That sucks. I did many jumps with him and his brother Arthur (Stan) Bussey. My condolonces to all, especially Stan.
-
Hmmm. You could almost replace "Bush" for "Putin" in that sentence and not have it lose any veracity.
-
None. All three look like shaved horses. And I think one may be a guy. That's not rude is it ?
-
Actually, you seem somewhat overqualified to be a DZO.

Arguments for (or against) the existence of God
gjhdiver replied to scottbre's topic in Speakers Corner
Now that's just plain mean. I may not agree with certain viewpoints, but for all I know they are perfectly valid. We all live in adult fairy tales of our own constructs, our own little worlds. No need to zap a nuke on anyone else's. Jen Yes there is. Without a reality check for religious fundamentalists from time to time, you just may find their particular brand of superstitions getting enacted into public poilcy. 3 -
Really? They aren't the only ones with nukes, and I don't see the Chechens having any problems with it. The Afghans for that matter either. Nukes didn't help em much there. That's becuase people who quite willingly accept suicide missions are not prone to normal forms of deterrence. The arms buildup of the 80's wasn't to apply deterrent force to the Taliban. The elder Bush was too busy selling them weapons as part of that system, along with the good old then ally of the US, Saddam Hussein. Nope, all that juicy defense spending was aimed at keeping parity with the Soviets. Although the USSR doesn't exist as a political entity in the same way, the military hardware and command structures it still posesses could quite easily reduce the civilised world to rubble pretty quickly. The US also needs their support globally in a way that it didn't before. I doubt the US is going to make waves with them just because Putin is taking a page out of W's playbook. I wonder what "Patriot Act" is in Russian ?

Arguments for (or against) the existence of God

No it wouldn't. It would bore me. Mind you, you seem happy with your adult fairy tale, so who am I to dissillusion you ? People arguing about god is like watching two retards argue about who has the best imaginary friend. I think I'll leave this pointless discussion to the those that haven't worked out what a crock it all is yet. -
Why do I have to make "FUN" jumps?
gjhdiver replied to OnYourBack's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The TM I had observed some years ago does not jump anymore after he flipped though his risers on a "fun" jump (the first in years) after doing ONLY tandems for years. He stopped about the same time they were going to make all TM prove they could fly as a coach (or something like that). Judy Yeah. They all get weeded out eventually, just as the people who only do work jumps eventually burn out and leave. It's self correcting system in the end. I'm not sure that I'd want to do fun jumps with either sort to be honest. Too sketchy, and not any fun, which sort of defeats the point when you think about it. -
A tale of two different drop zones
gjhdiver replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I find what works too, is that while you have your head out of the door and can't hear him, you can use your right hand to show him the finger for 10-15 seconds before you're ready to exit. This should have the required effect of tripling his blood pressure. There's something about having a tandem strapped to you that seems to want to make you yell for exit as soon as the light comes one, whether or not you can see where you are. I've even been tempted to do it myself when doing them. I have no idea why this is. If a tandem master doesn't like the sopt, he can signal to his video and pull high. SOP for my time as chief instructor at Z Hills. I've yet to see a tandem land off yet from a long spot. YMMV. Basically, if you ain't looking out of the door at the spot, clouds and traffic, STFU. -

gjhdiver replied to OnYourBack's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Because one would assume that they had aquired the basic skill of falling face to earth whilst attaining the minimum requirements to collect a tandem rating. If you have tandem masters at your operation that would give you cause for concern in that area, I would suggest that you review their ratings, rather than insisting they did fun jumps. -
Dude, the guy who took that Icon phot of you, and who has partied with you countless times, was a cop for 13 years..... But you recovered and are now a decent human being.

Motorhead cancelled for tomorrow night. This is the greatest injustice ever perpetrated on the human race. Bugger.

HA! Oliver was definately not an asshole. A drunk yes but an asshole? Never!!! I miss that short, bald and freckly little cutie! As for the English being known for their cooking, HA! I've been to England. The food there sucks. The only decent meal I had was one I cooked myself. The last guy you tried to hook me up with is married now. Like I need that!!! That's because you didn't move fast enough to scoop him up. I wasn't referring to dear old Oliver. If you're into bald, freckly men, have I got a choice for you....
-
My right hand. After all, it's sex with someone I love, and I don't have to talk about our relationship afterwards.
-
And it's sold ! Thank you ladies and gentlemen !
-
I keep offering to vet your prospects for you, but you never take me up on it. Oliver ruined you for other men. Once you have English, you never go back. Just ask Julie. We're famed as cooks and lovers you know.
-
Don't worry Mary, I'll invite him on one of my skydives, then taunt him until he cries. I can do that. He didn't know when he was lucky, that's for sure.

OK, I got a voucher for the Orlando tunnel for half an hour that I'm not going to get around to using any time soon. I bought the time last time I was in FL, but my plans have changed, and I don't think I'll be heading down there again for a while. First person to PM me and offer $250 gets it. That's about $100 off I believe. Any takers ?
-
Nonsense. I'm beloved by all. Just ask anyone at the DZ and they'll tell you. I also love the way that even though I first jumped at Byron in 1992, people still haven't worked out how to spell my name. G-A-R-E-T-H pronounced, "Sir".

Who has the fastest delivery time on a container?

Those pesky hurricanes threw a little wrench in the works of the Florida manufacturers. You should be back on track for it now. -

You can get a custom Wings in 4 weeks if you pay the rush charge. Most manufacturers will do a rush for you if you pay extra. You might also want to call around the dealers to see what's in stock. I know that Wings have some larger rigs in stock for immediate delivery right now. They will adjust the harness for you before shipping. have a look at the website at ; http://www.skydivewings.com -
Go here; http://www.fasco-csc.com/ If you get out of them, you'll be ready for the Mysteries of TIme and Space.

No. Never volunteer for anything.
-
Oh yes it is. Ask Julie about her mole bite too. That was all sorts of fun too. Hercules Boogie is a blast though. You have to get there at least once.

Yup, done the blue room and just finished Chasm about two minutes ago
