a checking account, a savings account (even if it only has a couple hundred bucks in it) and a record of paying your utility bills on time you should be able to get a card from Providian without a problem - maybe even without a security deposit. ----------------------------------------------------- Agreed. Co-signer works, or if you can get into a Credit Union (through work or something), they are wonderful at giving you secured low limit credit cards. That's how I started my credit. If you have bought a cell phone/pager that helps build credit as well. Just keep everything paid off. No credit is almost always better then bad credit. I don't quite understand why they won't work with you unless you have bad marks on your credit. But I'm in Cali. Don't know how much a diff. that makes. And whatever you do, don't apply for something where they run your credit unless you plan to buy it. That just puts bad points on your credit. You don't legally have to give out your social security # to any company. Unless of course you plan to borrow money from them. Well the only reason we thought of Sunnyvale is because of the nice lil strip of bars they have (I believe on Murphy Ave). But I couldn't find a hotel close enough. We also thought of Sac, but the friends b-day itis hates Sac. So it looks like SF it is! Does North Beach have a hotel walking distance to the clubs?? ok so this Sat. night a group of us girls are taking one of our g/f's out for her 30th b-day. We want to be able to get a hotel room that is walking distance from a bunch of bars/clubs (and preferrably 1 strip club if possible). I have been searching all around SF and Sunnyvale, but not knowing the area's that well, I haven't had much luck. Any suggestions? Money is a factor as well. We would prefer to not have to take many taxi's (if any). Basically we want to get all drunk and be able to stumble to our room and crash. I was working earlier so my post was real short... But I wanted to say Thank You to all of you for responding. You all gave me a lot to think about. I think I would still want to do AFF instead of static. As I feel I learn quick, and do get bored easily, but I'm also a bit of a perfectionist. I'm starting to possibly consider Byron for my AFF now. Obviously I would still need to check it out, get a feel of the place, and cost may be an issue. So I guess for now I will try and make sure I get a USPA instructor. Does it cost anything to become USPA myself? I noticed someone mentioned in this forum that as long as I'am USPA it's all good?? At least I think that was what was said. And I totally agree on the "girl" comment. Thanks again all of you, you have been great!!! I really hope to meet you all one day. Yep I'm reading this stuff! I do live much closer to Byron vs. Lodi. I basically went to Lodi for my first tandum because of price. Then I got to know a few instructors there, and really hit it off with them. So I have continued to go back specifically for the people. I jumped with Bill Dause on my 2nd tandem. But don't know him real well personally. So I was searching through the forums, and realized that the Parachute Center in Lodi is a non-USPA dz. I plan to do my AFF there, and was wondering if this will cause a problem for me to jump at other dz's after I complete my AFF?? I'm so glad SkyOCiel posted this topic... I feel the same exact way! At times I think I must be annoying the hell out of my whuffo friends! Even some of my friends who have done tandems before, I don't feel they think of it as often. Now granted, I'm a pretty outspoken person. But no matter who is talking about what, if I'm involved in the conversation, I will always turn it into talk of skydiving. Every morning I open my blinds, look to the sky, and think what a good jump day it is! (Which is quite often here in N. Cali). Anyway, thanks for reminding me that I'm not the only one out there that thinks about skydiving so much. I have not found a cure, and I'm not quite sure if I want one. Does it get better if you have more skydiver friends? I would hate to think like this guy.. what a waste of a life! The last thing I would want to do is give this guy a taste of the wonderful gift of flight. He doesn't deserve it. They have these really cool beer pitchers out now, they hold ice in a divided section near the handle. So it keeps your beer cold without diluting it! Great idea! I'm doing my AFF at Parachute Center mainly b/c of the price and awsome people (even though Byron is closer to me). I also have a friend that started her AFF at Byron a few weeks ago. (It was her first jump as well). But she had nothing negative to say about about Byron. I would suggest going to all 3 DZ's, hang out and chat with people. Go with the one that makes you feel most comfortable.
