  1. Agreed. I wrote for some information to the Team in Training out here and was contacted the very next day by one of their people. Unfortunately, I had to tell them that I was already training for the breast cancer 60 mile walk this fall and wouldn't be able to join TNT until next year. I've heard such great things about them, though. Caroline, please keep us posted of your training progress. I would LOVE to hear about it. It will make a difference for me to know of someone in TNT because I also will be a first time marathoner when I do it. I'm so excited that you are doing this. Good luck!!!
  2. That's awesome! I'm thinking of doing a Team in Training half or full marathon after my charity walk in November...let me know your progress. I am thinking of signing up for early next year. I'll sponsor you, very soon! LOVE that you are doing this. Good luck!
  3. Woohoo!!! Welcome back, Max! You're amazing and a huge inspiration!
  4. Sorry Arthur! I misread your post. Sounds like you two had fun! Congrats!!! I'm happy for you.
  5. Awww...Chris is such a sweetheart. Happy birthday, Chris!!! May it be spent with all the people that you love.
  6. Woohoo...isn't it fun? So, what 4-way block did you do, Arthur?
  7. That is so funny, Lara. You said that exactly how I was thinking it in my head. i also HAAAAAATE chain restaurants. My sister-in-law and brother have recommended French Laundry to me, if I ever go to Napa Valley. I'd love to eat there.
  8. The funny thing is that I was just thinking of him, last night. Thank God that Mike is ok. Thank you for posting this, Liz. I hope that he knows that we are all wishing him and Kara the best!
  9. Happy birthday, Lisamarie. Love you, sweetheart! (I thought of you last night, while hiking 15 miles.)
  10. mine was jumperconway too. we jumped at the same dz at the time but never crossed paths except on here -- for months! also, ladonna & vanillaskygirl (still haven't met her tho) Oh, I just logged back on...I would love to meet you, too! I am so glad that I was lucky enough to meet Jumperconway...a great guy, imo. I have also met RevJim, Lawrocket and LaDonna...all wonderful people. I look forward to meeting you someday, Heidi.
  11. I and others have repeatedly asked your identity, but you refuse to be totally honest about who you are. Yet, you continue to PM and post, as if you know who some of us are. I am not pissed, but I blocked you last week. If you continuously conceal your identity, you have no right to have access to speak with me privately.
  12. Many of my DZ.com friends, I also know in person or met while taking skills camp or at the Eloy boogie, Chick's Rock, Rantoul, Elsinore or Perris. An early DZ.com friend that stands out as someone who I didn't know, before posting, but I had become close to through PMs was Andrea aka Skymama. I wanted to add that there are many people, such as Melstarr, Lawrocket, Frenchy, Betsy, Flyangel, GQ_jumper, LaDonna, etc. whom I met first via DZ.com, then in person. These people have a very big place in my heart, and I thank Sangiro for this site (and for his friendship, too), which has made this all possible. There are still MANY friends from here, whom I would love to meet one day. At the top of the list is Bethany aka Swedishcelt, and I will meet be meeting her in November!
  13. She will love getting all of the pictures of Shannon from Shannon's friends. I suggest that people also send her a note along with the pics, explaining who is in the pics with Shannon or explaining how much Shannon meant to them. Beverly would love that. Nice thread, Kristi.
  14. Me too. I'm only 5 ft, and I tend to walk quite fast.
  15. You are so sweet, Scarlett. Thank you, and I loved your page, as well.
  16. I'm rooting for Gravity. Good people and great flyers. I've been lucky enough to have flown with all of them, especially with Mel quite a bit, both for fun jumps and for coached jumps.
  17. Thank you for sharing that story, Bob.
  18. I understand. I'm the same way! Not really...I finally used an officially accurate scale, and it said that I weigh 93.6 lbs. Thank goodness for my comfy (compared to others) weight belt. It's custom-made by Bryan Harrell from Terminal Imagery. (I probably sound like PR or like a commercial, but PM his wife dippymoo for more info, if you are interested in one of his weight belts.) Have fun!
