I started back in High School, my senior year in 2002. First jump on the day after I turned 18. The funny thing was that by the time I graduated HS, I had my own rig (parents had no idea) and a coach rating. Not bad huh? A lot of jumpers at our DZ are College Students, and I actually shared an evening class with one of them - so he assumed me a 20-something college guy and I just let him believe that. I remember being grouchy because I couldn't jump because it was my graduation. So I've been jumping for some 5 years, but I had a 2 year break - now I'm back at College and jumping away. So 5 years - 2(no jumps) = 3 years of active jumping. =========Shaun ==========

All of Alma's seperate books? I'm confused - lets name them... 1. 1 Nephi 2. 2 Nephi 3 Jacob 4. Enos 5. Jarom 6. Omni 7. Words of Mormon 8. Mosiah 9. Alma 10. Helaman 11. 3 Nephi 12. 4 Nephi 13. Mormon 14. Ether 15. Moroni How could you count more than one Alma? Granted Alma had a Son named Alma, but that is included in Mosiah... ??? =========Shaun ==========

Goodnight. You normal people who have jobs need to get a good nights rest for work tomorrow. [Sudden realization] Dang, I need a life. =========Shaun ==========

I just had a great Idea for a 4-way RW team name - "Blowing Chunks" So cool - watch out Airspeed, here we come!! =========Shaun ==========

Almost. The Book of Mormon contains only 15 Books and about 2,000 year history, but the main chunk about 1,000 (roughly 600BC to 400AD). Pearl of Great Price only has 4 Books or so. Just because you pay tithing doesn't mean you are ready to go to heaven, nevertheless guaranteed a seat up there. That's kinda looking at the 10 commandments and saying "As long as you don't take the Lord's name in vein, you are guaranteed into heaven!." The "gross" and "net" thing is a personal choice. I do the net thing, because I figure what the wolves get before I get home was never mine to begin with. Edited to Add - we got off track - this post didn't have anything to do with the whole silly book. My apologies - I'll keep it on topic from here on out. =========Shaun ==========

Where did all the good girls go to? You think I'm not being serious, but I am. I think they are all either married or hiding from me. =========Shaun ==========

Drink plenty of water throughout the day before your jump (but please see my comment on Not taking a whizz) - I think most of the students I've seen toss their lunches were dehydrated - especially on those 90+ hot summer days, wearing a thick student jumpsuit. take care of yourself. =========Shaun ==========

I agree with Jerm - I think his list hit the nail on the head. I would imagine that the price for Hybrid cars will continue to go decrease as the technology becomes more mainstream - plus it just feels good to buy less gas - Hell, if I were in the market for a $15,000 used car - I would look seriously at a Hybrid. =========Shaun ==========

Got it in one!

I was packing tandems at WFFC a year or two ago, and the guy I was packing for had a little 90 pound girl toss her cookies under canopy. As she got ready to hurl - the TM did a hard turn to divert the flow of vomit away from himself and the gear. She turned her head to the Opposite side, and upon landing, not a single drop was visible. I pack the tandem, get ready to put it in the container (Vector 2 tandem) and to my horror, I found EVERY DANG DROP made it in the main container. Didn't miss a drop. I still can't figure out how that little girl torqued herself around that far to have such great accuracy. Oh, please don't take a whizz when you get excited under canopy. I've cleaned that as well. I felt so bad for the student I bought him lunch and got him a towel at the local grocery store. =========Shaun ==========

Don't throw up please. I am that guy the DZ who wanders around all weekend and usually winds up cleaning the barf off the student gear once it has dried. No fun. I usually do it once a summer and at LEAST once during WFFC. =========Shaun ==========

Wow. that makes me want to sell my car, my rig, drop out of school, and use the $ to buy one of those gizmos. I wonder how many of those buggers he's crashed practicing. Those were some amazing skillz. =========Shaun ==========

I've taught a few muslim (sp) students. One did really well, got his "A", graduated from Grad school, and last I heard he was jumping down in Texas somewhere. good guy - he's my bud. =========Shaun ==========

After reading the article and a few extra searches of my own - I came to a few conclusions concerning this Book. conclusion number 1 - Vern G. Swanson may be a sharp guy, but his book is still theory. Just because it's a "Mormon" author, doesn't mean that instantly this book is scripture - personally, I want to see some more information before I'll make a decision one way or another. Conclusion number 2 - Based on "Mormon" doctorine, HYPOTHETICALLY IF Christ DID have a Bloodline, why would it matter? This issue doesn't apply to our personal salvation, and there are no brownie points for genealogical connections. "Wow, you are a decendent of So-and-so, you get a free "Go to Heaven" card!" No. Connections can't eliminate personal accountability. So instead of looking at this theoretical book with no evidence and judging the authors religion, you are missing the forest for the trees. Theological twinkies. yum yum.

I've been a "Mormon" for 22 years, I've served as a full-time missionary for 2 years, and I live by those principles. Funny, never once in my life have I heard of a "Magic Lizard" or anything remotely close to it. Could you clarify this up for us? =========Shaun ==========

0:4:0 I made 4 jumps this weekend - one for free because it was a ferry load as our little 182 headed off to get it's 100-hour. It was fun - I showed up to the DZ early in the morning and left as we locked the door at night. I spent most of my time on the ground packing or studying for the Rigger Exam. Fun fun. =========Shaun ==========

Sunday morning? If they are not jumping, they are asleep. Go to bed! =========Shaun ==========

I'd be happy to clarify this. By "Commercial Rigs" I am talking about Rigs that are not personal gear - most likely dropzone rental gear, student rigs, et cetera. I included this in the poll because many of the riggers I know and work with will ask for a little more for these "commercial Rigs" =========Shaun ==========

Heck - I was out for 2 years and I go back to the DZ and nobody does RW anymore!! I can't imagine what it'll be like with your gap!! =========Shaun ==========
-
Yuck - I read those instructions over two times, and I still need to sit down with a rig to put the pieces together in my head - that seems to have a lot of steps that have been simplified in almost every type of pilot rig I've seen or worked with .... =========Shaun ==========

My bad. Oups. Agreed - if you haven't already voted - let's do it HIGHEST option. =========Shaun ==========

This is a tough one - by my count, I have been to about 15 different Boogies - and here are my top favoriets in Order.... 1. WFFC. Comeo on, if you are out at the party tent at night, it means you weren't jumping hard enough during the day. I usually collaps wherever I stand when the sun goes down. Granted, I am usually there packing tandems, but still... It's my all time favorite each year. I like to wander up and down and talk to all the manufacturers and learn a lot about their equipment. 2. Hill Billy boogie at Mt. Vernon, MO. CASA Or a King Air - just a really good crowd of people I match well with - a smaller boogie, but just a really good time. I like that Crowd. 3. I used to go to the Mullins Boogies at Skydive witchita, but that DZ closed not to long ago - also just a good smallish boogie with something fun to jump. Hands down my favorite "fun" boogie is WFFC. No doubt - I save up all year for it, and I work/play hard there. The LO's are done so well, that almost every jump is fun and not too high-stress. The jumping is a litte more "focused" IMHO than other big boogies. That, to me, is Fun.

I loved it! I thought they were being serious until I saw the little restraining order hanging above the other spider... =========Shaun ==========

I lost about 10 LBS over the last 2 years - Right now I would be really happy to lose about 10 more pounds, that would put me at 6' 170lbs. I run everyday for at least 45 miniutes, but that last 10 lbs doesn't want to come off..... =========Shaun ==========
