  1. there are some people I would LOVE to give a nice rat to. I could let it in their house while they sleep. =========Shaun ==========
  2. I can't decide If I should go jump today or go to the lake. Oh, ok. I get it now. I'll do both. = ) =========Shaun ==========
  3. 0:5:0 I did get my SL-I and coach rating current again and then I spent my other 4 jumps taking different students up. I packed 3 reserves and kept myself busy at the dropzone with spring cleaning. Nothing exciting to report.
  4. I think I've learned a lot about myself in skydiving - somethings that stick out to me are... - We all screw up. So don't get cocky because you can freefly better, or fly your slot better, et cetera. Don't make people feel bad about screwing up, or refuse to jump with them because they arn't good enough, et cetera. - keep drama out of the DZ, workplace, classroom, et cetera. - Make goals. This year I want to make 150 jumps, inspect & repack 55 rigs, go to one new Dropzone and one new boogie. Also, I set goals to get a 3.5 GPA, Study Math for at least 1.5 hours a day, and make time for my family. Without goals, you're just kinda screwing around. - Go to bed early and get up early - make that early bird load every Saturday. You're not going to get much done if you are staying up til the wee hours of the morning everyday. =========Shaun ==========
  5. We cleaned out our Dz a few days ago - And being a packrat I saved a lot of bits and pieces from old military Rigs - I have a bellywart, a few Ripcords, and a Pioneer pilot chute used in a 1958 navy seat. Give me a PM in you are interested -
  6. I actually feel pretty bad for that guy - Either the fact he was dying or the fact that his last wish was to hire a prostitute. Poor bastard. =========Shaun ==========
  7. Everclear. I've never tried to stuff nor will I ever, but it's great as a cleaning agent for a variety of things. Especially in cases where denatured alcohol can damage material. String instruments come to mind - especially when rosin is caked onto the strings and there isn't time to remove each string and properly clean them in boiling water. I think everclear is the most useful alcoholic beverage. =========Shaun ==========
  8. It's interesting to read this thread - different answers in here reflect the nation as a whole, in which the average marriage age has been steadily increasing for years. Yeah, IMHO, the 'right' answer is 'when you find Mr. Mrs. right.' If this basic criteria isn't met, then you'll have a miserable life regardless of when you tie the knot. Then again, I see a lot of people saying they'll never get married because that involves things like 'sharing', 'trusting', 'compromising' et cetera. It's sad because people with those selfish trains of thought already have a handicap which will prevent them from enjoying a full, loving relationship. But then again, what I see as emotional immaturity, others may see as wise.... If you are upset at this post, take into account that I am 22, not married, and I can't even get a date on Friday Night - laugh it off. =========Shaun ==========
  9. I voted for 21-25 - I doubt that I'll make it, but I think that 24-25 is a good number. Too much younger than that, and it gets unreasonably hard, later than that and age/stubbornness plays in. =========Shaun ==========
  10. At WFFC, the Helicopter staff would do a Tandem each year with the guy I was packing for - I really liked that because that meant a free jump for me
  11. How can you answer this question with one acronym? WFFC =========Shaun ==========
  12. Anything with Barbara Striesend - but I only cry because her songs suck so much. =========Shaun ==========
  13. The nice thing about having 2 tax Lawyers for Sister/Brother-in-law is that I can do my taxes - and get some pointers on the details of the system. =========Shaun ==========
  14. Glass of Diet coke. =========Shaun ==========
  15. My last two (only 2) canopies have been PD - my first was a grizzly old PD 193 7-cell skyboat - it worked. Second canopy is a Sabre2 150 - it a good canopy. PD is a good company with a great reputation for customer service - you really can't go wrong with PD.
  16. I'm a college Kid, so my "Job" involves studying for a crazy amount of hours and for about 3 hours a day working doing accounting and paper work for a little shop - one that I've known the owner for eons. Yeah, I like my job, and i like my life - but I'm sure it will only get better.
  17. You are a gentleman and a scholar - this answer wins.
  18. Women are soooo weird. =========Shaun ==========
  19. For my own information - what do most riggers charge these days for washing/reassembly of a rig? =========Shaun ==========
  20. You know, nothing is cooler than somebody in Tevas and Socks - it makes a real statement. =========Shaun ==========
  21. No, I am not dated. Hence the whole spending saturday night watching Tv issue. =========Shaun ==========
  22. I see this and alarm bells go off in my Head. Far 65 makes it clear that a Rigger CAN supervise a candidate for his required packjobs - but FAR 105 states that unless you have the ticket in your hand - your reserve packjob CANNOT be jumped. This was hammered into my head by a DPRE during my practical exam. Unless I read this thread wrong, a major no-no has taken place. Can somebody clear this up? =========Shaun ==========
  23. "This is what happens when you put a big dog in a little pink cutesy kitty bed" =========Shaun ==========
