Well everyone on here pretty much explained it... Your whuffo friendships will def. be affected.. I myself are still friends with a few of my old whuffo friends, but I def. don't see them as much. And they all know when the weather is nice, and I'm not at work... I'm at the dz. I'am a newbie.. but I weigh 100lbs and have had to wear a weight vest on a few jumps with heavier people... I wore 8lbs on a vest and didn't really feel too much of a differance under canopy (I jump a Tri-135). But like I said I'm a newbie so it may just have been that I wasn't paying too much attention to that. It did help in freefall however... didn't have to arch quite as much, and it was much easier to get down to the other jumpers.

That one website doesn't seem to be working anymore... don't know how to make it clicky, but here is another... http://shop.store.yahoo.com/shecoolhecool/coolfakes.html I highly recommend buying the fakes.. you can get somewhat of a "feel", and def. the look. When I bought the spring loaded loops for my lip it looked pretty cool, but I would not have wanted it all the time. Plus it got in the way of everything.. eating, kissing, etc... But that was just my experiance.

I agree with Moody on this one.. I would say go a bit below the lip... you can buy those spring loaded fake hoops online... try it out for a bit and see how it looks and how you like the feel. They also sell magnetic ones if you go for a studded peice. I did this myself for while to see how I liked it. I have not taken my pin necklace off since I got it... I love it! It fits nicely inside my jumpsuit, and have never had a problem with it coming out in freefall. I also like the cord or hemp style better. Usually there are some good winds... but last weekend there was NONE! It sucked! I don't think Aussie Pete has been around Lodi lately. Although if you come on a weekend you should see Mikey. Jimmy is almost always there. I completely agree with what Nightingale has said. Try to turn this into something positive instead of pointing fingers or pressing charges. There is enough negativity in this world. I was not an easy teenager at all, and the people that in the end helped me to become a better person (besides mom) was teachers that had patience with me, and talked to me, instead of AT me. It's amazing to see how a teenager will turn around if they feel you actually respect them and care. Anyway just my 2 cents.

OK so I'm getting ready to finally buy gear. I'm 95% sure of what I want. Planning on buying a new Javelin Odyssey harness/container/reserve, and will buy a used canopy. Now my question is... where would I find the best deal for the new stuff? I noticed the manufacture website is pretty pricy, and they even say to go to a dealer for a discount. Haven't had too much luck in finding a dealer for much cheaper. I plan to hit up my DZO to see if he is able to get me a better deal. Any suggestions on other dealers? The harness may need to be customized to fit my small frame. But I also have a rigger available to me to do any adjustments. Should I buy the smallest size for me and my canopy and just have my rigger customize it if need be? Lead-time is an issue as well, as I want it as soon as possible. Thanks for listening. To me it was not a total waste of money... I did my first tandem in 99, did 1 every year until 2002. This year I have done about 6. I started saving for AFF this year. Now granted, 12 is a lot, but I wanted to keep my muscle memory as current as I could, and I have had a lot of good friends doing their 1st tandem's, and I just couldn't let them go on the load alone.

Yes I must say I LOVE Lodi! When I did my first tandem in 99, that was the whole reason I went there... price! I knew it was the best price. Considering I live about 5-10 min. from Byron, but choose to drive 45 min to Lodi. Def. plan to check out Byron sometime soon though. Just wish they would get real bathrooms. Yah can't wait to land on the green solo,.. unfortuantely the student field is dry and brown, but soon. I'm so excited to meet some of ya'll that come out to Lodi! As I have not met any dz.comers yet. Keep an eye out for me as I don't know what any of ya'll look like. Or send me a PM. Thanks again all for your comments. I have managed to get 1 other female friend of mine to do AFF, the others want to just can't afford it right now. But I do know that the few female's at my home dz are trying to get more chicks involved. That is my goal anyway! Thank you all for your responses.. I'm printing out some of the SIM now. My home DZ is not a USPA approved DZ, but I think all will work out just fine. May end up post-poning the 2 way until I get enough jumps for A now. But I will check with my instructor and see what he thinks. Thanks again all!
