Requiem for a Dream was a very well-made movie. The subject matter was a downer, but it was an EXCELLENT movie! I'm curious as to what kind of movies you enjoy if you didn't think that this was a good movie?

Vanilla & Eilana twins separated at birth?
VanillaSkyGirl replied to StevePhelps's topic in The Bonfire
Steve, I am so flattered, yet, again, by your kind words. You are so sweet. If you go to the Eloy Holiday Boogie, I'll bet that both Eliana and I will once again both be there at the same time, and, hopefully, her and I will even fly together, again, at some point. She is truly a class act! -
Hmmm...I loved Requiem for a Dream, but Pi? I was very, very tired when I watched that in the theatre and nodded off. I remember not really thinking that it was all that it should have been, but, like I said, I nodded off during it. Should I rent it? Why was Pi such a great film?

Yes, I wasn't going to go this weekend either, but, then, I was asked to please jump tomorrow. That will be fun! Like many times before, I was also asked to join in on some fun 4-way in Perris on Sunday. I hadn't been able to go the other times, but I decided to just somehow scrape up the extra $$$ and fly BOTH days. (Yikes...my wallet..I have a tunnel camp the following weekend.) I can't wait to meet all the newbies at Perris!

I agree completely. It is one of the best films that I have ever seen...VERY powerful. It's an absolutely amazing film on so many levels (incredible acting, too), but it is difficult for some people to watch.

LOL! It will be fine, Darcy, sweetie. We will be with friends and make new friends. Btw, do you want to spend the night? I am staying, so PM me.

Vanilla & Eilana twins separated at birth?
VanillaSkyGirl replied to StevePhelps's topic in The Bonfire
Steve, I'm so honored that you would refer to me in the same sentence as Eliana. Sadly, Billvon is correct in stating that she and I are nothing alike. I could only wish that I could be more like Eliana, as both a person and as a flyer. Eliana is an amazing woman, very beautiful inside and out. I met and spent time with her in my Airspeed tunnel camp, and, of couse, flew with her a lot. It was truly an honor. She was such a supportive, lovely soul. I found out that we had some things in common...we both had South American bakgrounds. I was born in Peru, and her parents are from Columbia. Both our families, then, moved to the east coast of the United States. My family moved to New York when I was 8 months old, and hers moved to New Jersey, where she was later born. Our families were both supposed to move back to our home countries, but then decided to stay in the United States in new home states. Mine moved cross-country to California (in 1976) and hers moved to Florida (much later...1988). I just felt such a kinship with her, a fellow South American raised with similar ideals and morals as my family...and such an inspiration as a female skydiver! I wrote the following about her in another thread... "Eliana exudes an air of calmness, quiet dignity, humbleness, grace and strength, both in the air and on the ground. What is even more amazing is that although she is such a shining star and an amazing skydiver, she is still so down-to-earth and so eager to share her knowledge freely. I am so honored to have flown with her and briefly gotten to know what a sweet person that she truly is. She is lovely in every way, and I am quite inspired by her, just for being such a good human being, among other things. Furthermore, I was incredibly flattered that Jeremy (Airspeed camera man) often called me "little Eliana" at the tunnel camp. Wow, what a compliment , but, no, there is only one Eliana." I am attaching some of my favorite pictures of her and myself found in THIS thread. I know that it seems like I am laying it on thick, but I am not. Anyone who has met Eliana knows what a lovely spirit that she has. She is truly a beautiful lady, and I thank you for complimenting me, Steve. -

Omg...this thread. Steve meant to be complimentary, and I thank him for being so very sweet. The food references, however...I am beginning to find insulting. -
I completely agree. I just now took a leisurely bubble bath. Honestly, soaking in the tub is one of my biggest pleasures...I do it every single day, if possible.

Oddly enough, my parents have never had sex, JP. Nope...not them...at least, that is what I keep telling myself.
